  1. Judy, Wow its been a month already with your foot?? I hope it gets better soon! Its hard when we dont get to do the stuff we enjoy because of being sick. I hope you can be back tending to your garden real soon though. For anyone interested in Ketotifen I'm poking around the internet looking for any useful info....basically cuz I need...
  2. Jersey, I actually enjoy doing the outside yardwork.....its the inside I cant stand doing. The only thing is now that I'm not home all week its just too time consuming for what little time I have off. Its 3 big yards and I would call it very high maintenance with all the stuff I planted now growing big. It was a new house we bought so everything I planted...
  3. Nini Thats awesome that you put this together for the newbies....and even the not-so-newbies. Its gonna make life easier for alot of people.
  4. I am soooo happy today! I always have to spend one day of my w/end taking care of the yardwork....which really sucks in the summer when everything grows so fast. Its alot of yard to take care of. I've always dreamed of having a gardener but figured its too expensive. I had a guy out fixing the sprinkler system this week and I asked how much he charged for...
  5. Donna, that sounds like alot of fun! I got alot of crop pants too...I actually got a ton of new clothes this week. I couldnt find any new sandals though....I was looking for that tangerine color but havent found any yet. Every summer seems like I get a new favorite color. Have a great time in Vegas!!!
  6. I dont think thats what happened with me. I think its because I stopped eating rice and wanted to replace it with something that would help me keep my weight on. Unfortunately I chose yams and sweet potatoes....even though they've caused problems in the past. I thought maybe these were "safe" and now here I am 10 lbs. lighter. The other symptoms are...
  7. Naw...it was the brainfog! Actually I was busy a couple days....I went on a shopping spree....saw a couple movies, but yeah....the vaction was kind of a blur. I dunno if it was my new meds or all the brainfog but I was feeling kinda "giddy" I guess....not really focused or clear-headed at all. I ended up making an a** of myself on Friday. I pretty...
  8. Evie, good luck with the biopsy. If its DH that will give you a positive diagnosis for Celiac. I dont have enough for even a 3 day rotation right now. There was a time that I figured a rotation would help and I planned out a whole 4 day rotation with foods I dont often eat and shopped for it and had everything written down and I actually got sicker...
  9. I seem to be getting better....my head feels like 85% better than 2 days ago. I still feel like someone punched me in the chest on the left side. I remember this kind of chest pain from a long time ago pre gluten-free. Alot of the time the pain would be on my right side and I thought it was my heart back then since the pain is deep inside the tissue...it...
  10. Judy, No...it wasnt the med. I was gonna hold off on the med until the end of the week just in case it might make me sick. I ended up taking it sooner since I was getting sick from the yams and losing weight....I just wanted to hurry up and start getting the meds into my system hoping they might help. I started getting sick on Sat. (the first day of my...
  11. Well...tomorrows the last day of my vacation and it was probably the worst week off I've ever had. After doing pretty well for 2 months everything went to hell this week. I'd been stable at 110 lbs. since I started this thread but in less than 7 days I lost 10 lbs. and got really really sick. I've had loose stools w/ undigested food all week. I thought...
  12. Yeah...I do belong to a union....a weak and sucky one! I wouldnt count on my union for anything....just calling them would be a complete waste of my time. I wouldnt make an issue of it since I like my boss alot. He's always gone out of his way for me. I know if he could schedule me w/out creating problems for himself and the store he would do it. He...
  13. Evie, Honestly, I dont know how to go about getting it in other states. I didn't even know the laws were different for each state until Jersey posted what her own doctor had told her. He may have not been unaware the FDA approved it for compounding or the laws may truelly be different. I'm not sure on that. Even though I'm in CA I'm not getting it from...
  14. Well I dunno about him but I'm doin it for the $$. It kind of sucks but because I was off on disability for 2 years I dont get paid for a 40 hour week of vacation. I didnt find this out until I got my vacation check which was only 12 hrs. of pay. I have 4 weeks vacation coming (which I have to take) and for each one I'll only get 12 hrs. pay!!...
  15. Happy Birthday Donna!!! Hope you're enjoying your day off....you defineately deserve it....and you still look like you're in your 30's! Gotta go back to work now. Yeah...I'm working on my vacation. Only today though.
  16. Thats exactly how I felt. She is so fortunate to have doctors who tested her in the first place and then to acknowledge that there is a problem....I cant say it enough....very lucky! Some doctors would wrongly dismiss the one positive test. She has good doctors. I never had tummy aches growing up....matter of fact it was rare for me to even catch a cold...
  17. Gluten Intolerance is nothing to mess around with it. By the time I had symptoms alot of damage had been done and I'm still not recovered nearly 4 years later. For 30 years I was symptom free and ate whatever I wanted. Now there are hardly any foods I can tolerate. Do you really want to wait until she is presenting with symptoms?? The majority of undiagnosed...
  18. I only eat wild fish and never touch anything thats been farmed. It has nothing to do with gluten....farmed fish is just bad ...period. I'd rather eat fresh fish than anything from a can. Fresh wild fish is the way to go IMO.
  19. A test probably wont show anything if shes accidently glutened herself now and then. However, if the problem is ongoing and not getting better it might be helpful to know if her numbers are high. If the numbers are normal she could still be accidently consuming gluten but not enough to show up in the test. Anti-gliadin IgA and the tTG would be the best...
  20. Wow..I was shocked when I read how your conversation played out. I know you feel sad but obviously you deserve much better than what you got from this person today. She's not worth your tears and you'll meet people who care about you, your health and your feelings. Sounds like she doesnt want to be inconvenienced by anything "out of the ordinary". You should...
  21. I've been reading your updates and praying for Meg. I hope something positive happens on Wed. I agree with everyone else about the doctors all getting together on this one. I pray Meg starts gaining so she can be strong for her surgery. Hang in there.
  22. I'm with the others who have posted. If a doctor demanded that I eat something that I knew was not the best thing for me I would definately no longer see that doctor. You have to listen to your body and do whats right for you. There are many people here who cannot tolerate dairy plus a whole lot more than that so if you feel dairy will worsen your symptoms...
  23. Thanks Miamia, I feel like I've done all I can do as far as testing, identifying intolerances, etc. I just need something to get me over the hump so that I can use everything I've learned and actually get somewhere with it. I think this drug may be what it takes to get me over that hump.
  24. You know what I was noticing today as I wrote all that info? I was noticing that my whole writing style changes....all of a sudden I go into "studious mode"....like a whole other part of my brain turns on. I'm back to normal now though.
  25. Armetta, You would still need need to follow your diet and avoid whatever you are allergic to. The drug will hopefully heal the damage that has been done so that yes, eventually you can eat out and have a greater tolerance. Its suppossed to calm down allergies only because it heals the leaky gut. It wont stop reactions that I'm having now...I still...
