ARCHIVED Just Got Back Celiac Panel Results Back
Rachel--24 replied to Cheli's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
This isnt enough to rule out Celiac. The TtG is more specific....I have no idea why it says TtG to follow?? Usually all the results come back together. The Celiac panel consists of 5 different tests. You only have the results for one test. -
ARCHIVED What Is The Delphi List?
Rachel--24 replied to Lane R's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
The Delphi list is a list of gluten free mainstream products. Heres how to get it: 1) Go to the website, Open Original Shared Link 2) Click on "messages" or "start reading" 3) Select the folder "gluten-free Product List" 4) Click on the topic called "Downloadable files word" 5) Of the four options, choose the one in the upper right. You may need... -
ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
Rachel--24 replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Wow! Its great to see that everyone is making improvements...I'm feeling pretty darn good today myself. Floridian, From all that I've read...thats exactly right. First, our bodies produce a small amount of glutamates because we need it. Also we get a very small amount of glutamates from whole foods but most of it is "bound" glutamate which... -
ARCHIVED Has Anyone Tried A Colon Cleanse Product ?
Rachel--24 replied to marciab's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
You can get stool sitting around in there. When I had a CT scan a couple months back I was told I had lots of impacted stool. I figured I did since I'd been constipated for over a month after eating one block of cheese. I was not feeling good at all. Right after the CT scan I was scheduled for a colonoscopy and after taking the prep for it I was all cleaned... -

I believe the coating on paper plates comes from corn. -

You cant tell where its come from unless you ask. There is no way to know whats been sprayed on the crops..so its just trial and error. Thats why they say its best to grow your own if possible. -

Rachel--24 replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Hey Stephanie! Its been a long time since I've seen you here...I hope your new job is going well. Bummer about the corn. I remember you kind of questioning corn a long time ago. Hopefully you're feeling better w/out it though. Hmmm...maybe I can try that one of these days when I'm feeling really brave. I'm kind of scared of apple cider... -

Gail I'm glad you decided to "jump in". Have you ever had any problems with the organic veggies? I wasnt aware that Grimmway was supplying the organic stuff everywhere...I just figured I couldnt find stuff from other farms because Grimmway is right here where I live. Me...a good student in school? My Mom will probably laugh if she reads... -
ARCHIVED Maybe Hes Wrong
Rachel--24 replied to Lister's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Lister, Even if you do have something else going on it doesnt mean that your doctor was wrong. You obviously need to be off gluten so going off the diet is only going to make things worse. Try not to stress so much...stress will worsen your symptoms tremendously. If you stop eating processed foods like Amy's you wont need to stress about whether or not... -

ARCHIVED Carrageenan
Rachel--24 replied to Mango04's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Mango..I have problems with it. Its evil. I hate carageenan. I posted a list of the worst food additives last night (pg. 34 on that super long thread). Carageenan was on there. This is what it said. Its also got lots of free glutamates in it (msg). -

I didnt find any butters there. They didnt have a ton of stuff I guess cuz its still early in the season. My friend said as the weeks go on they get more and more variety. I got cherries, berries, nectarines, squash, potatoes, long green beans, asparagus and I think thats it. We'll see how it goes. Everything was way cheaper than what I'm used... -

LOL Mango. No Kidding! I always kinda laugh to myself when I read the title "Maybe I can eat dairy again". Boy, was I living in a dreamland! First I hafta get myself all the way better before I can think of writing a book. Who's really gonna take my book seriously if I'm still sick? As far as explaining things...I suck at it unless I'm writing... -
ARCHIVED Maybe Hes Wrong
Rachel--24 replied to Lister's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I'm just going to repeat whats already been suggested. Not eating processed foods will make a big difference. I know you've said you cant cook but do you really want to go on like this? I never knew how to cook either but I taught myself and it was the best thing I did for myself. I had to change my whole way of eating but I'm not sick like that anymore.... -

Rachel--24 replied to Judyin Philly's topic in Related Issues & Disorders

ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
Rachel--24 replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I think alot of people could benefit from learning about what goes into our food. Alot of my inspiration came from reading stories about other people who were as sick as I was and completely recovered because they figured out which foods or chemicals were the culprits. Its really hard to figure these things out and thank God for the internet because without... -

Thanks Armetta, I hope you're doing well also. Yeah...alot of views! I wonder if its more than the McDonalds frenzy that took place a few months back. Its kind of cool because I feel like this past couple months has really been my turning point and its all documented here on this thread...as I figured things out. It will be nice to look back on when... -
ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
Rachel--24 replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Heres a list I found of the most dangerous additives in our food. The ones I know are affecting me are Aspartame, Carageenan, MSG and Artificial colors. I'm pretty sure I will react to sulfites if I were to test them but thats for another day. I react to dried coconut and raisins and its most likely due to sulfites. I can eat dates all day... -
ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something

I found another jam tonight!!! This one is peach perserves...its only got peaches, cane sugar and lemon juice. It says right on the jar..NO fruit concentrates and NO pectin. I also found a cracker last week that I seem to be doing fine with. Its a rice cracker but I had never tried it cuz it has the "made in a facility w/ wheat" CYA statement on it. So... -
Hillshire Farms
Rachel--24 replied to Lister's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Lister, I have the Delphi list. The hillshire farms products are all safe except the Beer Bratwurst. The Chicken Apple Sausage is produced on a line with gluten ingredients so CC is possoble with that one. I would just like to add that if you eat the sausages and get all tripped out and symptomatic it is most likely from all the MSG in the sausages..... -

LOL Donna, You crack me up! OK...maybe try to calm down on the fruit. How about mixing it up a bit. A liitle bit of fruit, a little bit of this and a little bit of that...other safe foods for you. I'm thinking a fruit-filled day and nothing else cant be good. On second thought maybe dont take my advice since I'm the one who's now on her... -
ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
Rachel--24 replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Floridian, Unfortunately the msg cant be washed off. Its used in a growth enhancer so its actually "part" of the vegetable. Its not just something thats on the outside of the veggie...wish it was cuz then I'd just peel it off. I get crazy with my peeler sometimes but I guess if I tried to peel the MSG off I'd be left with nothing but a pile of shavings... -
ARCHIVED Ener-g Breads
Rachel--24 replied to Lister's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
All of the gluten-free breads I've tried have only been good after toasting. I think toasting is a *must*. Other than that I love all the breads. I'm not picky though and to me it was great to just have some bread. -

YAY! My Mom just called to tell me she was reading my posts and she wanted me to know that she has a Tupperware egg seperator that works really well. COOL...now I can scratch that off my "to do" list. My Mom is the best...I love how she reads the posts. Love you Mom!
