Julie, sorry to hear you've had a bad month with the angio. Pretty awesome about eating dairy though! One day you might see me post that "I can eat dairy again"...FOR REAL. I'm pretty much caught up on posts....I've been reading....just havent had anything new to share. Waiting for the OAT results....thats about it. Sherry...I guess... -

I think around here we would call that "carlaing"?? I'm not too familiar with moderation. I still dont understand how anyone can take a couple bites of a donut and save the rest for later?? WTH?? I love ART!!!! I have alot of respect for Amy....and I feel very confidant in her abiltites...so there's not alot that I would question... -

Paula....which ones did you get?? Peptizyde and Zyme Prime? Anyways, keep in mind that they are designed to break down the proteins (gluten, casein, soy, etc)...and Zyme Prime (if you got it) breaks down the carbs, lactose and all the rest. So if your problem with cheese is due to the casein...then yeah...the enzymes will help. BUT...if your problem... -

Its my understanding that while the immune system is under stress (before diagnosis) it is less capable of fighing off infections. One of my Dr.'s had told me that 100% of his patients who continuned to have problems after removing gluten (including additional food intolerances) tested positive for infections...such as yeast, parasites and bacteria. They... -

I'm pretty sure you have to cut out the digestive enzymes.....but I dont recall the time frame. If you call Great Plains they should be able to tell you. I cant remember the specifics because I was also doing the CDSA (a 3 day stool test) at the same time and I dont recall which instructions said what. I think they both said to discontinue the enzymes...... -
Yeast doesn't become a problem all on its own....and if you focus on treating the yeast *only*...it usually never resolves. Chronic yeast problems indicate that something has weakened the immune defenses...the body is not in "balance". If the Dr. is treating the yeast instead of looking into some of the most common conditions which lead to yeast overgrowth...

ARCHIVED Vinegar Mystery Solved!
Rachel--24 replied to Rebecca's mom's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I think it says that you dont have a sensitivity to the molds. Apple Cider Vinegar is actually used as treatment for Candida.....as well as many other things. Lots of people feel better after taking apple cider vinegar for their yeast problem. -

Which test kit did you order. For the OAT test by itself you just have to avoid apples, grapes, cranberries and pears (and any product containing their juices) for 24 hours prior to collecting urine. If you got the combo...with the yeast culture sensitivity test...then you will have to avoid the antifungals. I threw away my instructions so I dont have... -
ARCHIVED Vinegar Mystery Solved!
Rachel--24 replied to Rebecca's mom's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
A very common cause for this is a yeast overgrowth. People with an overgrowth of candida (or other yeast/fungi) tend to become sensitive to airborne molds and food borne molds. The foods you listed...including vinegar...can all cause problems for a person with a yeast overgrowth. -

Nothing in the instructions mentions diet...just antifungals, digestive enzymes and some other things. I'm not on a strict candida diet or anything but I dont eat a ton of sugar or carbs. During the week that I had my test I ate more than I normally would....because if theres a problem I want to have it showing up in the test. Back when I was very strict... -

Arsenic was pulled out with my chelation treatments. I was doing IV DMPS....but its kind of expensive. I forget if you have fillings or not....but if you do chelation is not an option. -

Oh...ok. Then you're not actually allergic to the foods....so you may not always react to almonds or the other things that tested positive. Intolerances can be temporary. Seems like you're pretty intolerant to gluten though! Good thing you're avoiding it. My intolerance testing didnt show ANY high reactive foods and only a handful of spices with... -

No....they cannot be taken prior to testing. These treatments can kill off anything that might have shown up in the test....so you may not get accurate results. Anything that inteferes with the outcome of the test needs to be avoided. Usually they will have a list of things which need to be avoided prior to testing....it will be noted in the instructions... -

Kassandra, Was it allergy (IgE) testing that you had....or intolerance (IgG)?? About the sulfur....if you have problems with sulfur its not caused by the foods....its usually caused by your body's inabilty to metabolise the sulfur into sulfate. Your immune system wouldnt produce antibodies against the foods....its not actually the food itself thats... -

I take No-Fenol, AFP Peptizyde and Zyme Prime...all from Houston Nutraceuticals. Yes, they do seem to help me. I'm kind of sensitive to Zyme Prime so I only take a small amount of that one...not a whole capsule. I've been off the enzymes for a couple weeks now because of the stool tests....hoping to get back on them soon. I take No Fenol by itself... -

I guess my documentation is all right here on this board...well, mostly in the pages of the OMG thread. I posted everything as I learned it...as well as all of my experiences, doctor appts, treatments, etc. So if I forget something its all there.....I just have to find it in a search. The research has been like a fun "project" for me....I dont know... -

Linda, I wanted to thank you for all your words of encouragement. Without the support of people on this forum (especially those who have posted in the OMG thread over the past couple years) I would definately not have been as strong and as determined as I've been. I gained alot of strength from the the friends I've met here. I dont think I'd be... -

Wow Tracy...you had alot going on! I had alot of stresses too. Right before the symptoms appeared I was trying to get pregnant...but within a month I got hit with all the symptoms...so now thats been on hold for almost 6 years now. Anyways I had the fillings drilled out unsafely (didnt even know about mercury at that time)...that same week I went... -

Interesting about the genes. I'm not very good at interpreting them....it kind of makes my head spin. Its weird how I cant retain all this info...and have such a good understanding...but as soon as I see any "numbers"....everything just kind of goes haywire! No...there is no enzyme available to correct the problem. Whatever is causing the problem needs to be identified and corrected. The whole description that I just gave has to do with one enzyme system in the body. So people having problems with this particular enzyme will have the issues with phenols. There are many other problems that can develop from... -
