ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something

I had my phone consult with Dr. A. earlier...it went really well. We discussed alot of different things and I've got some new things to work on to help us get a better picture. She's been really working hard on this phenol issue since I last saw her. She's done alot of research and talked with different doctors trying to find out everything she... -

ARCHIVED Mercury Poses Health Risks...
Rachel--24 replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Here is the protocol....usually followed only by holistic or biological mercury-free dentists. Unfortunately, most regular dentists dont take these precautionary steps because many of them believe that there is no risk to the patient or to themselves. My dentist was one who believed every word written by the ADA....and after he drilled out my fillings... -
Gerri, The problem with sulfur foods is usually a metabolic issue....meaning its not so much an "allergic reaction" (although you can be getting that reaction from the sulfa/sulfites). If you cant tolerate natural sulfur in foods it can be because your body is unable to convert sulfur to sulfate....which is a necessary process in the body and crucial...

Kassandra...good news! I'm glad it went well and that there was no allergic reaction! YAY! Sorry it hurt accessing the port but hopefully by the next infusion you will have had more time to heal from the surgery. I almost cried last week when I had my DMPS because they were missing my vein for some reason. I have really good veins all over... -

I do agree that these can be scary words for someone who is using this method and there are several here who are young , scared and in the very early stages of treatment. I also think that abx certainly has its place in treating Lyme....however, some people may not yet be in a place where their body is ready to accept this method of treatment. I think... -

Paula, I think that any of the detox methods we discuss here can be beneficial. I dont know if she has a mercury burden from amalgams or other sources....but mercury tends to accumulate in the kidneys more than any other organ. If she has that burden on her kidneys heavy metal detox would be very helpful. I'm glad she's feeling better having her teeth... -

Nancy, I have had similar experiences but I'm not sure if its for the same reasons. My system is very overwhelmed so that many things which (under normal circumstances) should be beneficial actually cause more stress. For example...glutathione. I cant tolerate it because my sulfur metabolism is impaired. If not for that...obviously glutathione would... -
Eggs yolks are high in sulfur. I dont tolerate any foods which are high sulfur. Do you also notice problems with foods such as garlic and onions?? If so...it is likely that you cannot tolerate foods with a high sulfur content.

Awww Paula I'm so sorry that you're having to go through this. {{{hugs}}} I'm glad you had a nice day with your mom and yeah...its a really good feeling when people notice that you're looking healthier. It sounds like you've been feeling better and that will show on the outside too. I can understand how you must feel and being worried about your... -
ARCHIVED Mercury Poses Health Risks...
Rachel--24 replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Yeah...I see the fillings being phased out very slowly rather than banned because of the health risks involved. It sucks but thats the reality. There would be an enormous amount of lawsuits...most of the people in this country have (or have had) amalgams. There would also be lawsuits from the parents who have children born with high levels of... -

The ADA states... As far as the ADA is aware, the FDA has in no way changed its approach to, or position on, dental amalgam. What??!! It seems like the ADA is trying to "downplay" the new warnings regarding mercury fillings and health risks. There is no mention of this at all in the ADA's "response". The FDA has clearly changed its position... -

I've had my composites in for about 4 years without any problems. Originally, when the dentist who drilled out my first 2 amalgams discussed my options for crowns....he gave me a choice of gold or white composite. I said I wanted the composites....because they'd be white and would look better than the gold. He then gave me a big speech about how the... -

Rachel--24 replied to jasonD2's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Yes....I had a broken filling for two years and when I finally went in for a cleaning the dentist informed me that it needed to be replaced with a crown...and also one other filling needed replacement as well (he said it was deteriorating). I only had 4 fillings total. I was not aware that there were any risks...or that I was about to be exposed to... -

ARCHIVED Gluten Sensitivity/leaky Gut
Rachel--24 replied to jasonD2's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
If you are genetically susceptible this viral infection (or any traumatic event) could have triggered Celiac Disease. Sometimes there are additional problems...so that even if you are sure its Celiac (and are follwing the diet) you could still have other contributers to digestive issues and leaky gut. If you DONT have Celiac then the same traumatic event... -

Paula, it actually got changed to today. I said my goodbye's yesterday. It was hard.....harder than I thought it would be. So yeah...I guess I remembered how to cry because the tears just kept coming the past couple days. I'm not Cameron Diaz anymore....ok well maybe I'm Cameron Diaz at the end of the movie...cuz I "found" my tears. I'll... -

Also, Donna....the skewed minerals in the provoked urine challenge dont mean anything. Its not an indicator of what is going on in your body. The chelator pulls out this stuff preferentially so those results cant determine any clear abnormalities. The only one that really mattered to me was copper because it was increasingly elevated in my challenge tests... -

Awww Donna....I'm sorry things didnt go so great yesterday. I'd be bummed too. Did you tell him that you'd like to do more DMPS treatments to see how the results appear after a few more tries? I find that with Dr. S. you have to be kind of letting him know what direction you want to go in and you have to let him know what you think. I think he actually... -

Has anyone seen THIS yet?? --------------------------- WASHINGTON (June 5) - Silver-colored metal dental fillings contain mercury that may cause health problems in pregnant women, children and fetuses, the Food and Drug Administration said on Wednesday after settling a related lawsuit. ARCHIVED Celiac Testing
Rachel--24 replied to AliB's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I wonder about the ages of those diagnosed Celiacs with DQ2.2 or DQ7?? I would think that if some of them are very young it would indicate that it doesnt necessarily take any longer for villi to become damaged than in a person who has DQ2 or DQ8. Is there any info. like that available?? It would be interesting to see. -

Hmmm...this is interesting. Glutamine and glutamate are two different amino acids (from what I understand). I'm not sure if l-glutamine is actually glutamic acid.....I tried to look it up right now but came up with "mixed" results. I'm not sure which is true....is it or isnt it?? I'm sensitive to the food chemicals...salicylates, amines, glutamates... -

I think so too. I took the saliva test a couple years ago and they actually didnt look as bad as the Dr. had anticipated....unfortunatly I couldnt take anything to help it because I was really reactive to everything. At that time I didnt know what a HUGE issue salicylates were for me and everytime I took anything herbal I was getting alot worse. Now... -

Its possible that you have gluten intolerance but I think there's a real strong possibility its Celiac. If the quack Dr. had known what he was doing he would have referred you to a GI for a biopsy. He also should have ordered the tTG with your bloodwork...and he didnt. I think at this point you know you need to be gluten free either way because your...
