ARCHIVED Celiac Testing
Rachel--24 replied to AliB's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Osteoporosis is a complication of Celiac Disease (if left untreated) because of poor nutrient absorption due to damage in the intestinal tract. Normal apsorption is usually restored once the diet is implemented and healing has taken place. Basically, the same complications can occur if other conditions which leave the gut in an unhealthy state are left... -

Hmmmm...I'm actually not aware of that being possible with BioSET. I dont think its possible for BioSET to distinguish between active infections and sensitivities. Thats why additional testing is necessary and BioSET cant be used to diagnose any type of disease condition. -

No kidding. When food proteins are injected they are toxic and they produce an immune response. For this reason they are purposely included in the vaccines to help "jumpstart" the immune system. Gelatin has become a common allergen since the early 90's and studies link this to sensitization from vaccines containing gelatin. -

If gluten sensitivity is a "symptom" or a "consequence" of another problem ocurring in body (and it often is) I dont understand how we would benefit from an official diagnosis of gluten sensitivity?? Most of us who are non-celiac are sensitive to many foods.....would it make sense to have a medical diagnosis of "casein sensitivity....or "soy sensitivity"... -

No...it doesnt work that way. Chemical chelators have a strong attraction for metals...this is their purpose. If a person still has fillings in place I dont know of any Dr. who would start chelation therapy until they are removed. The ones that do this are the ones that are putting the patient at great risk. The rule is "First do no harm"...You have... -

I had a ton of stuff show up in BioSET. BioSET doesnt actually diagnose these pathogens....only that your body is sensitized to them. Most of the population has been exposed to HHV-6....we are usually exposed during the first couple years of life. Having this show up in BioSET does not mean that this infection is active now. Thats not the way BioSET works... -
Unfortunately, gelatin has become a very common allergen. I'm not sure if its because its high in glutamate or some other reason...but people have become sensitive to it more than they were in the past.

I agree. The immune system is not strengthened by multiple vaccines...it is WEAKENED. The immune system can become dysfunctional due to the burden of so many toxins and pathogens all administered in a short time span. -

I would have to strongly disagree with these statements. As of THIS YEAR thimerosal has not been completely removed from vaccines....and as previously stated most people are getting the flu shot which does contain thimerosal. -

Thats a good one! I actually suffer from that one....."painful cranium syndrome"....I've had it for 5 years now. I was getting "treated" for it for awhile too. Lots and lots of pills for my "PCS". -

Wow...does that mean you couldnt even see the boxes?? Could you see the "samples" on the bottom? I think I would have gotten frusterated if I couldnt see the lines at all. I know I was pretty bothered by the few that looked totally blank to me. Since I had seen all the other boxes so clearly I was wondering why those few were showing me nothing. I was... -

Yeah...I checked alot of them. I tested positive for parts A and B. I've had most of the symptoms but I think the source of toxicity isnt related to biotoxins...so I passed the VCS. Heres my results: 0 - you have this symptom more often than when you were well 1 - you have this symptom only slightly more often since becoming ill 2 - you have this... -

By the way....how was the VCS for you guys that took it?? Could you guys not see the bars? For me the lines were pretty clear I went through it really fast because I could see everything on the screen. Towards the end there were a few that appeared blank to me. I was thinking I wouldnt do well because one of my symptoms I get from food chemicals is blurred... -

I know....its CRAZY! I still cant believe it myself.....even though these infections arent a big problem for me its still hard to imagine that I'd pass ANY kind of toxicity test! Yeah....it was a nice birthday present...but we'll see how well I do on the porphyrin test. That one is indicating toxicity from heavy metals. -

Poor digestion, enzyme deficiencies, bacteria, parasites, yeast, leaky gut....and a long list of additional factors can lead to symptoms of "irritable bowel" as well as an intolerance to gluten. Sometimes gluten is the cause of the irritable bowel....sometimes there is more to it....either way you should avoid it until you can determine *why* you are having... -

I communicated with Scott about my VCS results. He said the test is not for mercury....its for biotoxins...so basically the toxins produced by living organisms. Thats what I was hoping because since those things dont show up in ART....and mercury does...then it does make sense that I would pass the test. However, there is this statement on the... -

Paula...I highlighted the ones that have been problems for me. I think if you are having this many symptoms and they arent totally resolving then you probably should continue trying to get to the bottom of it. -

Paula, I agree that the mold and Lyme arent the big issues for me. I would totally *know* if I was in an environment where I was exposed to toxic mold....and I *know* that I'm not. My Dr. drilled me about this during my first couple visits with him because its such a common cause of chronic illness symptoms. My house was brand new...I watched it it be... -

Julie, do you have problems with salicylates or high phenol foods? Cocoa is a huge one....I have problems with sunflower and vanilla too. I think in *most* cases where we're reacting to foods its not the foods themselves we're reacting to....its the chemical make-up of the food or the added ingredients. The list is long which is why its hard to figure... -

Heres a list of neurotoxins...in order of importance. (i)Heavy metals: mercury, lead, cadmium, iron, manganese and aluminum (are the most common). Common Sources: metallic mercury vapor escapes from dental amalgam fillings (they contain about 50 % mercury, the rest is zinc, silver copper, tin and trace metals). Cadmium: car fumes, cigarette smoke ... -

Andrea, I know! It actually does make sense to me though. Especially since bugs dont really show up as huge stressors for me. Even though they're there they're just not doing much...they arent contributing much to my symptoms. I dont think we would have ever known that without ART. I think in my case the ART and the other tests (including... -

Going back to some posts I wanted to respond to yesterday. Awww Lisa....I hope you're feeling less of the "blah's" today. We all get hit with days like that. There's days I feel like that too....its just that I forgot to how to cry or something. Maybe my body just released enough tears in the first few years to last me the rest of my... -
I'm not sure where anyone was ignorant about the source of gelatin in this thread?? We arent born knowing all of this stuff. We learn it along the way...by asking questions and by sharing info. as we learn it. Isn't that why we're all here afterall? I dont consider myself to be ignorant because I wasnt aware of the source of gelatin until only a couple...

Hi Rinne! I love your updates...they always make me smile. Glad you are still feeling good and still busy making this place "your own". OMG....you guys arent gonna believe this.
