  1. Spent the night hurling and D. No food shopping done, kids pressies not wrapped, carpets no longer recognize vacuum, 3 year old friends party later, not got present for DH yet. Strangely still feel pretty optimistic though, although Mr Mindwarp is exhausted :-\ Dinner will probably be scrambled egg... We are also just coming up to our 1 year leaving...
  2. Ah, but some people seem better at getting dumb luck than others. Great work Dad ;-)
  3. Myquest it is great to hear things are improving so well for you. I wish all the best for the holidays, and hope you continue to improve next year :-)
  4. Hey Wolfie that is fantastic news :-D .. Have a great Christmas
  5. Even people who do care get things staggeringly wrong. For a recent family party, someone baked a beautiful gluten-free cake so I could share. We checked the ingredients. Main one - almond flour. Fine for me, not so good for my anaphylactic son. And they had looked so pleased with themselves.
  6. Woo hoo, thanks IH. Mr Mindwarp is our baker, so that gives me 3 days to source coconut flour as a 'treat' for him
  7. Is there a good alternative to almond flour? My son is anaphylactic to almond, but they are in so much baking. I want the pumpkin bread :'(
  8. nottoworry for now then have a great holiday. (VeggieGal, you should be able to choose throat spray or sedation (UK). The gagging with throat spray is normal and they should be able to talk you through. Maybe phone in advance and check the proceedure where you are. Going for the knock out should be fine, just take someone with you after as you can be...
  9. Good when it is done, isn't it Let us know how it goes. Are you gluten-free now?
  10. OMG there is a guy on TV here who is cooking a ham joint in a bacon crust. I got distracted, but he marinated the bacon in treacle 4h, put the ham in a big pot in apple juice with star anise and clove. Then put the bacon on the ham and roast 15 to 20 mins. He served it with roast pumpkin.
  11. All sounds very familiar Lysistrata was pretty racey too! I liked the anthropology side. We did the semiotics of humor too, possibly the least amusing approach possible, like someone explaining a joke you already got. I found it funny for that reason. I think my students thought I was deranged. Much of it was reflected through postmodern philosophy...
  12. At least that means you can run to the bathroom now ( I know some days that's not funny. I take a pillow too and sleep on the floor then )
  13. I read we have until 11.11 am before it is all over. I can't decide whether to bother finishing my Christmas shopping... Loey I'd love a prayer for all of our friends on the forum who are in pain and suffering, and to give thanks for being blessed with all the love and support from each other. Thanks And hugs to you x
  14. I find a hot water bottle nice
  15. Most excellent. I used to teach about theories of humor and comedy, from Freud to The Simpsons. Punning is my favorite. I think my dyslexia helps.
  16. I think lots of people get useless (to them at least) gifts. A teacher friend was deluged with chocolate, wine and perfumed cosmetics every Christmas. She was allergic to all of them, but appreciated the thought and passed them on. It is annoying, but probably not personal. Have a lovely Christmas
  17. ButterflyChaser that diss sounds very interesting When I was working I used to take copious notes in meetings and workshops, and in lectures as a student. I almost never read them again, but if I didn't do it I remembered nothing. It was like I had to 'code' the words via movement.
  18. Good work siw. Any chance of chillin for a bit ?
  19. I wondered about the start of warts, not sure though
  20. Minced (ground?) Lamb, zucchini, mushrooms, tom puree, canned toms, garlic, sage, rosemary, oregano, black pepper. Cooked in 10 mins, served with grated mature cheddar. It was a chuck it in thing, but really tasty
  21. I can safely say I didn't enjoy my challenge and lasted 3 weeks, too short to show up, long enough to make me ill for several months.
  22. Hahaha, fantastic. I had pizza by the metre in Italy, but 2m was the biggest we managed. Go go gluten-free pizza.
  23. Wow. You must be so proud, that is fantastic
  24. This is starting to shape up nicely. I am wondering if love2 has any tricks in the bag that might extend to cloning. :)
