ARCHIVED Maltodextrin
Celiac Mindwarp replied to Hala's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I am in the UK and have found most doctors sceptical about allergy testing except skin prick testing. My son did have a blood test done when he refused skin prick testing. You may have to be quite peristent and check out what services are available at your hospital and try and get referred. My GI was pretty dismissive, so I will have to try another route... -

ARCHIVED Tyvm For This Forum!
Celiac Mindwarp replied to WCeline's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Come on in :-) Angry seems pretty normal to start with. Lots of us worked it out ourselves, and then to add insult to injury had to convince our doctors. You will find some great help here as you transition to a new diet ( and more besides). I am not sure why you need to wean before testing. If you could tell us why that might be needed we might be... -
ARCHIVED Celiac Vaccine? Not For Me
Celiac Mindwarp replied to Opa3's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I don't want to find out in 10 years that they botched the clinical trials. Not exactly unknown. How about cleaning up food production and labeling? I really do believe we are the vanguard in learning to eat properly again. The rest of the west is mostly just poisoning itself more slowly than us. That'll be a no for me thanks -
ARCHIVED Celiac's Not Sticking To The gluten-free Diet
Celiac Mindwarp replied to tennisman's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
KMMO320, glad you keep coming here, there is obviously a part of you that is ready to deal with this disease. Lots of us are self diagnosed and have to live with it. Occasionally I wonder if it is really true, and then I give myself a good slap and get on with it. You said you think you may have a psychological problem. If the people here are not enough... -

Just wondering if we should update and consider onesies for winter instead of muumus? I am having cheese for dinner. Maybe I should have something with it, but that would be adding unnecessary extra calories. -

Sausage and mash for dinner. Supper was stilton camembert port salut and soft goats cheese. Two more days of cheese to go. Nice bit of brie in the fridge for tomorrow. So that is 6 remaining meals, or, as I like to think of it, 6 opportunities for cheese and bacon. 2nd January here we come... -
Great news on improvements, good isn't it? I'm about a month ahead of you now and really seeing benefits. I never Thought of the jaw thing, mine is better too. It is astonishing how many things you think of as normal, until they go. I am off to a dietitian soon but not holding out much hope.. Have a fantastic new year

We have friends for dinner, roast chicken and veg. Seen off the last of the turkey encores today. My Mum loves turkey soup so we helped her freezer... Contemplating whole30 next week. I am seeing a dietitian soon, bet they''ll hate it. I need to lose plenty, am feeling quite a lot better and think some elimination tests would be good. I need to try dairy... -

ARCHIVED Dh Rash Bleeding Now
Celiac Mindwarp replied to GFreeMO's topic in Dermatitis Herpetiformis
It can help to wash/scrub in cold water 1st for blood stains, preferably ASAP. Hot water can set the stain. A quick scrub in cold, some oxy straight on then the washer is pretty good. -

Celiac Mindwarp replied to jlaw's topic in Dermatitis Herpetiformis
Great if you can get him to another dermatologist. Sorry you have to see him go through that again. When I took my son for his skin prick gets and blagged a celiac panel I was great being strong while with him, but blubbed and shook once dh could take over. Just to say I feel for you. Good luck, sounds like you are doing a great job x -

ARCHIVED Chronic Non-Specific Dermatitis...
Celiac Mindwarp replied to jlaw's topic in Dermatitis Herpetiformis
I have a sneaky technique - I'd go back and say there seems to have been a mistake and I know you were very keen to get a biopsy on clear skin as we know how important it is, so we can sort it out quickly today. Or something like that. I had forgotten that you were in India with a very traditional doctor. Sometimes getting what you want without having... -

ARCHIVED Recovery From Neuropathy - Symptoms?
Celiac Mindwarp replied to AlwaysLearning's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hello I have been gluten-free since September, and I noticed this week that I am no longer suffering from painful thickened skin on my feet. I also suffered from plantar faciitus (pain in the tendons under the heel) and that disappeared a few weeks in. It comes back now if I get glutened. Glad to hear you are getting some improvements, can't help... -

Thanks Irish :-) I have picked up now, Mr Mw did the shopping and life is good. I knew I could count on you for a celebration. Now, if only I can get emoticons to work since my phone upgrade, I am set for a fantastic 2013 :-) B-) :-* :-D O:-) :-P <3 -

Really pleased to hear your good news, not having cancer must be a relief. The surgery you described and location of the tumor sounds manageable. All the very best for Christmas and for the start of your healing. Mw x
