  1. I think it is lovely. Made my day to hear that
  2. Brown rice pasta with sauce of smashed butternut squash, bacon and chicken stirred through, little bit of strong cheddar on top. Surprisingly good Bacon jam would work with it too.
  3. I'll have to get one of mine trained up. Might have to take a cut though
  4. Will have to leave that question to a greater authority then. Good luck with the lessons Mr Mindwarp has offered to set up my Mum's PC ,and teach her. I am so much not in the building when that happens.
  5. What a shame this article recommends trying 60 days gluten free without saying that it will then be extremely difficult to get accurate celiac testing. Do the testing first if you possibly can....
  6. There is a button towards the bottom of the full version to switch to mobile version. It works on my phone, not sure how it would apply to the kindle fire. Then there is a single button at the bottom of mobile to switch back to full. PS, jealous, fancy one of those
  7. I came to realize I had celiac problems via Atkins too. I think there is a good chance you may have been gluten light for the last few months. This could well affect your blood tests and any later biopsy. Well worth going back and emphasising this to your doctor and getting advice on how long you need to eat gluten on a daily basis. It is often 6...
  8. Is it time to shift some of this debate to another thread?
  9. Hello again I wonder if you could speak to a specialist about doing the endoscopy given your previous surgery history? Most people in the UK seem to be offered either a sedative or to be awake and have an anaesthetic throat spray. Normally I'd say the throat spray would be fine, but there is a tendency to gag on the tube. Again, normally that is ok...
  10. My Mum just made us turkey, carrots, French beans broccoli and potatoes. Very kind, I spent the day in bed with a head cold.
  11. I'm doing a headcold and cough today, sympathy there. Wow, great on the weight loss, good going
  12. I'm 'lucky', the smell of toast makes me feel sick now, so I'd be fighting you for that new cubicle but for different reasons!
  13. Hi I am in the UK too. It seems to vary between doctors here whether they will diagnose with just blood tests, or insist on biopsy. If you are diagnosed by biopsy you should get access to gluten-free food on prescription, though some areas are cutting back on this. If you are going to have a biopsy you will need to be eating gluten beforehand...
  14. My pleasure. It was the cutest thing to see. (Though the robin incident was hilarious!!!)
  15. BMs welcome here! Sounds great if they are more normal, seems to happen for quite a few of us. Tiredness along with insomnia are the slowest to improve for me. I am 3 months gluten-free now and definitely was up and down to start. A few weeks in I felt better than I had for maybe 7 years. Maybe 80%. I got glutened and dropped from that, but I would...
  16. Shadow Did the kitty present have catnip/catmint by any chance? We had a pretend robin on the tree one year, and saw the cat do that crouch down butt wiggle, but we were the other side of the room and could do nothing to prevent the demise of the robin. My Mum's cat used to tap some little bell decorations and ring them.
  17. A kid here a couple of years ago was named IKEA. Nice work Mum and Dad.
  18. I offered to load the dishwasher a few pages ago... And I don't mind sharing jobs
  19. Was there a cabana boy needed looking after, I heard? Or I could repair the split seams on all your muumuus?
  20. Yeay for your 180!! Sounds like you learned your lessons the real hard way. Great you are already feeling the benefits of 'true' gluten-free living. My story is different, I didn't know I might be celiac but was wheat free mostly for years. It is horrid addictive stuff and every now and again I would have a little and be wrecked. I still dont have...
  21. I meltdown down in a store because I couldn't find anything to eat right about 3 weeks. Floods of tears and everything. I think it was reality of lack of convenience hitting. All sounds pretty normal to me. Hang in there.
  22. I think it is a brilliant idea for you to come here. It can be lonely for anyone starting out. Keep at it, you know you are going in the right direction
