  1. Ooh medjool dates and mascarpone cheese. And I felt I should fess up to my gluten-free brownie addiction as mentioned in another thread (but they mess with my blood sugar)
  2. Oh yeay, we might have forgotten when we all gave you that great advice that most of us do our fair share of shouting, crying, foot stamping, sulking etc when we realize that thd gluten-free thing really actually is it, for life. Venting good. gluten-free brownies good. Forum good.
  3. I dont have diabetes so bare that in mind... I find using sugar and candy tends to make my blood sugar swing about to much and sets me up for a crash if I do it anything other than occasionally. I like things with good fats and protein. Avocado is good. Maybe other nuts as butters. Not sure if seeds ok texturally, I like sunflower and pumpkin mixed...
  4. I had limited gluten for years as I was wheat free 9 years. Gluten free is so different. My life is transformed. Dreadful advice you got there. Hope you find a way through, keep asking questions
  5. That gluten challenge is just barbaric. I did 3 weeks and took 4 months to get over it. Oh, and they lost my blood test at the lab .
  6. Chicken Korma and rice.
  7. I'm Scorpio too. I'm saying nothing
  8. That's so great you got it sorted out, brilliant job. Your food sounds yummy. I've noticed everyone thinks my food looks better than theirs when I take my own
  9. Hello again I had a good few weeks head in the sand before coming off, and a panic about 3 weeks in, which seems quite common. I'm almost 3 months now and it is becoming normal. The boards are great for transition, when you will discover loads more questions. And no one seems to mind that hundreds have asked before! Endoscopy will be fine, take someone...

  13. Yeay, go for it :)
  14. Quick check on coeliac uk It is 20ppm now, since 2008. There is a very low gluten category 21 to 200ppm. Looks like the 200 was used historically. I love my inner geek
  15. Well, if it is an unproductive butt it sounds marginally more appealing ()
  16. I have sometimes struggled with coeliac uk advice. They do some great stuff, but do seem to have some quirks. I am interested in the malt and malt vinegar questions (as long as we dont hijack the thread...)
  17. I'm with take your own, with as brief an explanation as you can get away with The idea of taking something gluten-free for all to share is great. So far, the more matter of fact I am the easier it seems to be. I go with things like 'I just want to make sure I can enjoy some time with all of you, and bringing my own food means I can do that...
  18. Hi Sounds like a good doctor. We seem to be following a similar path. My bloods came back normal, if low normal. My biopsy was normal, though I have a small hernia. Luckily a doctor told me to quit ibuprofen years ago because of my stomach problems (now, I wonder what could have been doing that for 20 plus years??) My new GI covered the we can't confirm...
  19. DingoGirl There must be some kind of multiquotes award for that last post. I thought for a minute I was having a flashback. Mushroom I think you are right about Charles. No way is he handing over. It was his birthday yesterday (along with one of my best friends, I can't quote birthdays for the rest of the family). Sorry you missed him. You...
  20. ravenwoodglass Can you tell us more about the double gene? My GI took bloods for genetic testing Monday, so I want to be ready in case it is negative. I am not sure which tests are done in the UK, but he was very clear his view is no genes no celiac. He was very helpful and listened. I am always up for educating a doctor if necessary Thanks
  21. Q what do you call a fish with no eyes? A a fsh
  22. This is great everyone, thanks I think I am starting to see a format that would work for me. I think if my husband can sort a chart on my phone I will do that, otherwise notebook with food one page and reactions opposite sounds good to start. My inner geek likes the tech solution, but it closed down my phone when I accessed the site ! Thanks...
  23. Stay on gluten while you get tested if you possibly can while you get a diagnosis. It is harder if not impossible if you are gluten-free already to get accurate testing. Given improvement already, when you do go gluten-free, if appropriate, you may find it easier than you think. I had to do a gluten challenge to reintroduce it before testing and thought...
