  1. Just got my 1st crockpot!! So, fingers crossed pork (loin!) with leeks onions carrots with sage and tarragon. Put a few bits of potato, hoping it will thicken a bit. More excited than is reasonable
  2. Hi I saw my new GI yesterday (will say more elsewhere, excellent experience). He recommend I keep a food diary before I see the dietitian he is referring me to (yeay). Thing is I dont really know how to do that in a way that I can see patterns. I am looking for dealing with some low vit levels, assorted food sensitivity and a need to lose weight...
  3. If that's what she's after she's trying to tickle it out through my ears with her whiskers...
  4. Glad all ok. Kitties are good to cuddle when it's cold. Well except that mine has started to try and cuddle my head, as if she were a tabby Russian hat
  5. Wow SMDBill, that's fantastic. I know some people are really sad (by which I probably mean resistant!) to dropping coffee. It is so long for me I dont really remember. I hope hearing your experience persuades some people to try it.
  6. Thanks guys, not sure I'd have done it without you. Feels good, getting some more me back
  7. I'm nearly 3 months in and did my first trip away and first coffee shop with (gluten-free) cake this week - and survived. I even ate before I went out for dinner and had a cug of tea at the restaurant, like folks here said. To be honest I thought it sounded awful, but do you know what? I had a great time. I know I will eventually eat out too, but baby steps...
  8. Oh no. I wish I could send hot soup and a ton of blankets Hope you manage to get home today af that all is ok x
  9. I think I would see a doctor immediately to check. Others may have additional advice but I would not hang around if it is still there.
  10. Yes, I had to give it up years ago. I gave up tea then too, but have recently been able to reintroduce tea. Varies a lot for people though.
  11. Hiya, I have been here about 3 months and am from UK too. There are fantastic folks here, and lots of super bright bunnies. Ask lots of questions!
  12. So - I did it!!! It feels so good. I fed myself just fine. I think I took about twice as much as I needed. I took packed lunch each day, and chatted to others on the course. In the evening I popped back to my hotel, ate loads so I wasn't hungry, then joined the others who were eating and had a pot of tea. I told them I had a new diet and had already...
  13. I am crying here, for you and for me - I had actually FORGOTTEN how bad I was with this disease. I was dragging myself about, no idea how I would get the energy to go and pick up the kids, poor husband shattered from all the extra work. Feeling bad about not playing with my kids enough. It will get better once you STOP THE GLUTEN. I found that though...
  14. I have had this too. I would regularly eat a meal then have a snack straight after. It has mostly gone now gluten-free. It truly felt like I was starving, and I now think it was a result of lack of absorption. I seem to benefit from sublingual b12 and a good multivitamin. I forgot to take them away with me recently, and cravings came back again...
  15. But also to let you know lots of us, especially once gluten-free, do successfully have children. But it can be an issue.
  16. OK, I now see my confusion at the tumbleweed post. In my mind, the daisy dukes and the waxing appointment were linked
  17. You dont have to, luckily SIW! I never quite finished the postgrad studies in the end, got distracted by lecturing. Ah, tumbleweeds huh? Thanks for that. Not sure about the rest of the stuff there, but slightly intregued where the daisy dukes thing was headed...
  18. Severe blunting but no explanation sounds very odd to me. Definitely needs more investigation. Good luck with the detective work
  19. No, wait, is this silence to freek out the newbies 2 ?
  20. Maybe print out some stuff for mother in law to be. Lots of people dont get that it is not a trendy phase you are going through. Maybe if she sees a list of symptoms and complications it might help her to understand. Though plenty of people have family and friends that dont. I am the only one gluten-free in my house and it is possible, but takes a lot...
  21. Tom I managed to string out my university years to 11, wonderful days, but you'd not catch me doing it again now! It just took me 3 years to get round to a 13 000 word imformal assignment... I get the smartphone issue :o :o SIW Sounds fun if hard work I did a load of anthropology in amoungst social science ane media stuff. I love the methodology...
  22. Dreadful isn't it? I asked a number of doctors for help with weight loss over the years. Several have said eat less and exercise more. D'oh, if only I thought of that...
  23. Yeay, my hed is jue a gud explowshun
  24. My last weyrdy dreem involved a mega intelligent talking toad lecturing me from its burrow. Might just be to much Shrek though I think Eyed go for maybe a Barbie head for the tub.
