  1. Just made "Better than Sex" chex mix. It tasted great before I added the Drizzles and salt even.
  2. The drinking could have messed you up, what were you drinking? When I had c-diff, alcohol and diary made everything ten times worse.
  3. I'm eight weeks gluten free, except for accidents, the change I noticed immediately was I was no longer sicker after eating than before I ate. Looking back over the eight weeks, I see less body aches and headaches, more regular bowel patterns, a little more energy. Hoping that energy level continues to improve
  4. Ok, thinking it was what I ate, D gone today. I will not go back there even though it was a favorite Mexican place. It's no not worth it. Still neausated but I'll stay that way the whole 10 days taking Augmentin
  5. I think I had something with gluten in it at lunch today--started feeling sick to my stomach within an hour and D started at about two hrs, still have it 9hrs later. Reason I ask, is my normal reaction is sick to stomach and feel like going to have D but its actually C. I also started antibotic about 4hrs after lunch and I've had c-diff before. So now I...
  6. Thanks Lisa, sometimes I just feel dumb like missing the barley malt ingredient not once but twice (when I bought it and before eating it) . Love your switch foot quote.
  7. Can the source of the gluten make a difference...wheat vs barley? I seem to have more stabbing pain with barley
  8. Been gluten free 7-8 wks, got gluten first day (thursday) of mini vacation. Stopped by mom & pop place that hand patties there burgers, have had there hamburger steak before but really was craving a burger so ordered it without the bun with only cheese, ketsup and mustard. Mistake, came to find out the stretch their burger meat with crackers and milk...
  9. Was gluten free 5 wks and caved to 6 pizza rolls on Wednesday, felt bad for a few days then started feeling better. Now my tummy hurts and D is visiting again, could it still be pizza rolls? Or have I accidentally had something else (lunch was maybe 1/4 deli chicken salad-the deli let me look at ingredient list-with gluten free crunchmasters)?
  10. Thanksgiving was 5 weeks for me. During this time, I have found sometimes it is easier to bring your own food. I have brought ham/cheese roll-up into Wendy's to go with chili (informed the person checking me out that I couldn't eat the crackers and what I had brought in, she said that was fine). Have taken my own soy sauce into a Japanese restaurant and asked...
  11. That's when I started getting better also, I added fiber gummies and a probiotic from Costco to my intake. 5 weeks in and I go most every day. Nice soft formed and it no longer floats (means I'm now absorbing nutrients).
  12. Truthfully it just depends on how sensitive you are. I don't have a formal diagnosis, either. I can tell usually within an hour if I have accidentally had gluten. I feel as if I have the stomach flu when I eat it now. Before going gluten free 5 weeks ago, I just always felt bad.
  13. It took about two weeks for me to really notice a difference. At first I just started feeling a little less sick. Hang in there.
  14. The chicken and waffle thing is definitely southeast, but none for me EVER. It just looks so not paired well together, but keep in mind the joke in my house is I'm not southern (born and raised in the south) and sometimes I'm not American. All because I don't eat southern foods (grits, sweet tea, etc) and I didn't watch movies or a lot of tv growing up....
  15. I just made a crustless pumpkin pie. It looks great, no burned edges on the crust . Also posted a peanut butter Blondies recipe on another thread. My SIL liked it without knowing it was gluten free.
  16. These are pretty good. Very much like a brownie. Even my SIL liked them, I asked her to taste them that they were made without oil. She said they were good, so told here they were also gluten free
  17. First off, I'm not a cook of regular food even. Followed the recipe to the letter (in oven now), but when I added the flour mix it was Soooo thick it all climbed into and up the beater. Normal for gluten free batter to be thicker or was it just the recipe? 2/3 cup peanut butter 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup sugar 1/4 cup apple sauce 2 eggs 1tsp vanilla...
  18. You mean all Rudi's are not gluten free? Does how much you get affect how bad symptoms are, such as CC symptoms less than eating slice of bread?
  19. Yes we will cook most of this. What usually happens when we cook (every Sunday) I make my plate before we start dinner. So on thanksgiving I would do my plate like normal and do an extra for the Dec 1. Both would be plated before guests arrive.
  20. Homemade beef stroganoff with a salad
  21. Wendy's chili and fries....hope I don't pay for this. Web site said it was gluten free and I asked if they fry anything else in the oil.
  22. Thanks for the stuffing ideas. DH is becoming more supportive (brought home some chips and a sweet that was gluten free), maybe because today makes 4 wks and I haven't gave in and ate anything . Our thanksgiving menu is now 2 fried turkeys, ham, Mac & cheese , mashed potato, gravy (2- one without gluten and giblet which I won't touch), green beans, potato...
  23. I take a prescription med-maxalt for mine along with a phenergan for the neausa. Since these both knock me out it works.
  24. It's so hard giving up comfort food; I went to Olive Garden for lasagna the night before blood test and forced myself to eat EVERY bite, lol. It will be three weeks Thursday for me and I still have periods of wanting to cry, usually when grocery shopping or trying to decide what to cook for supper. Hopefully he will decide feeling better is worth it, I did...
  25. Also consider counting your calories, you may not be taking in enough if you eats lots of veggies and fruits
