  1. Just wondering, did anybody have high platelets on their FBC results when diagnosed. My doctor seems to think my high platelets are due to possible bleeding... I thought I'd read somewhere that Celiac Disease could also cause this because of the inflammation caused??
  2. Hi KikiB Just wanted to let you know I have been gluten-free for 6-7 weeks... I've been through hell. I initially felt a bit better a few days into gluten-free, then suddenly just felt absolutely dreadful. I have had night sweats, joints hurting, muscles hurting, moving odd pains all over my body... Hair falling out, crying at the drop of a hat. Obviously...
  3. Thanks for your help, I'm sure you are right about it all. And I will definitely stick to this site in future, there's a wealth of information here. And some very lovely people
  4. It's very reassuring to have had you respond in such a way, I am very grateful for all your advice, even if you are (possibly like me) another hypochondriac! You obviously know much more than me, I have almost not been able to research celiac as I have felt too down and depressed about it. My doctor has referred me for an endoscopy as he thinks I might...
  5. I'm quite frightened now, I've just googled a few things. Also it seems as tho morbidity rates during the first 4 years of being diagnoed are high for celiacs. Wish I could go to doctor today... What should I ask for in terms of lymphoma?
  6. Thank you for your help. Lymphoma??? Omg. It's hard to say when things started, I had several bouts of long lasting diarrhea (3-4weeks each time) and bad bloating and gas for a few months. So it's hard to say if these pains started then or whether it's just since have been gluten-free. I wonder if they've been there whilst I had the other symptoms? Or they...
  7. Thank you for your reply. It's really hard to explain, but I'll try. Pains in my abdomen come and go, lasting from 3/4 seconds to 20 seconds max. Generally in two places mostly, being in the upper abdomen, and generally hurts in on one side or the other. The pains feel dull and achy. Then I also have pains that seem to move about, say one in my back for...
  8. Thank you all so much, you've been a great help... It's all so much to take in! I would never have believed how difficult it all is even though being veggie 25 years and dealing with allergies with my son has given me good practice. It's just hard when you're body is not well. And as I sit here typing, these odd moving pains always in the same place in my...
  9. Anyone out there suffer from odd pains that come and go, tend to be in the same places around the abdominal area and also sporadically around the body. Also having night sweats on and off, tired and sometimes wheezy... and glands seen to pinch sometimes... (Celiac. Been gluten free for 6 weeks)
  10. that is an interesting link thank you so much... I guess i feel a bit better knowing that although i'm all alone, i'm not actually all alone... (if that makes sense!) I thought it was strange as my night sweats only started 2-3 weeks after being gluten free... (i actually thought it was detox from gluten as i had aches and pains too), but guess it can...
  11. thank you for your help, i will ask for some hormone checks... just read that celiac and menopause are linked anyway... as for the cancer, i guess it's because i have been on google too much reading about celiacs and lymphoma/cancer... and cancer being diagnosed within 2-3 years of celiacs being diagnosed ie higher mobidity within first few years.... it...
  12. yes, am female... thank you for responding so quickly (i'm so desperate i have been sitting here waiting to see!) They checked my thyroid, all ok... Aren't I a bit young for the menopause?? I did consider it but kind of shrugged it off because i know my mum and older sister didn't even begin with symptoms until they were late 48-50. Thank you...
