  1. Been dairy free for 3 months and decided to try some cheese. So... I had 2 small blocks of hard cheddar. It tasted strong!! And nice! I felt full after eating it (haven't had that feeling for a while!). Then about half an hour later started a few noises. It actually sound like a puppy growling then whimpering. These noises came and went, nothing...
  2. Thanks guys, i really appreciate all your help. Sorry for the late response, I have been in a bit of a black hole these last 2 days with it all... (PMT doesn't help!). Takala, I have only just seen your post, as I havent logged in for a couple of days, couldn't even bear the forum! Anyway, thanks for all your help, I have changed doctors (as I have recently...
  3. Ooo! Well... That's put me in my place. Must admit though Irish heart, adding the dairy in scares me! And so does seeing how it goes with food allergies like egg and some of the others that make my throat funny (as I explained to her I come from a family and history of anaphylaxis). I thought I was being sensible with a food diary trying eliminate those...
  4. Thought you might like a laugh. 4 months on and I have attended my first dietitians appointment. I have been told the following: Eat cheese and dairy ( she didn't understand why I had cut them out, insisted I put them back in) Tried to show her my food diary (I was hoping for some help with the allergies I have been experiencing recently)... I was...
  5. Thanks Seeking, I've just had a quick read and it's very interesting... Will look into it properly as it seems that I'm gonna get pretty much zero support by my doc. (I was diagnosed with celiac Oct 17 with blood work.. Went gluten-free as they messed me around terribly, and I was so ill. They biopsied me dec 15, at about 8-9 weeks gluten-free, it confirmed...
  6. Oops! Excitement! I was saying that I know this for sure. It's not my imagination as my husband thinks so too. Whether this is due to my ferritin levels going up (therefore having more of a blood supply/nutrients to my teeth) or whether its directly related to some response of not eating gluten I cannot say. I assume its because of my ferritin as it was...
  7. I just wanted to update on teeth enamel... My first post on this thread I think was the 05 Jan. I would've been 10 weeks gluten free. Today I'm about 13 weeks. Omg. My teeth are changing! 4 months ago my teeth had taken on a transparent look to them. They've always been white but they looked 'thin'. This morning I looked into the mirror and I can say my...
  8. Lfitts, 6-12 months! That's exactly what I thought! Thanks for that. I do believe we are very behind on celiac here in the UK. I have had to spoon feed my docs bits of information from here. Some look at me like I'm crazy! (Especially when I say that I have cut out dairy and caffeine etc.) They all tell me how lucky I am to live in the UK and have so many...
  9. Ps . Takala... I'd love to use coconut oil, but can't have any nuts in the house due to my sons allergy to them. And you're right though, the ingredients list does have lots of rubbish in it... I just don't understand why I have become so sensitive to everything all of a sudden??? Why is my body reacting to anything and everything? Things I've been using...
  10. Takala! My cornflakes were from a strictly gluten free source... Well, so they say! As were the rice/corn snacks. So you think that it's more likely that I reacted from cross contamination as opposed to just having an intolerance? Perhaps then I will try some popcorn and see how that is. Thank you!! Hi Lisa! Just got my Internet installed at new house...
  11. Hello again I'm back for more advice... Corn... Seem to have developed some kind of intolerance. Ate some cornflakes... Big no no... But seem to tolerate some organic snack rice and corn cakes? Is it normal to tolerate smaller amounts? Also. If I eat corn, am I damaging myself like I would with wheat, barley etc? Is it the same as being glutened...
  12. That should've said 1 month not z month!
  13. Hello friends! Sorry for delayed response I've been cleaning kitchen cupboards for my new (almost) gluten-free kitchen! My doc has me on these vit d supplements for z month. Must admit I have stopped taking them. I may just take one every other day and take a normal lower dose one on the missing day?
  14. Thanks Diana, that's what I thought most here were on... And that's why I thought mine was particularly high!
  15. Thanks Kamma, very interesting! Perhaps my ailments are not related to the vit d then! It's just I saw that on the threads here most were on 2,000 or 3,000... And when I saw mine at 20,000! I wish I could grab my vit d naturally, I'd much prefer to sit in the sun. Fat chance in the UK though! Thanks again for all your help
  16. Just a quicky! My doctor has recently prescribed me vitamin d. The dose he's given me is 20,000 i.u. This 10,000% the daily amount. Isn't this too high?!! I've been taking them for over a week (hesitantly I must add), though I've stopped as the skin on my face has gone flaky and sore, and I've had gi ache (no idea if its related) What's the normal dosage...
  17. Where abouts are you Mindwarp? I found C UK a bit strange on advise, and they really push the gluten-free products too! Only my tcm practitioner (he's brilliant) gave decent advise about food and cutting the crap. He's the one that told I could eat whatever I wanted! As long as it wasn't processed, sugar, diary or contained caffeine. Oh and he said I shouldn...
  18. Thanks Irish heart. I am scrupulous to prepare my own food on surfaces that I have cleaned but the rest of my clan are not gluten-free (unfortunately for me)... I think if I were to get cc'd it'd be from that. My diet is pretty basic with my only treat being baby organic crisp chip things, gluten free and full of air! Also red wine. The rest is whole food...
  19. I know I keep saying it... But thank you! You've been a life line. Friends can only listen to so much, and my husband doesn't really get it! (I'm working on it!) I will dismiss the refractory right now, after all as you guys have told me already (I think it was you actually), its way too early. These gastro docs have a lot to answer for, sending out scary...
  20. Thanks for telling me that, about the tears. My husband looks at me incredulously. I feel like a freak sometimes! I guess it's because I'm still at stage 3 after a so many weeks (but guess you have the t-shirt for that one!), we all secretly hope are efforts are healing us. It's the refractory thing that petrified me I think, it just hangs there in the...
  21. I've just checked their dates and I was actually 9 weeks gluten free at biopsy... Thanks GottaSki. Actually I didn't ever get to read the newbie thread... Will do today. But I have been quite stringent (come from a family of severe allergy so used to reading ingredients. Maybe I've missed something else. Must admit I thought rice dream milk was gluten-free...
  22. I've just looked up on the marsh scale according to biopsy results and it seems that I'm on a marsh scale 3. Not very reassuring!
  23. The more I think about it the more I think my gastro is a complete twat.
  24. "Further to your recent endoscopy the duodenal biopsies show partial changes which confirm a diagnosis of Coeliac disease. The fact that there is no complete resolution of the changes despite you being on a gluten free diet suggest your diet is not fully compliant. This will be addressed further at review by the dietitians. Yours etc" I was biopsied at...
  25. Ps. Are cigarettes gluten free????
