  1. I seem to see some posts where people have managed to text in bold, colour and underscore. Plus the only smiley I can do is !! Where do I find out how to do these things? Im using the mobile site. Cheers
  2. Hi, I don't know if you have celiac, you really need to ask for blood tests but make sure youre still eating gluten. With regards to the throat swelling...I get that from my levothyroxine medication, milk and cheese..so looks like an allergic reaction for me with lactose or something which I'm getting checked out. You need to see your doctor. Good luck
  3. yep those stickers were once wonderful.....gone are those days ! ! !
  4. Hi Tarnalberry, thanks for that info... theres alot to think about. Guess i'm going to have to just try my best and take it one step at a time. Sooo much to learn, but I'll get there
  5. Cmw...Yes think im going to have to bribe him in some way to get him tested (could be expensive !") but will try to keep him on gluten until the blood tests at least
  6. Ive heard that Sainsburys are pretty good for gluten free altho I wasnt overly impressed with Asda or Tesco.. I think cooking from scratch is the way to go ..might make a good cook of me yet lol. CMW, well my son has got more nervous as hes got older but I know getting him blood tested at some stage is a necessity. Do kids have to go through a biopsy...
  7. Well my son is too scared to even have the blood test so I was thinking of trying him gluten free for a while with me and see if he gains energy etc. Yeah thanks the genius website looks good, I'll give it a try. I did send for a free hamper from Glutafin and was dead impressed with their products..think there was a naan in there too! Although...

  9. Oh thanks for your replies, its really helpful to have as much info as poss. Yes Gemini I don't want to get paranoid but do want to be careful. Luckily Its just me and my 11 yr old son so will get him to eat similar things to me to make it easier. With regards to GI problems, i think ive just got used to the pains over time..i remember many a time...
  10. Hi all, I'm soon to be going gluten free and was just wondering how important itis to check for cross contamination? Is it because of it still being a possible danger for our intestines? Or/and is it because it can really make us feel sick? And how far do we go? Have separate toasters etc? Sorry if this is a daft question, but wonder how careful...

  14. So Xfactor has finished and so has, I'm a Celeb....what am I going to do with all this extra time on my hands especially once I start getting my energy levels back??? Well done James but my faves were still Jahmane and Ella So any ideas for a new hobby? Suppose learning to cook gluten-free will be one I need instead of just being miss microwave...
  15. Well il keep you updated on biopsy..I think youre right CMW, the biopsy may tell me other things and consultant did say theyd check for lactose issues. I totally agree with you Megsybeth..best to check everything and know what youre dealing with. Although i wish my graves thyroid doctor had checked me for celiac years ago and it was routine over here...
  16. Do you think Its worth me asking for a scalp biopsy or shall I just be brave and get the normal biopsy over and done with being as itl be quicker ?
  17. Hi Gemini, yes its frustrating Ive still got to go through the motions of a biopsy especially with me being scared of further damage to vocal chord (he tried to assure me that the tube is a good 2" away from chords). I forgot to ask him if they could do a skin biopsy on my scalp instead..oh well I just want it over before christmas now. Gemini/Gottaski...
  18. Well I saw the consulant today and i asked if I really need the biopsy? He said unfortunately yes because we have to go through proper protocols. I asked if it is possible to not find anything on the biopsy even if i am celiac? He laughed and said yes there is a good chance the biopsy could not find anything depending on how long ive had celiac/if ive been...

  22. Hi Gemini, thank you..Im definitely going gluten-free whether I do biopsy or not because in the weeks I tried it, I really felt the difference and would rather not take the health risk. I'm actually looking forward to it ..I know it'll be a challenge being a veggie as well, but Im sure the support on this site will help me through it
  23. Hi toworryornot, no ive only had those two blood tests. . So does that mean theres another blood test more specific to coeliac (deamidated?) i shouldve had done? Im seeing consultant on Saturday to discuss me having biopsy so il ask about the deamidated version. Thank you
  24. Hi, I'm back with results altho they mean nothing to me! Hope someone can interpret? (Im copying word for word..looks greek to me!!) "Ser tiss transglutaminase lev (RPK3015) 15.3 u/ml (Info. with a tTG result of greater than 0.2 u/ml IgA deficiency is unlikely)...at the side of this statement it said norm levels between 0.00-10.00u/ml.
