  1. I think I was more scared of getting a negative/borderline diagnosis because theres nothing worse than not knowing for sure, especially with all these false negatives people get which I keep reading about. At least with a dx of celiac or if you've worked out you're a NCGI then you've got something you can deal with. I'm still new to all this but hope...

  6. Feeling very disappointed at myself today. This morning I was due for my endoscopy biopsy. I explained that they'd tried to do this in 2010 but they got the scope half way down and I choked and stopped the procedure. I explained that this time I'd be worse as I was extra nervous after having a total thyroidectomy in March last year which ended up with a...
  7. Cheers Mushroom...thats really helpful info. Ive had a look at Scd and it really does look like the best approach ..I may add in the odd juice if it allows it but must admit I was abit sceptical just living on juices for a week (youre right it is radical) but needed a starting point. I might even try my son on it as hes got dyspraxia (the scd is apparentely...
  8. Oh thats great. Thanks for clarifying Karen
  9. I've noticed a post on here asking us not to post any websites/links to our blogs if its advertising our own business. I am guilty of adding a link to a forum post..but its never advertising my own website (i don 't have one)...so is this ok or shall I remove? Thanks Helen
  10. So after having positive blood tests in October, I went gluten-free for approx 4 weeks and lived on rice cakes, hummus, carrots, salad, beans, homemade soup and jacket potatoes..but I actually felt better in that time than I had in ages in regards to acheyness, exhaustion and brainfog. I was then told by a dietician I needed to go back on gluten for preparation...

  12. Hi Adalaide, its good to read your experiences and Happy Anniversary! I'm new to all this (positive bloodwork and awaiting biopsy..so Im grumpy on gluten at the mo!) I so related to your comment..... "
  13. Oooh I'll be needing some digestive enzymes too. Do we need them and probiotics? If so, could you recommend a good probiotics? Thanks, Helen
  14. If youve had it checked by the doctor then have you started adding herbs etc to your food and making more things from scratch? Could the white bits be garlic youve added to food as it happens to me when I crush my own garlic in soups etc. Drink lots of water and juice to try and cleanse your system to see if it clears. Keep a food diary like myfitnesspal...
  15. Hi USF1970, sorry only just seen your reply. Yes I'm from the uk, oh I didnt realise .. we learn something everyday as they say . Thanks for replying .. and hope you've had a Happy Christmas day
  16. Don't think we really get the chance in the UK to shop around but I may be wrong. I never really had any major stomach problems until I went off gluten for 4 weeks then when I went back onto eating it... booom did I notice it!! (reason I had endoscopy 2 yrs ago was due to acid reflux/bloating which at the time I thought was caused by fatty foods ie...
  17. Thanks CMW....hope I'm very spacey!! I'll give em a call...be better than me worrying all Christmas. Happy hols
  18. Ahh thats brilliant news . What brought you here then if you have no symptoms?...well fingers crossed for a good result. I had an endoscopy about 2 yrs ago but I was never given an option of sedation..I just had this banana tasting throat numbing spray..they then got this pipe about half way down and I started gagging so they stopped the procedure...
  19. Hi toworryornottoworry, really glad your experience wasnt unpleasant and thats brill theres no obvious signs of any damage :-) . I must say I'm dreading mine on the 3rd January. Take it you had sedation? When will you get results? At least you can now chill and enjoy the holidays
  20. Don't know if these are any good for you but they look yummy and easy to make Open Original Shared Link and Open Original Shared Link abit more difficult Open Original Shared Link
  21. I totally understand where youre coming from, my boss recently told me I was 'forgetting things and to use a notebook' which is not good when my job is safeguarding!!. A few months ago I went gluten free for 4 weeks and on the last 2 weeks my mind/memory was amazing like never before ...unfortunately I now have to eat gluten until biopsy is done so Im very...
  22. The problem is, you can't always get someone on the phone straight away. I kept getting passed from pillar to post and given insuffient information. Maybe i was lucky after i sent an email because the relevant person phoned me almost straight away and confirmed it all in writing afterwards so I could show my GP. I was very impressed with them (Mercury Pharma...
  23. I'm A rh + and tested positive for anti-bodies
  24. You could try emailing the company and explaining the situation and that you received two different answers from them. That way you may get something back in writing. It maybe that it doesnt contain gluten but its made in a company that has gluten in other meds and therefore a chance of cross contamination and therefore they are legally bound not to specify...
