  4. I asked about going to gp surgery as i thought it would be quieter/calmer but was told they dont do children and the hospital is more equiped for them... but they didnt try any distracting techniques or anything..infact they showed him the needle to show how small it was at the side of the one for the adults and the child who went in before Luke screamed...
  5. Have you had your tsh levels checked for your thyroid? ...exhausted, cold, constipated are all symptoms of under-active thyroid (hypothyroidism). Could you keep a food diary and go and see a dietician? Im only a month into the gfd and not feeling so on top form myself yet but guess it takes time and we all heal differently. Good luck

  12. Well I'm pretty new to this myself as Ive only recently been dx but Im sure you'll find lots of info on here and get some response. But as far as I'm aware, if you do have celiac then you probably have a weak immune system /vitamin deficiency etc so theres many many symptoms of celiac. May be worth asking them to test for celiac (full panel) when...
  13. Hi Jonoh, can't really help you there as I believe my chills are brought on by an underactive thyroid....(mind me living in the UK and it being -5 today doesnt help ! ) Have you been tested for celiac? Have you any other symptoms?
  14. You say you are going to be tested for celiac etc, also make sure they test your thyroid levels. I had graves disease and lost 3 stones and was like a skeleton for awhile, was very gaunt in the face, my eyes buldged and was extremely anxious. Hope you find out whats causing your health issues.
  15. My luck!...was hoping there'd be at least some quorn products still suitable. Ah well, thanks for that nvsmom.
  16. Hi all, well I'm a week into being gluten free and must admit I'm finding it tough and feeling rough. But I think its my own fault in not organising myself properly with alternatives. Anyways, as a veggie, one if my staples as always been Quorn ready meals and now I appreciate that they are a no no as the ingredients specifically say "contains wheat...

  19. As someone speaking whos been a veggie since the age of 11 (I'm now 43) ...my reasons are because my dad made my eat a steak and blood gushed out) so after that experience, I found it difficult to physically and mentally chew flesh. HOWEVER, I totally agree with the above comment about soy and think ideally we should eat meat! I really believe that the...
  20. GFinDC, interesting..its the first time ive heard of gluten ataxia so I googled it Open Original Shared Link and it describes me to a t! and my 11 yr old son for that matter (hes been dx with dyspraxia but looking at gluten ataxia, im thinking it maybe that). 21. I really don't know much about it but slightest bit of mould or damp and I react. I also seem to have a radar for gas leaks too where I sense them and others dont lol. I'm just a sensitive and strange person!! I've been for two biopsys (the last on 3rd Jan) unfortunately I grabbed the tube on both occassions so the procedure was stopped. They had supposed...
  22. Never really thought about it but I'm pretty sure they did just start out of the blue in my early 20s . Never really considered them as migraines because when I get migraines which is usually caused by a reaction to red cheese and I get zig zag flashes or vision blackouts followed by an headache but could be.
  23. cmw, an alternative which I think is much better and I add to stir frys and bolognese sauce is called Hendersons relish. The company is uk based tho but it is soy and gluten free and tastes delicious! It actually makes me look like I can cook when I use it Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link It looks like soy sauce and...
  24. Hi Ryan, I too am sensitive to cigarette smoke and especially certain scented and cleaning / bug spray type products. ..I get sharp temple pains, can't breathe and go into a sort of panic attack mode. Not sure its anything to do with celiac for me as I didn't seem to get it when I digested gluten.
  25. Hi ButterflyChaser, I had Graves disease in 2002 and at first I lost about 3 stone with no effort. My levels then became normal after a couple of yrs so I came off meds and went to a normal weight again of about 10 stone. In 2010 the Graves came back but this time I put on about 3 stones! The gp said this was unusual but since then I've met many people who...
