ARCHIVED Read This If You Could Use A Chuckle :)
VeggieGal replied to NotMollyRingwald's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Lol nvsmom...ohh youre totally describing me! and one of my worst faults is getting lost, specifically in my own village I should easily know. And on one occassion about 10 yrs ago, I was driving from Sheffield to Filey and ended up near London...for those not from the Uk, the travel time should've took an hour and a half but instead it took closer to 7... -

VeggieGal replied to NotMollyRingwald's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Do you know its actually refreshing to know I'm not the only one and now we've a club ...I've always been known as miss clumsy, tripping over fresh air, spilling things like once when i was a waitress at a wedding, I spilt 20 glasses of Champagne over the bridgegrooms mum (luckily she'd been rude to the staff before then so I didnt get into trouble) ...I... -
ARCHIVED Hashimoto's Syndrome
VeggieGal replied to kcorcoran2013's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Its definately worth seeing an endo and maybe see if theres alternative meds if you still need them. I'm also vit d deficient which is needed to absorb calcium. On the plus, at least you've identified being gluten-free to be helping some of your other health issues...may you continue in your healing- 31 replies

ARCHIVED Hashimoto's Syndrome
VeggieGal replied to kcorcoran2013's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Are you dx as celiac? 2 months gluten free is still early days, it can take along time for your intestines to heal before you start absorbing nutrients. Have you had your iron and B12 levels checked? I had my thyroid removed due to graves and now I'm on the right dosage of levothyroxine apparentely...but l agree with nvsmom. I suffer with severe fatigue...- 31 replies

ARCHIVED Does Anyone Else Have A Lump Behind Their Jaw?
VeggieGal replied to taynichaf's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Thats scary, I have a pea sized lump that doesnt wiggle or hurt (feels like bone) behind my ear which I've had for about a week but I'm sure I've had one before awhile back and it just went on its own (assumed it was just abit of gristle). I've got to the point where I'm fed up of going to the doctors and feel like I live there ! so I was hoping it... -

Today I was out with my son doing a 10k walk raising funds for Cavendish Cancer Care at Chatsworth House, Bakewell in the Uk. Well after the event we went for food and I ended up with a jacket potato as per usual and then my son pointed out that there was gluten free cake I was naturally overjoyed; one that it made me feel special that we were catered...

ARCHIVED Thoughts For Boston 4-15-2013
VeggieGal replied to Lisa's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected. What a very sad and frightening world we live in and explaining to a child the kind of world he's growing up in is so difficult when hes still so innocent and believes the good in people. There's so much I want to say but feel too saddened, angry and yet speechless. God bless -

VeggieGal replied to jhol's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
