  2. Thanks all glad thats made clearer. Yes defeatwheat, I struggle with corn on the cob more than say other forms of corn and I'm sure you're right about the fibre. I also struggle with kale so i guess it is a gut-healing, time will tell sort of thing. Thanks again.
  3. Yes I'm sure you are right (I was hesitant on putting the video on here). I just wondered what the views of others were on this and their experiences. This video seems to make out that all grains carry gluten....but is this the same gluten which causes us damage? I'd like to think that by now our healthcare would've informed us and new guidelines would...
  4. Sorry to hear you are having problems..its very scary I know when your breathing is affected. I was diagnosed with asthma about 15 years ago but only recently realised that my symptoms of struggling breathing/tightening of throat are triggered from eggs, cheese and milk. I'm currently awaiting allergy testing but there's no doubt that when I lay off these...
  5. I'm sure some of you have probably already seen this video or looked into this. But do any of you agree or have glutened symptoms after having other grains besides wheat, rye and barley? I've always struggled with corn and am now finding gluten-free oats an issue too.
  6. I've been feeling really good alately then boom! I tried rice dream milk last night and all day today ive been sluggish, headache, tired, achy arms, foggy brain and bloated...grrr I didnt see that one coming either!

  9. Smoothies take a few mins if you've a bullet type blender... a banana, handful of frozen berries plus any other fruit/veg you fancy mixed with either flavoured water, almond milk etc and I sometimes add protein powder. Or, Nairns gluten free biscuit breaks oats & fruit or any other gluten-free bars or you can make your own granola bars.

  11. Thanks Gemini, I think we need to have to cope with some of our issues Yes that makes alot of sense about healing. Well I've had no further issues but even so, the fact I had some last night no doubt means its doing some damage I don't know its confusing as they are presumed safe!?! Oooh I will have a look for Greens and thanks for the link.......
  12. Thanks for that link. I'm in the UK but will have a look for Woodchuck. Would be nice to have something different for the summer months. I've just remembered, I had a couple of Pimms at the weekend and it never ever crossed my mind to check if gluten-free!....well I didnt have any reactions luckily
  13. Glad you enjoyed the cider Glutenstinks, it looks like I may have to try some. I do like my red wine but must admit, I really miss Desperados beer . I'm really not an alcho honest haha !
  14. Oh yes..I can see barley malt hidden in the ingredients grrrrrrrr although it is sold gluten free. I've had two bottles and must admit my tummy is gurgling and I'm abit windy.... you're lucky you arent here lol. Strange thing is I never had many gut problems pre-dx but when I get glutened now, I know about it....maybe thats a good thing to serve as...
  15. After 7 months without a beer, I thought it was time to try a gluten-free one being as they were on offer Estrella Damm Daura..... mmm not bad at all I must say. But I'm pretty sure, I used to be able to have more than one bottle before feeling tipsy ...hic Its a shame though, that its the only brand gluten-free available, so suppose I will have...
  16. I can't speak much about slippery elm for gut problems as I've never suffered that bad although when I used it, it did give my stomach a definite calming feeling but I didnt know I was celiac then. Also it helped with gerd. I used it about a year ago for my paralysed vocal cord and for respiritory issues and thought it was amazing. I'm also pretty sure...
  17. Oh do I remember !! Shopping in the supermarkets reading labels and saying pffft pffft pffft as I moodily felt like slamming the items back on the shelf I like lots of others had no energy at first to cook or think clearly, I went through mild depression (which was probably the gluten and withdrawal). It felt like Id never feel right...but finally...

  19. I've never tried Epsom salts but think I may now as it looks like from this info, that even bathing in it can have an effect on kidneys and liver etc....unless I've read it wrong? (I am tired and its gone past my bedtime!). Also, I may try my son who has dyspraxia/autism. Open Original Shared Link
  20. Yes Im sure my experience was probably not the norm, but even still its worth getting checked if possible. Plus you do need magnesium to help absorb calcium. All the best.
  21. Where Is The Love - Black Eyed Peas
  22. Is malt vinegar definitely a no no? I have some confusion (doesnt take much haha). Ive been avoiding malt vinegar and codex wheat but then I came across this link which I'm assuming means they are ok?? Why can't there be better clarity on labelling grrrr. Open Original Shared Link
  23. If you think you have magnesium deficiency, like nvsmom says, you really need to get it checked as low levels can lead to strokes etc. It works with calcium and is essential for your heart. Last April when I had a total thyroidectomy, my magnesium level was so low the doctors had a panic on and they could not get a magnesium drip onto me quick enough...

    ARCHIVED Alopecia

Just a thought, but if you haven't already, it may be worth you getting your thyroid checked as it can cause hair thinning.
