    ARCHIVED Jury Duty...

Perhaps you can include in your questionnaire that you suspect Celiac (describe) and currently in the process of pursuing medical treatment/testing.
  2. Sounds like your mother is in denial herself. None of this is something she has caused. Many of us a genetically susseptible to many things and in my case itis Celiac. I don't blame my parents and if my children someday are diagnosed with Celiac, I would do my best to help them adjust to whatever their needs may be. Kindly remind you mother, that there...
  3. It does sound like an allergy of some sort. Are there any culprits this season in your neck of the woods?
  4. Think how the aftermath will taste in your mouth....eww. But, yes, I talk big now. Hang in there babe. I need you to be strong so you can tell me how to do it.
  5. Sandy, I too hope you find some answers soon. You both have been through so much. I'll keep you in my thoughts and sending well wishes.
  6. Dingo's went camping. Hope to hear some good campfire stories.
  7. Hey Bravie: Always remember, you are not alone. We number 15,000 people here on this site and we have all been where you are. This is the best place you can come for information and support. I know how hard it can be for family not to be supportive and especially your mother. That must be hard to deal with. Celiac CAN be very overwhelming in the...

  9. Today in North Carolina the thermometer indicates 100 degrees (in the shade) and the relative heat is 112 degrees. Last night we had our first thunderstorm (or rain of any kind) in a months time. It's awful! How about you?
  10. Yes, I had heard may people speak of the dark circles diminishing after some time on the diet, myself included. Since two years on the diet, I have had many people come up to me and tell me how much better I look. Guess they didn't have the nerve to tell me how BAD is really looked, back then .

  12. Hello, It sounds like your doctor is on top of things. You are one of the lucky ones. I have had both proceedures and there is nothing to it. But, just a word of advise....do NOT start the diet until all your tests are over. Continue to eat gluten foods and dairy. You want the optimum opportunity to detect any damage due to potential Celiac.
  13. I called Pfizer and talked to a Lame Advertisement Representative. She assured me that Lame Advertisement had NO gluten ingrediences. I started today. Day one! Quiting day is next Monday. Wish me strength, determination, and a continued hopefull attitude.

  16. Julie, I think that Angie makes fried onion rings with pancake batter. Her picture looked wonderful. It's on my to do list.
  17. Actually Tom, if the truth were known, I should call him Dad - right Nik? Do you like that senario better? We don't refer to each other as Mom and Dad, other than references in talking to our children. There IS something very odd about that.
  18. I was thinking along the line of distilled whites. Balsamic gets better with the price tag.
  19. I had two until my husband retired and two became three. In a "manly" voice "Mom, where is this, where is that". Oh the joys of retirement.
  20. Sheesh Carla, no wonder you have five kids.
  21. Distilled vinegar should be no problem. The distillation process is said to remove any gluten elements. When in doubt, Kraft will always list if a product contains wheat, barley and malt.
  22. Yes, it's normal to have some ups and downs while the healing continues. Have you considered that you may have a problem with dairy. For many people newly diagnosed with Celiac, it is often recommended that they go dairy light or eliminate it altogether until the healing is well on it's way and then gradually reintroduce it down the road. A dairy reaction...
