    Today it is to reach 100 degrees and with the high humidity it will feel like 115 degrees. And I can't get the old, old cats in the house. This is very dangerous weather. Three more days of this then we get a break to the high 80's.

    Modified Food Starch in the US is generally corn derived. If it is wheat derived it would say" Modified Food Starch (wheat)." Rarely, would MFS be made from rye, barley or malt. Maltodextrin is also general derived from corn in the US. Likewise, if it were wheat it is required by law to list.

    A word of caution...if the restaurant mixes up the dry HVR dressing, please make sure that they use a fresh jar of mayo or anything else that is added to the dry dressing. Clean utensile would be good as well. That would prevent possible cross contamination in the kitchen. Have a wonderful baptism and celebration.

    Hidden Valley is gluten free (as we recently found out) and McCormicks vanilla is also gluten free. Gluten free vanilla would be the extract, otherwise it would be a vanilla bean which would be naturally gluten free. Stick with McCormicks.

    Somewhere, someone here has a list of information for school providers for children with Celiac. I don't recall who, though. Try doing a search for school supplies. Perhaps that may work.

    dancer, The only restaurants that I have listed is Carrabba's Italian Grille and Outback in Charleston. I have found that restaurants in cities are more familiar with gluten free than ever before. Perhaps you can choose one and contract the manager. Maybe some locals can help.

    I use Jif all the time, but when finished with that, I want to switch to Smart Balance for for the reduced fat.

    Many people respond differently to anesthesia and invasive proceedures. I slept into the night when I returned home. In addition, it could be the results of your gluten challenge.     The most frustrating times for me is when I am eating at other peoples homes. It is very hard for most people to understand all the layers of Celiac.     Welcome! Wow, you are truly a testament to diligence and perseverance. Your results for yourself as well as for your boys is so overwhelming to the dangers that gluten can rage. I am so glad that all of you are well on the road to recovery.

    I am in full agreement, Mango. Your point has a great deal of merit and was well said. This forum is full of valuable information and personal testimonies, but it is not doctrine. It's important to weight your options and make your own informed choices.
