  1. If I might suggest...that you forget about Campbell's Pace and buy the numerous products that Newman's Own makes that are gluten free. Plus the proceeds go to the many philanthropic endeavors sponsored by the Newman Family: http://www.newmansown.com/faqs.aspx#q6
  2. After going gluten free, I found myself FAR more sensitive to the effects of alcohol. It hit me harder and faster.
  3. This might help: https://www.celiac.com/articles/182/1/Unsaf...ents/Page1.html
  4. Sorry that you are feeling badly. Have you tried the honey alone, without the bread or hot chocolate?
  5. I can understand your frustration. In the Unites States, as of yet, there is no standard for labeling a product "gluten free". A company can label a product "gluten free" if there are no gluten ingredients. More and more, I see companies labeling their products "no gluten ingredients". Rarely a manufactured product can claim to be 100% gluten...
  6. Welcome, Many people here have been diagnosed with Celiac Disease secondary to other diseases such as Fibromyalgia, Osteoporosis, Diabetes, Lupus and others. This is the test to requisition from your PCP: Antigliadin antibodies (AGA) both IrA and IgG Antiendomysial antibodies (EMA) - IgA Anti-tissue transglutaminase antibodies (tTG) - IgA ...
  7. I think most drug stores have lice/nit(eggs) shampoos. Several repeat shampoos should work. Wash your hair brushes, combs, etc..
  8. It took me about six months before I could tell a glutening from time needed to heal. Everyone is different. Sometime you can react, other times you don't. Sometimes your reaction time is within hours, other times days. I've been doing it for several years and I haven't figured it out yet. I just know to be as careful as I can and go about...
  9. ileum is the lower part of the small intestines opening up into the large intestine. I would see a professional for an interpretation.
  10. Did you have a endoscopy or a colonoscopy? Flattened mucosa can be found in the small intestines and it can indicate ulcerated colitis, as well as other things of concern in the large intestines. It would be wise to pursue additional medical advise.
  11. MSG is not so good for you, BUT it is NOT Gluten related.
  12. http://www.celiaccentral.org/What_is_Celia...By/67/vobId__21 - sorry this link did not work, but I copied and pasted. Modified Food Starch: Modified food starch can be derived from many sources: corn, tapioca, potato, wheat, or other starches. Most modified food starch in North America is derived from non-gluten-containing sources. It is still prudent...
  13. Friending you! Thank you so much for the warm welcome!!

  14. Hillshire Farms Polish Keilbasa is a staple in our family. To my current knowledge, it is gluten free. But, always read lables as ingredients can change frequently.
  15. If you are new to the diet, it is pretty hard to pin point a glutening. It took me about six months to heal enough that I felt a direct glutening. (make sense?). I would not draw any other food intolerances until you have completely eliminated gluten from you diet. As I have said before, a gluten reaction has a loud voice. Once you quite that down,...
  16. Yup, all Yoplait Yogurts are gluten free with the exception of the cookies and granola ones (the obvious).
  17. Joni, I think that some people are just super sensitive. I don't react any more and I never had the stomach pain when glutened, so I am a poor example to comment. But, my experience here does indicate that there are some people who will react to grain based vinegar and alcohol. Damage would be determined by having Celiac or an allergy/intolerance...
  18. Manwich is a ConAgra Product and their policy is to always list ALL forms of gluten (ie. wheat, barley, malt or rye) Here is some contact #'s. If gluten is not listed, it will not be in the hidden form. In addition, if wheat is used as a source in an ingredient, it by US FDA Labeling Laws, is required to be listed on the ingredients listing. The distilling...
  19. There is nothing that yells "gluten" and it is well used among members here. There are some corn derived ingredients though.
  20. I can't confirm anything for you but, seriously, the risk of cross contamination is GREAT.

  22. Some of the mini's are thought NOT to be gluten free, but the larger versions ARE considered gluten free. I have no factual basis for this, but it comes up every year about this time.
  23. I have never reacted to cellulose and it's my understanding that it is not gluten related. It is derived from beta-glucose.
  24. I can't guarantee, but I would think that cotton candy would be the ONLY safe thing at a fair. Cotton candy is just spun sugar.
  25. Some do have a problem with Canola, but did you use a cast-iron pan to cook the fish in. Many can be porus and a absorb pre-gluten oils.
