  1. The lady seemed to be very informed. Here is the phone number. 1-800-847-1997 She said IF the ingredients show 'Color' or 'flavor' or 'Spice it' could contain trace amounts of gluten because they get those ingredients from another source.
  2. We called la Choy, they wanted the UPC code and said it is NOT gluten free. My husband found 'Kikkoman Gluten Free' at Albertson's.
  3. We just called Kraft because I've been sick for the past 3 days after eating Kraft cheese. My husband spoke to them and they told him it is NOT gluten free. They said IF the ingredients show 'Color' or 'flavor' or 'Spice it' could contain trace amounts of gluten because they get those ingredients from another source.
  4. It's been a LONG time since we've had country fried steak. We dipped it in buttermilk then used Better batter to flour it and fried in coconut oil. We used to milk and corn starch and a little of the oil we fried the meat in to make gravy. It was SO GOOD! We also had green beans and mashed potatoes.
  5. My recipe is the same for tuna and chicken salad. I add chopped onion, Duke's mayo and chopped dill pickle, that's it.
  6. I was told by the company that ONLY the 'Brown Rice' Rice Krispies are truly Gluten free.
  7. I didn't have a lot of hope that I'd like this recipe for pizza crust but I was wrong, I loved it and so did my super picky husband that is NOT Gluten Free. I just had to share this with you. I promise you, it is amazing and you can read the comments of others on this link too. Open Original Shared Link
  8. Open Original Shared Link These are the Kindle version, but you do NOT need to have a Kindle to read them. You can download Open Original Shared Link to store and read all your free Kindle books from your PC, or you can read them from a Open Original Shared Link. Please note, I have not read all of these books, so I am not personally recommending them...
  9. I have discovered it can make others feel uncomfortable when they order and you can't and many restaurants won't allow you to bring in your own food. In my opinion it's best to be honest and tell people you can't eat at certain places and generally they are very understanding and you can offer suggestions to restaurants that have foods you can eat.
  10. You can do a search here to see what stores near you carry it. Open Original Shared Link
  11. My husband smoked a brisket and we cooked some green beans and potatoes in the pressure cooker to go with it.
  12. It's Friday (Lent) so seafood is on our menu. Today we are having shrimp, rice pilaf and salad.

  14. I have not had an egg roll in a LONG time! I hope I can find those at a store near me! We went to the city today, over 2 hours round trip and found the frozen Bistro meals! We do buy some processed foods because my poor husband does most of the cooking (I am not able to do it any longer) plus he works 11 hours a day, 6 days per week at 62 years old so he...
  15. I just don't trust Fast food at all. I think there is more of a chance of cross contamination.
  16. Have you tried Whole Foods brand of frozen gluten-free pie crust? They are wonderful.
  17. Thanks, I checked with both grocery stores we have here, one being Walmart and neither carries it. The next time we go to the big city for all my supplies I'll check with a super target.
  18. At the grocery store in town they seem to only carry ice cream that list wheat as an ingredient. I feel certain it's the ones they choose to carry that is the problem. They have 2 I can eat (honest) one is chocolate and the other vanilla, no variety.
  19. Thank you, I have gotten sick eating out so I appreciate knowing. Some of the employees just have no idea how sick this type of thing can make us. It may or may not be true but I would not risk it.
  20. I haven't seen that fish at our stores but I'll sure keep my eyes open. I have a HECK of a time finding ice cream without gluten!
  21. I noticed our Knorr has Barley listed. Does anyone know of any that is gluten free? Thank you.
