  1. Thanks. The puppy is on a Gluten Free diet as well. I buy him the good expensive food and treats. I was worried he would have problems with it but so far so good. He actually is excited to eat most days now.
  2. Thanks for making me smile! I'll be adding Chicago to the vacation list. I'm still working on eating at home... but hopefully someday restaurants will be back in the itinerary "other than water"
  3. Lisa, Thanks for your respone. I have been browsing around for a while but really to new to add anything of substance. I've asked my doctor about your suggestion. I would prefer it over the PPIs. I didn't have "these" side effects before the meds. It doesn't seem right to exchange one chest pain for another. I'll keep learning and trying to chug along...
  4. Hard to say. My doctor says it isn't a side effect. But Internet articles seem to disagree. He asked me to go buy a lower does over the counter version and try that out for a while to see how I feel. I'm currently working on that.
  5. I've been gluten free now for 2 months a couple weeks in change. I've gone through various symptoms and withdrawal. My doctors, while trying to be helpful, really do not do much to help. I was introduced to a nutritionist who basically told me "not to eat gluten". Yet laughed off when I told her I was also sensitive to corn. It seems like there is so much...
  6. Might I ask what kind of reactions you were seeing? I'm in a difficult place when trying to consider what is expected with my healing process and what is a negative reaction. I don't quite know my body well enough yet and was not diagnosed for years... so I just kind of grew accustom to feeling lousy since the doctor's were not sure of my problem.
  7. Thanks. Everyone I will check these out and report back.
  8. So, I have been browsing around elimination diets and I really think I need structure. Such as: add ingredient 1 after so many days and document how you feel. But I have been browsing all these different elimination diets and they are vary. Does anyone have a good resource for celiac elimination diets? Thanks, as always, for your help. Jesse
  9. Thanks everyone. I called and scheduled with a new doctor. Hopefully he will have some insight on Monday. Now I just have to wait out the weekend! My heart seems to be okay, it's more just "strange" symptoms that I can't really explain. I have been reading the forum like crazy and I think it might have had something to do with cauliflower. I ate a lot of...
  10. Thanks. I'm definitely going both routes. The getting checked out part is just costing me an arm and a leg even with insurance. I think I am more worried about the uncertainty. If I am just healing... then I'll plow through the suffering but events like last night's ER trip really rattle me. I don't like not knowing what is going on with my body. I actually...
  11. Thanks for the response. I wish you well, as well. Cross contamination is always possible, it seems but I have been doing my best. I've cut out lactose (on my own) and don't use red wine vinegars. Although I got a little frisky and did cook a lot of veggies with a "gluten free" Indian sauce. I'm with you on the finding a different provider. I tried...
  12. Hey Celiac team, I have mostly been a lurker, as of late, as I begin to deal with this illness but I've run into a few hiccups and I can't seem to find any answers. I have been (what I think to be) gluten free for the past 2 months now. At first there was a lot of improvement. Then I started to see other side effects (which my doctors thinks are unrelated...
  13. Thanks! I appreciate it. I'm looking into the rotational diet now. So you would suggest that I only give up gluten during these three months and stay the course with other items?
  14. So I'm a bit confused. I feel a bit put off by my doctor when I take his advice and contrast it with reading of a lot of the testimonies on this forum. He tells me to go strictly non-gluten for 6 months. I am fine with that. I'm well into my 4th week. I still have symptoms here and there so it's frustrating, but I am working on it and wiping out potential...
  15. I can't speak for going back to gluten. I have heard rumors of that but you may want to ask your doctor. However, don't rely solely on these blood test results. If you were gluten free for 3 months that is more than enough time to come back with a negative blood test result. But anyway, talk to your doc and follow his suggestions we are all so different...
  16. You say you're newly diagnosed... Do you have any problems drinking alcohol? I know it's subjective but I had a few ciders a while back (and an omission) and felt pretty crappy afterwards. I plan on holding off for a few months but was just wondering how we as a collective group monitor and know when to come back to a certain substance? Thanks!
  17. Thanks, I will check that out. I've been trying to be vigilant about sugar intake. Most of the gluten free products I have been finding have a lot of sugar. Maybe I'll go get a blood sugar tester this evening. I have been meaning to do that anyway. Thanks for taking the time out to respond to me. It's vastly appreciated.
  18. I see that you have a lot of intolerance's in your profile. What kind of meals do you eat?
  19. So, I have been diagnosed but have been experiencing some strange side effects. And I wanted to see if anyone could relate and maybe offer suggestions on how to alleviate such symptoms. I have been gluten free for 3 weeks now. (At least trying to be. I'm a little more keen on CC now.) I had a pretty bad reaction to what I think was corn pasta the other...
  20. Thanks, everyone. It's greatly appreciated it. This has been rough. I think the worst part is the uncertainty. It's a new feeling which I have never experienced. The internet definitely helps and hurts. I've been reading the good stories and the bad and not sure where I will land. I'm going to take the advice about the pots and pans and utensils and will...
  21. Sorry in advance if I am not posting properly. My thinking is a bit foggy and I was a bit too anxious to properly read the directions for the forum. Anyway, here goes. I have been having stomach issues, fatigue and bloating for a while. So a few weeks ago I had an endo and my doctor discovered celiac antibodies. I kind of figured this was going to...
