  1. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  2. I did try one of Giant's frozen meals, and was surprised to find that it tasted pretty good. I also have tried something else that I had found there. It is manufactured by "Allergy Free Foods Company" and is called Boneless Country Fried Chicken Breast. The batter is made with white rice, brown rice and modified tapioca starch.
  3. I take a Glutino bagel and put it in a plastic sandwich bag. Nuke it for about 30 seconds and you get a nice hot, tasty bagel. It tastes great with cream cheese and salmon, or butter.
  4. I will be going to Tampa, FL for the first time in a few weeks. I'm staying at a hotel near the airport. Does anyone have any suggestions on Celiac safe restaurants nearby? Thanks for any help you can give me. Cindy
  5. When I make pancakes, I mix up a whole bag of gluten-free pancake batter and make all of them at one time. I freeze them, a couple at a time, in a zip lock bag. You could make mock poptarts by popping a baggie in the microwave to heat and then adding some jam or applesauce and cinnamon in between the pancakes. Cindy
  6. dLife recently had an article regarding Diabetes and Celiac. In the article it talked about the Gluten Free Restaurant Awareness Program. You can check out the what places offer gluten free dining in your area by typing in your zip code. There is also a brochure for restaurant owners, to make them more aware of the needs of gluten free choices. This...
  7. I was checking to see if Smithfield Ham was gluten free, and came across this website. Open Original Shared Link I typed Smithfield Allergens Gluten Free in the search box and came up with a whole bunch of mainstream products (Not just Smithfield). It has some pretty interesting info.
  8. Carolyn, Welcome - I'm glad you found us! Cindy (From Westminster - North of Baltimore)
  9. Hi - How ya doin? Nothing new on this end, but I thought you might appreciate this info. I had a dog named Thumper for 14 years. My brother has a dog named Bambi. My parents referred to them as the Disney granddogs .
  10. There are no silly questions - Ask away, someone is always here to help. You are not alone. Cindy
  11. I was diagnosed after having diarrhea for about a month, and bruising and bleeding problems. My brother also has Celiac. When I asked him what his symptoms were he said he "Had NASTY gas". I replied, "Don't all guys have nasty gas?"
  12. Don't forget to check your medications and beauty products for gluten. Also, watch out for cross contamination. I hope you are feeling better soon.

    ARCHIVED Hello

Welcome! This is a great source of information and support. Cindy
  14. I don't trust them. I buy the Hormel presliced deli that says right on the package "GLUTEN FREE" .
  15. I've made cheese steak subs with either Whole Foods or Glutino pizza crusts. I warm the pizza crust in the microwave and pan fry a thin sliced steak, add Provalone cheese, lettuce and tomatoes. It's a little bit messy - but worth it
  16. Ursa - I've been wondering how your trip was going. I'm glad you're home safe and sound. Cindy
  17. Yea - Cruelshoes clued us in on this website about Rice Chex! Open Original Shared Link His posting is a current thread...You may want to read it because the old boxes of Rice Chex are still around, and they are NOT gluten free. Thanks Cruelshoes!
  18. Welcome back! Cindy
  19. What a cutie! I'm glad to hear that he is home. Thanks for sharing. Cindy
  20. What a great way to bond with your granddaughter. I hope you have a great time. Oh, by the way, congrats on your newest addition. Cindy
  21. I like to make French Toast with the FFL Rice Almond bread.
  22. Congrats! Can't wait to hear the details.
  23. Don't forget a new colandar. You may be able to eat gluten free pasta made from rice or corn, (Tinkyada is great) but all of those tiny holes in your old colandar contain gluten that is going to stick no matter how many times you wash it.
  24. I'm Diabetic and never did like the taste of sugar-free syrups - even on "regular" pancakes. I top my gluten free pancakes with nutrasweet and cinnamon, fruit spread or applesauce and cinnamon. Yumm.
  25. Thanks for bringing this up. I was about to wish celiac3270 welcome back. We haven't heard from him in a while.
