  1. I'm glad you're feeling better. Oscar is so cute .
  2. Well...??? I hope everyone is fine! Cindy
  3. We always spend the holidays with good friends. What they do is make a stuffed turkey and a cook a gluten free turkey breast separately. They are cooked in the roasting bags so there is no chance of cross contamination. It is no more trouble to cook the extra breast. They carve the breast first, and then the turkey. The turkey breast always gets placed...
  4. I'm always late...Happy Belated Birthday, Lisa! Cindy
  5. Hi Sara! I guess I was lucky. My child was older when I was diagnosed. I didn't have to worry so much about his food. Now I just make him prepare his food in designated area of the kitchen, and wash off the microwave and fridge handles (That's a real trick with an 18 year old boy). A hint for you - wash your hands with soap (often) especially...
  6. I've had many MRI's and have never had a problem with the IV solution. When I Googled Multihance, I found out that it was made by Bracco Diagnostics. You can call their Customer Service Department at 800-257-5181. I hope everything came out o.k. with dd on the scan. Cindy
  7. I just had to read this thread...I thought you were talking about a bra with gluten . Cindy
  8. Welcome! I am glad to hear that Carter is doing so well. Cindy
  9. Welcome from me too! This site is always so helpful. The gluten free lifestyle can be tricky to figure out, so when you have questions, feel free to ask. Someone here is bound to know the answer. I'm glad you're feeling better! Cindy
  10. When I got in just now, my last vist was TODAY!!! And I only had 3 pages of new posts to look at. Thanks for getting that cleared up. I did notice when I clicked on view new posts that it only showed me the new posts for today. I did have the choice of viewing the past week (and farther back). If I do have the view last unread...I can't find it...
  11. I love my Forman grill, but I had to get my own and specify that it was gluten free. Before I did this, I used the old one that I had, and glutened myself . My son likes to make grilled cheese sandwiches on it (with regular bread) and apparently didn't get all of the gluten off.
  12. Ursa, Thanks for replying. I'm here just about every day. Most of the posts do not have any new replies. To everyone else who is having problems - Thanks for letting me know that I'm not the only one. I was beginning to wonder if I was going crazy. I appreciate the ones who will be filling Scott in. Cindy
  13. When I open the gluten free forum and click on view new posts, it tells me that my last visit was on 10/10 and that there are 19 new pages. In looking at the pages I know that I have seen most of them before, and some of the posts I have responded to. What's going on?
  14. Welcome to the board My top recommendations (in addition to what everyone else is saying) would be: 1. Read the label ingredients EVERY time you buy something. Companies frequently change the way that they make things. 2. Check the ingredients in your personal hygiene products (soaps, lotions, toothpaste, cream rinse, etc...
  15. Welcome to the board! I encourage you to keep reading and keep asking questions. Without this board, I would have been totally lost when I was first diagnosed. Even now, I still have questions, and someone is always willing to help. Another thing I want to bring up is that if you are going to eat gluten free pasta (Tinkyada is wonderful), you should...
  16. Sorry - I've never had the lemonade either.

When I was first diagnosed, I don't know what I would have done without this group. Everyone has been so helpful and caring. Now, 3 years later, I still rely heavily on the people here for support.
  18. How about Angel. She showed up knowing someone from the church would take care of her. In the Bible, when angels appear they always tell you to not be afraid. Even though her appearance was less than perfect, you chose to help her.
  19. Please check to see that they are the Gluten Free Waffles. Van's also makes waffles that are not gluten free. Cindy
  20. Don't forget to check medications and supplements - both prescription and nonprescription. I was what I thought gluten-free for a long time before I realized that my multi-vitamins had gluten in them. You can check your (prescription) medications by using www.glutenfreedrugs.com or by contacting the manufacturer directly. The manufactur would have...
  21. Yup. I go to Hunt Valley. I don't go too often because it's about an hour away. I didn't know Harrisburg got one. I might have to take a ride up. Cindy
  22. The bagels that I get are frozen Glutino bagels. I found mine in the frozen section of Nature's Marketplace in Wegman's. You could also order them directly from Glutino. Cindy
  23. Wegman's also has gluten-free bagels. I have them with Philly cream cheese and smoked salmon. I also put the cream cheese and salmon on rice cakes. I wrote to Acme Brand packaged smoked salmon - They are gluten free (my local food store carries this brand). Wegman's probably has some too.
  24. My doctor recommended that I take Zinc and Selenium (Make sure it's a gluten free brand, like Nature Made). He told me that if I went in to a vitamin store and asked for the hair and nail formula supplement - that is what it would contain. For me - I find that if I take 200 mcg of Selenium (286%) in addition to my multi-vitamin, my hair is much thicker...
  25. How about "NO-WHEAT TREATS"?
