  1. I use Nature Made. All of their vitamins and supplements say "Gluten Free" right on the bottle. You can buy them at almost any pharmacy. CVS and Rite-Aid sometimes have them on sale (buy one/get one free or buy one get one 1/2 off). You can even earn "Wellness Rewards" coupons by entering the code number on the bottle. I got a $5.00 off coupon with the...

  4. Several years ago, I was treated for a benign brain tumor. Afer undergoing two conventional surgeries, it was discovered that they could not remove all of it. I was offered the chance to be the first patient at a local hospital to have non-invasive Cyberknife surgery. They brought me into the room where the surgery was to be done, and I could still...
  5. As Amanda said, a Phase 2 or Phase 3, trial means that partical drug has been tested before and has done well so they are trying it for other things. The Phase 1 is when the drug is first being introduced. I have a feeling that in order to meet the criteria for doing this, there would be restrictions. Because of other medical problems that I have...
  6. My local Safeway store carries Lundburg Rice Cakes. Sometimes they even have them on sale.
  7. If you have a WalMart close by, you may want to check them out. A lot of Their Great Value Brand (Store label) stuff does not contain gluten and will say "Gluten Free" right on the label. If it's a Super WalMart, they carry a lot more items. You might be able to find things like Gluten Free Pantry and Pamela's products, at a lot lower price.
  8. I agree - Glutano stuff is usually pretty good. I like the MiDel Arrowroot cookies (the animal cookies). Watch out because they also make other cookies that are not gluten-free. Enjoy Life cookies are good too. When I make pancakes. I use up a whole thing of Pamela's mix, and freeze in portions for yummy breakfasts that I can just pop in the...
  9. Stef - I'm sorry you're having so much trouble. I missed you. I'm going to PM you something from the University Of MD Celiac Research Center that may be of help. I't long, or I'd just post it here. Cindy
  10. I use Nature Made products all of the time. If you log into their website, you can register to earn points towards future purchases. I just got a $5.00 coupon in the mail for the next time I buy vitamins.
  11. I've also made it this way: 1 box of De Boles Corn Elbow Style Pasta - cooked and drained 1/2 finely chopped Onion 1 chopped tomato 1 chopped cucumber (seeds removed) One diced ham steak (Smithfield) or Hormel Natural Choice Smoked Ham 1 Handful of Kraft Shredded Cheddar Cheese Kraft Ranch or Italian Dressing (Depending on my mood) Seasonings to...
  12. Welcome! Hopefully we can be of help and support to you . Don't forget to watch out for cross contamination. You may want to invest in some new things for your kitchen. Cutting boards, wooden utensils, colandars, scratched plastic containers, and scratched pans that you used in your pre-gluten days all tend to have gluten hiding in them. I...
  13. I went to Open Original Shared Link Clicked on Nutrition Clicked Allergens Clicked Printable Food Allergens Cindy
  14. Arby's website (www.arbys.com) shows that the roast beef minus the bun is gluten free. When I went into Arby's to get some roast beef, I noticed that the staff were wearing gloves, but they did not change them between orders. This told me that the same gloves that had just dipped the gloved hand into the pan of roast beef (No, they did not use tongs...

    ARCHIVED Corn Chips

There was a post about Tostitos a while back... At a recent Christmas party at work, I happened to see the can of nuts as they were being scooped into a bowl on the table. Sure enough, the nuts contained wheat. There is another girl I work with who has Celiac. I went to her office and she was on the phone. I slipped her a note saying "DON'T EAT...
  16. I have realized that I have a food addiction. I don't purposly eat anything with gluten, but I have trouble with portion control. I find something that I can eat, and I eat it until I can't possibly put another bite in my mounth. I feel so full and bloated afterwards, but I can't stop myself.
  17. Maybe it had something to do with the seasoning on the popcorn?
  18. Herb ox also makes granulated boullion that is gluten free. I like to sprinkle it on rice or veggies. Yum. I did notice that the boullon cubes contain hydrolyzed Corn Protein - the granulated boullion does not. In a health food store once, I also found Vogue Cuisine Instant Chicken Flavored Base. Their website is www.voguecuisine.com (Never mind...
  19. Actually, Suave is a pretty helpful company to deal with. I called them to find out what products they had that were gluten free. I spoke to a Customer Service Rep that was very helpful. He looked up several different items for me so I knew what to look for. Suave Volumizing Mousse used to be gluten free...but no more . The last time I went to...

  21. I know you posted this awhile ago, but the name of the brand found at Target, Rite Aid, Costco, and a couple other places is "Nature Made." The vitamins are in yellow bottles and on the back say free of gluten, soy, dairy, yeast, preservatives, additives........ Good luck! NatureMade has a promotion going on. if you log into their website at www.NatureMade...
  22. I agree - the liners are great! I make dinner, dish out the leftovers into individual containers and freeze (for future lunches and dinners), pull out the liner and throw it away. I get several meals from it - and a big plus...Self cleaning Cindy

  24. If you go to www.hormel.com and look under responsibility, click products, there is a whole list of gluten free products!
  25. If this only occurs when you have blood drawn, I wouldn't worry about it. "Abnormal" bruising can be a sign of low vitamin K. Vitamin K is what aids in clotting the blood. If you continue to bruise, I would check with your doctor to see if he/she wants to get a vitamin K level (Which would involve getting another blood test ) or add a gluten free supplement...
