  2. I get this without even getting gluten. Usually the first BM of the day, more so than the others. My doctor once explained that the "need to go" comes from a feeling of "stretching" in receptors in the area, and some are set to trigger that feeling on less stretching than others. So it can happen even without gluten.

  11. "cutting down on gluten" may make a big difference in test results, but you may not see as much change in your symptoms as you'd like.
  12. Sibewill, I believe the bill calls for the new labeling by 2006. Don't forget, however, that the bill only requires LABELING allergens, and DEFINING gluten free. So something may still be able to hide oats or rye or barley, because they are not common allergens.

  20. Fatigue: It took me a few weeks, but I don't think I'd been gluten-intolerant very long. Turns out, for me, part of the fatigue problem is low testosterone levels, and that is even more important than the gluten-free diet for keeping me from getting tired. (Though they both play a role.)   21. I would add that a gluten-free diet doesn't have to be that much more expensive IF you stick with naturally gluten free foods. Instead of buying millet for a side dish, have beans.
