  1. Just a note: This list is for Australia. The labeling laws are not the same as the USA or Canada so some of the terms they use will not be exactly like ours. In USA the most common allergens (wheat, and dairy among them) have to be listed on any foods manufactured after Jan 2006, and this will help us identify safe foods. It is a good idea to read labels...
  2. I don't eat dairy or gluten. I did not cry at Christmas but we had two dinners with family. At my side there was NOTHING for me that was safe to eat. I was ok with that because I had a migraine headache so bad I was vomiting and could not have eaten anyway. I think there were safe potato chips (but were they cross contaminated by the kids grabbing chips...
  3. Susan, this is the first time I ever heard the term "Eosinophilic gastroenteritis". I have no help to offer you, but I hope that now that the doctor knows what is making you feel so bad they can start to take care of the problem and get you better.
  4. I am certainly not an expert, but the food should not be in contact with the gasket of the blender. It is between the glass and the blade and it is so tight that the blender contents don't touch the gasket until you take it apart to clean the blender. During the clean up, a little of the blended food may get on it. I always spin a little soapy water...
  5. Hi, I am new to this too. The doctor kept telling me more and more things I could not eat until it got to the point that I was just not getting enough food to have any energy. Still, I had symptoms that were not going away. (I was not yet gluten free). I wonder if you need a little more carbs for some energy so you can make the healthy foods that...
  6. Would it help you to write down your main purpose and the name of the person you are calling before you place the call? When I make "important" calls I always try to write down names and dates of calls. Maybe this will work for you.
  7. Open Original Shared Link This link has a couple of different places than the list above. It is an allergen list, and it lists the ingredients in their menu items. You would have to read to see if they are gluten free, but it might help someone.
  8. For the sore skin I have been keeping a bottle of lotion handy. After I cean up with toilet tissue I flush and get new toilet tissue and add a little lotion and wipe again. This cleans my skin and soothes it. I also have a little sample bottle of lotion that I am carrying when I go out. Away from home cleaning with water is not usually an option....
  9. That sounds good. I think I my family will like that.
  10. I found a recipe for the dough only, I did not make it and I don't know if it is good or not. Here is the link though. Open Original Shared Link You might want to make a test batch before the holidays to see if these are what you want.
  11. Lisa, red blood is a condition that you need to let your doctor know about. I hope you feel better soon. Around here it is pretty NORMAL to talk about bowel habits, as odd as it would be anywhere else.
  12. Several months ago my family doctor told me she thought I had a problem with wheat. She did not think all my bloating was from dairy (which I had eliminated for a year with worsening symptoms). So off I go to gastro doc. He orders an endoscopy, and later Tga/Tgg blood tests. My endoscopy shows GERD. He says I have IBS with constipation. Blood work comes...
  13. I know this is a REALLY old thread, but I have been reading backwards through the website to learn and this one was so interesting I wanted the newer members to have a chance to see it too. I am not diagnosed yet. I am still working on that but this has been a great place to learn about Celiac Disease, the diet and how to get on with life and feel...
  14. Yvonne, I am very sorry about the loss of your brother. Take care of yourself right now and try to keep eating healthy so you don't get sick. ((hugs))

    ARCHIVED Yay!

You can't find more dedication and love than what you get from a pet. I hope your good friend helps you feel better when other things are on your mind.
  16. I am fine with not going. I am not feeling healthy right now and it would be more of a hassle than a pleasure. I need to take care of myself and get more stable before I travel. I would not want to be on a plane or a 2 1/2 hour car trip (some of the resorts are that far from airport, depends which one you choose) with digestive problems (ok, D). That...
  17. It was a real pleasure hearing from you and your interest in the Softlips® and Natural® Ice Lip Protectant products. All of these products are gluten free. We will be happy to send along a few discount coupons on these products to assist you in your purchases. Again, we appreciate your interest and support. Regards, Consumer Affairs Administrator ...
  18. Thank you for visiting Bigelow Tea's web site. You stated that you are gluten intolerant and would like to know which of our teas contain gluten. The following are teas that contain barley malt and test positive for gluten. While the flavors listed below have been discontinued, you may find them on the store shelf. They are: Apple & Spice...
  19. Today I got a phone call and I won a trip for two to Jamaica -- everything paid, worth $3000. This was a legitimate contest, not a scam and I entered before I thought I had any problems with wheat. Of course, I did not expect to win it! I thought about it for a while, talked to my husband and then I called the lady back and said no thank you. Open Original...
  20. The way I read it, anything from the "safe" product lines in any flavor would be ok for us to use. I have some lip smackers that are not the "jewel lip smackers" so I gave the new ones to my daughter and tossed the other ones. If I were planning to buy any of these, I would either print this list or copy and paste it into my Palm so I don't forget.
  21. I wondered if my Bonnie Bell lip gloss was safe so I sent an email. This is my reply a couple of days ago -- I thought I woud share it. Of course the one item I wanted on the safe list is not there, LOL. The following Bonne Bell, Inc. products can be used by people afflicted with Celiac disease. They do not contain any gluten containing grains...
  22. My son is in college and he wanted a few bowls to use in the dorm microwave. I decided to check out the thrift shop and see if they had anything that would work. I saw LOTS of glass mixing bowls, baking pans, pans for the stove top and stainless steel pots too! All at very bargain prices. If you are looking to set up a few "safe" cooking items, look...
  23. Help! My belly is so bloated and it hurts. I am still not gluten-free because I need to have blood tests done. I see the GI next week. I feel like I have been waiting forever to finally get better. My worst problem is the bloating. Pants don't fit. I got some that are MUCH bigger and I am in danger of growing out of those too -- not weight gain, just...
  24. I hope tomorrow is better for you
  25. Welcome Rocksea! I am glad you think this site will help you when it comes to feeding your son. There are so many recipes here, most of them you can use or modify. This group comes with very individual needs, but no one here is using wheat. Happy Birthday (a little early) to your son. He is lucky his Mom is willing to try something new...
