    If they can get me set for a biopsy soon, I will do it. But if it's gonna be more than a couple weeks, I'm not waiting. I'm sure either way there will still be damage present though because from my understanding the villi damage takes a while to heal, unlike the antibodies which can vanish quickly. (Is that correct?)     What was the "negative" range for your IgA ttg test? (Should be "<#") Does your lab work show a "total IgA" on it? I've seen some people say it says "count" and some have it say "syrum".

    If the range for that lab has negative at under 6, I think it's safe today that it's celiac. The specialist will likely decide to order a full celiac panel, and possibly an endoscopic biopsy (not sure about the 18 months old and a scope though). As a minor, if you can't get your parents to say yes now (assuming you are dependent on them to the extent of insurance and a ride to and from getting an endoscopy), then as soon as you can talk with your doctor, do a gluten challenge (8-12 weeks eating the equivalent of 2 slices of bread a day...

    I've been trying to cope with the fact that it appears there aren't many celiacs around where I live. We have no health food stores, very very limited selection of gluten-free products in the chain stores, no support groups, and medical professionals who seem clueless about celiac (trying to say it's an allergy and I don't need to eat gluten to be tested...

    A result of 0 would definitely point to being IgA deficient. Remember, this does NOT mean you are NOT celiac. As others have said, a result of 0 is unheard of by them. It would be recommended to request your doctor run a different type of test (either IgG blood or an endoscopic biopsy). Please do not rule out celiac until further testing is done, as a "false...
