  1. All right....I'll see what I can do to get him selling a pair of my stilettos. Hmmmm. standard poodles are often regarded as the wimps of the large breeds...dunno if I can talk him into this one, as it could perpetuate that stereotype...

  3. Why, it's up for bids on ebay!! I have some fairly...special...hats for sale. Proceeds to go to Annie's leg, and Stinker's Ativan prescription. Ah, Susie, we just can't do it like you and your girls!! You've got the ebay doggy-model market cornered...Gus is just an enormous goof, and will NOT pose at ALL. Look at his face. Very put out. Cannot even...
  4. Yeah, we have 'em up here, too. Following the Commonwealth and all, we still respect some of the best ol' British legislation. And thank Gawd we still observe the law about pregnant women relieving themselves wherever they see fit. I had many a moment at nine months along in parked cars, mailboxes, compost bins...all quite legally.
  5. This excellent website has all kinds of info on what's gluten-free and what isn't. You also have to worry about cross-contamination and personal care products (yes, some shampoos, soaps and toothpastes have gluten in them...). Eating like a caveman is very wise for anyone, and particularly for diabetics and celiacs, as gluten and sucrose are loaded into most...
  6. Hi, m19, and welcome! Well, the most recent reliable statistics tell us that one in eight type one diabetics have trouble with gluten (celiac or intolerance). My guess is that it's even higher than that. So, you're diabetic and you've got some classic symptoms of celiac disease. Couple that with the fact that yes, there can absolutely be false negatives...
  7. Yeah, that was in Ottawa...Lotta people driving by to check those out... Oh, Richard....Those motion detector lights should be flashin'!

  12. You survived your fortieth, Bev! Excellent... Hilarious...Here is one of the gems from this very funny English book I dug up from our basement. Hard to categorize, this book. It's a collection of bizarre thoughts, facts, political satire... THE OPEN UNIVERSITY: CONTEMPORARY STUDIES Continuous Assessment Course...
  13. Yes, endocrinologists have known about the conspicuous number-one ratings of diabetics and milk drinkers in Finland for a while...My endo advised me to keep milk out of both of my kids' diets until they were two or so (I am type one). I have always believed that milk is bad for most of humanity, and that it's essentially not there for our consumption. So...
  14. For many years, Finland has had (by far) the highest per capita percentage of type one diabetics, as well. We know of the clustering of autoimmune disorders, so I guess this isn't so surprising...

    ARCHIVED Leaky Shwanz

Yes, kegels are great, and I often think of them as a treatment for female incontinence, particularly after pregnancy...but I hadn't thought about them for male incontinence. Certainly makes sense, though. Both sexes can have weak or compromised pelvic floor muscles. It's funny that this has happened suddenly, though, DM, and we can be fairly certain it...
  16. Oh my Gawwwwd...... Green guy emoticon, PLEASE!!
  17. Jin...you could very well be onto something. This just may change my entire life, and the way I remember my momentous Wedding Day. Maybe my dad was dressed as my mom. And you know, there was a Mexican man there, quietly in the back. I thought he was a friend on my husband's side, or a migrant worker coming in for a break in the heat. And clowns...well...
  18. Oh, Amanda, you look BEAUTIFUL in that photo! And I, as well, cried when my dad and I danced, and also just briefly when he turned to me after we'd walked down the aisle and had tears in his eyes and said he loved me. And no, he was not dressed as an old woman, or an obese chef, or a Mexican prison guard...(Thank gawd)....
  19. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BEV!!! Think I'll stay in birthday red for the day, as it is a great, lively, and in many cultures, SEXUAL colour... Along with green guy, we need a Party Chick emoticon... "In my forties, I'm going to pay attention to something I'd almost lost track of: myself. I'll be moving forward, not only as someone's wife or mother, sister or daughter...
  20. OMG.....My fellow Sexual Scorpio, turning forty!! (Hmmmm....Could I be sensing an obvious party theme, here?)
  21. Yeah, me too! Hope it's sunny and mild...Do we know exactly when the ceremony is?
  22. Actually, he could be the perfect date for a wedding....he'll be unable to catch the garter (a good thing, as he's likely not marriage material) because he'll be clutching his incision. I say chalk out that message, Susie! MJ has taught us that zombies can be winsome dancers, as well...
  23. Gad, yes...and his hair might move...
  24. Well...there's now one space available...Bob G.'s....
