  1. What a beautiful scene that all conjures up...what a tableau! And it all makes PERFECT SENSE! These are the obvious and perfect ingredients for an outstanding, unforgettable parade. In fact, under technical writing and instructions for classic parade convening, these four things should be listed as top priority.
  2. Susie, surely we can use your old carpeting in our procession...is it a royal scarlet colour, suitable for rolling out in front of our King and Queen? And whoa, guys....Care Bear Float, yes. Machine guns....welllll...uh...no. C'mon, ya think we got Mr. Heston as our Grand Marshall? sssshuuuddddder...
  3. We're not gonna cook up the Yeti, Tom...he's in the parade, waving and roaring menacingly, to add some drama. You are safe back there with him because cross-contamination could possibly happen (If, say, you licked him). Now, enough about yeti meat...yeti fur could be an issue for those with animal hair/dander allergies. Affected people should bring their...
  4. Alex!! HERE IS YOUR CONCERT BAND!! Superb! What a Parade this is beginning to sound like...we've got Alex and Carla on flute, (Alex, you can march and play simultaneously, c'mon!) , Lord Tom rounding off the brass section with his sax, and then perhaps strumming a bit (just bring the guitar, too)...I can sing, so I'll need to be mic'd (or maybe not....
  5. All right, all right...Lord Tom cannot be near the Tostito Eaters due to cross-contamination issues...And I realize that we also now have burritos somewhere in the fray...wait...you don't react to yeti meat? You see, we have one of those, so we'll just put you at the rear with him. ...Altoids to the men?...Hmmmm, what a concept. Methinks this Kingdom...
  6. I know, I know...It makes SO MUCH SENSE....How could no one have thought of any of this before?!
  7. Your Highness, Queen Beverly! The great overseer of hospitals, et al: We MUST induct Uncle Ray into our Empire (Poet Laureate? Certainly Court Jester) and he must be the Commissioner of the parade. I well remember the Altoids thread, but I didn't know a vehicle made it into the Rachelville thread. It should be LEADING this parade. In Fact, Queen Beverly...
  8. Ahhh, the Kingdom doth prosper, and grow! Daughter of the Light, please come into our grand Processional Parade...I believe you would add much interest with your propensity for dancing. You could appear in the middle, performing your Danzon, or a merengue, which I noticed you mentioned in your last post. However, methinks you should be performing something...
  9. The excitement is truly building...can you just hear the mumbling throughout the forum...on OMG, through the related disorders threads, into the technical section and through the Meeting Room--"hey...you guys hear what's goin' on over at Tickle Me? I hear there's some kind of a parade starting up...what do you think that means?"
  10. Well, yes! Whatever invokes the most mirth...if burritos are funnier, then I decree that we SHALL have burrito-eaters in this parade (Ho...quite a bit of power being assumed by me, the lowly alehouse slattern, what?) After all, it is the Sillyak Empire Cavalcade. Anything goes.
  11. Wow...this thread is developing into a palpable realm all its own...an empire with King, Queen, fifes, serfs and duchesses, many court jesters, (hmmmm...me....I could just be the slattern in the alehouse)....I think we should break into a huge virtual parade, with tassle-twirlers leading off, our Monarchs in fine livery, Lord Tom piping everyone in with his...
  12. Bev, you found my ski chalet in Banff! Isn't it lovely (or lurvely, for Susie)! Well, at least you didn't get this one: http://www.polarrace.com/images/medres/20050416-nw-igloo.webp Dunno how to put the URL into a word...must visit technical area. Actually, there are many Yeti sightings up there in the Yukon...wonder if these structures are Yeti...
  13. Dangit, I missed the 200 flipover by two... CONGRATULATIONS, BEV!! You are the current Sillyak Queen, so seat yourself beside our Good King Richard. That is, until we approach 300...then, I'll take another run at it! So Bev...did wailing sirens go off within your computer when the page turned? Flashing lights and clanging bells? Were you...
  14. This is killin' me. Someone else can be The Great Two Hundred Crosser....
  15. arrrrgh...C'mon....flip over....new page...new page...
  16. Wait....that wasn't page 200 yet.... Is this?......
  17. Yessssss!!! I'm the first one on PAGE 200!!!! ....do I get a house now?......
  18. Nikki, love your choice of name for your kitty...Will is my DH's name, as well. Means "strong protector". Dunno about my husband, but I bet that kitten could offer up some resolute protection! He looks adorable. Tom, I won't agree entirely with the mass, who strongly dislike football. I have followed the NFL a little, but I must tell you, here in Canada...
  19. This weekend is Thanksgiving here, and by the sounds of it nowhere else, so happy early/late Thanksgiving to everyone else! Over the last few years I have taken to sitting down after our massive dinner and really thinking about what I have to be thankful for. It is a sober, fulfilling and very necessary exercise for me, and something I should be practicing...
  20. Wow, Liz...I just love stories like this. We keep hearing them more and more. I am tempted now to interrupt everyone who is telling me of their latest illness, or that of their mother's, or son's, regardless of what it is, and say, "you know, you've got nothing to lose with trying the gluten-free diet, and the list of illnesses and diseases that it can...
  21. Yep, Jacks are fairly high-maintenance, as tends to happen generally with terriers. Something of an exception, though, is the Westie. They are calmer, smarter than we are, and shed very little. My vote, however, for all-around best family dog in every category is the standard poodle. The one trade-off is his need for regular grooming, but a few years...
  22. Yes, Bev...sorry about your ankle mishap. That joint can be a bugger when twisted. Take it easy...(Ha! right, huh?) Beautiful house, Carla!
  23. (^ ^) <> ............. Oh, man...that's the best pumpkin face I can do on here. Hmmmmm...gotta keep trying...
