  1. Hi everyone, well first of all, I want to say that I wasn't diagnosed with IC, but irritable bladder. My doctor gave me some medicine, gave me a few tests to check for cancer and then just told me I had irritable bladder, had to live with it, there are no specific foods to help it, and she gave me some perscriptions. Well, this was a year ago, one of...
  2. Actually, yeah, you're right. IBS is just an excuse, not a diagnosis. I get so sad when I think of all of the doctors that told me I had IBS (in the beginning, without even testing me!) and that it would never to lead to anything serious. It's so sad.
  3. Open Original Shared Link Wow! I just can't believe what I was reading. I've never read anywhere that IBS can lead to other diseases, even though I now know that it can, actually, ALWAYS does. I just wanted to share this because it shocked me so much. I mean, probably 75% of us were told we had IBS before we got the Celiac diagnosis and other illnesses...
  4. Actually, this is creepy because it really sounds like me. (The description of Diverticulitis). Everytime I get this problem after eating nuts, I also get a bladder infection, or what feels like one. They talked about that in the complications. Wow! If this is what I have, it says it usually clears in a few days with a liquid diet.....the only thing is that...
  5. Thanks! I didn't know that.....I knew that peanuts were like beans, but the other ones, no. Hmmm....I don't if those other foods bother me because I never eat them. Thanks for the site, I'll check it out. I was feeling good for about 3 weeks straight, for the first time, not one symptom. "(Eating just fruits, veggies, meat, fish and rice cakes) and then I...
  6. Hi everyone, Well, of course, I tried eating nuts again because I keep thinking that it's in my head that I have a problem with them. Then I thought, well maybe it's just peanuts...or cashews....maybe I can have raw almonds? So I tried them, and since then, my gut has been completely swollen and just doesn't seem to go down. I had them on Sunday. I had...
  7. Just to but in here.....I thought I had an intolerance to carrots because I had major digestive problems after eating them.....but then I realized that it was what was ON the carrots that was bothering me. For example, if I buy organic carrots, peel them really well, and wash them in boiling hot water, then I'm fine with them raw or cooked. But if I get non...
  8. This is so amazing that you are all going through almost the exact same things as me! Rachel, I know what you're talking about when you said the rash around your mouth makes you feel like you have a mustache because it's so dark. That is how I feel when it gets bad. It's like you see something is different about my face, it gets a little puffy and I feel...
  9. hahah you're so funny! But I just did! All of this fruit finally worked! I feel so much better now. How good does it feel to get all of that bad stuff inside of you out!??! hhaha....I feel like I have a fresh new start again. No more diviating. Anyway, I noticed that some of you are talking about a rash around your lips. I get that too, and then it...
  10. Patti, you get constipated from peanut butter too? ugh! Okay, I'm going to get a fruit salad right now. There is this guy on Wall St. with a little cart and he makes the BIGGEST fresh fruit salad. He also makes smoothies....it's great! That's my lunch! (There's watermelon in it.....I never knew, but that is supposed to help? ) I'm not in any pain, just backed...
  11. Well, this is very interesting. It seems all of us do JUST GREAT on fruits, veggies and meat. That seems to be my specialty too. Ever since I had the peanut butter on Sunday, I've been pretty messed up again. Not as bad as before, but almost. I'm very constipated, if I try to go, (this is graphic) but only like a small piece will come out and of course, it...
  12. what is a glutamate and how could it be bad? (I know, this really is a good thread....probably benefits most people on this site!)
  13. I find this very interesting..... I had peanut butter the other day....for the first time in a while, and I got some stomach discomfort. Nowhere near what I would get before, but enough to know that the peanut butter wasn't good for me. This also happened when I ate some cashew butter, and also a little bit if I tried ANY supplement. So I looked up the...
  14. So Rachel, you're still sick??? That's horrible! What about if you just stick with no supplements, and only whole fruits, veggies, and meat, plain, and rice and potatoes, all plain? Wouldn't that work? Or are you scared you would start loosing lots of weight again? Since that's all I've been eating, I started loosing weight again too, but I'm not worried...
  15. This has turned into another great thread! It's funny because I have been eating fruit in the morning as breakfast these days eating other things for lunch and dinner, and I've noticed that if I don't add the fruit again after dinner, my stomach feels extra comfortable. I mean, if I eat fruit after I eat a lot of dinner, it's not so bad that I get sick like...
  16. Wow! I haven't been keeping up, but it seems like everyone is having a problem with corn! It's like another epidemic, like gluten!!! Well, I was doing so well, and then yesterday I got my 'monthly friend' and had THE WORST CRAMPS EVER and I had a final at school and knew it was going to be a problem trying to concentrate when all I wanted to do was crawl...
  17. Wow! Well good for you Elonwy. Actually, it's funny how I just went through this problem. I think that his initial thoughts on it were the same as your ex's because he's also grown up with kind of a sheltered lifestyle. Nothing big has ever really happened to him. He doesn't have any major issues in his life, never has. Me on the other hand, hahaha....I like...
  18. I agree. That's how I saw/see it too. Everyone gets sick, we have the right to expect our partners will be there for us.
  19. Donna, you really should try it, especially considering that all of what you are going through were my lingering symptoms as well. I thought I was eating everything safe before until I realized that corn wax issue on fruits and veggies, and possible supplement problems. It's weird how just washing my veggies REALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLY WELL and peeling...
  20. Thank you Julie! But like I said, I COULD HAVE NEVER FELT THIS GOOD AND FIGURED THIS OUT WITHOUT EVERYONE ON THIS BOARD. I really am sooooo thankful for everyone here......I feel like you're all my best friends because you understand and are going through such a tough thing WITH me. No one else could understand, give this kind of support and knowledge.
  21. Elonwy, your boyfriend didn't want to have kids with you because of Celiac Disease? If I read that right, that's so interesting because my finace and I had a HUGE talk about this exact issue last week. He kept making remarks about our kids possibly getting celiac disease and I didn't understand it. Then he admitted to me that a couple of his friends/co-workers...
  22. Thank you for the support Patti and Rachel! I couldn't have learned all this on my own! I think we've all been through a lot with this thing......but thank God we have this site and each other to get down to the bottom of things! You're right Rachel, I was thinking about my wedding cake and wondering what's it's going to be made with considering I can...
  23. I just want to add to the corn intolerance part of this thread: THANK YOU RACHEL, AGAIN, for posting the corn info. I now consider myself symptom free, unless I get glutened, and it's only been once in the past couple weeks I've been corn free, and I knew it was gluten because I kissed my fiance after he ate tons of pretzals and broke out with exzema...
  24. I would suggest anyone who gets the 'IBS' diagnosis from their doctor to not accept that and figure out exactly what certain types of foods bother you. Also, I would suggest that you eat only natural things. After going gluten free, so many things cleared up, but it seemed like my IBS got worse! Well, after all my doctors told me to on meds. and I refused...
  25. Well, today I didn't take any pills, and the headache is gone again. I'm feeling so good, I can't believe it. I am not retaining ANY water for the first time in almost 2 months! I have energy, I have been eating all of the fruits/veggies that I want, and any amount, and I still have no gas or bloating. No heartburn, no backburn, the dry skin and rashes that...
