  1. I agree. I'm kind of afraid to take the chance because from what I understand, casein does a lot more to people than just give them stomach problems. Maybe after I've been on the diet for a long time..
  2. Wow! Surprising! But thanks for the info. I can't believe this. I have lived on tea. All kinds of herbal tea. I even just bought 3 little Celestial boxes. I can't believe we can't have chamomile. Oh well. It's not worth having the big cup in front of my face if it's going to mess up the whole diet. Thank God I waited for a reply because it is sitting here...
  3. Okay, I got a new question........can we have tea? herbal? gluten free? (of course) Plain chamomile? I'm still in the intro. diet by the way, if that makes any difference.
  4. Okay everyone, I'm on the SCD diet so I was reading about the yogart that we are supposed to make. It says for those with casein sensitivity, NOT allergy, we can probably have goats milk. It also says that it is like any other sensitivity, and it may one day go away. Here's the website: Open Original Shared Link She explains how although goats milk...
  5. Donna, sorry you're going through all of these extra tests when all you want to do is start the SCD! haha, well, hopefully they'll figure it out and you can start the diet and never look back. At least if you know if you have colitis or something, the diet should also help that. And if you have an infection, then you can just get some antibiotics for...
  6. Same with me Rachel. I can't eat any of those things right now, except meat, either. And my appetite is enormous as well. I think if I gain 5lbs, I would be happy but I just don't want to loose anymore or gain like 20lbs either! I have another question. Is it true that if you eat the same things over and over, you create intolerances to those things?...
  7. What tests are you taking exactly? May I ask what kind of pain you're in? My body has not been my own for about a month and a half straight now. That has not happened in a LONG LONG time. I don't know what triggered it, but it's horrible. Also, does anyone know if you gain weight on this diet? Or is it more a weight loss.......
  8. Okay guys, right now I'm eating lots of cooked mashed carrots and turkey burger. this is perfectly okay for my first day right? I'm so happy you're all doing this with me because it really gives me hope when you say it's working. My system is so messed up right now. Aches and pain in my stomach and back, "D" and bloated.
  9. Oh, yeah, I'm sorry for asking so many questions, but does anyone know if I can have ground turket meat? It says completely natural, organic, nothing added, etc. but wouldn't it be considered processed if it is 'ground' meat? It's like turkey hamburger meat, just not in the patti form. Oh and in the intro. can I have any kind of meat besides just fish...
  10. Thanks guys. Well, I can't have nuts either, so there goes the almond milk. And I'm drinking welches grape juice because that is what they say right on the website. (even though I don't understand it because it says 100% juice, no sugar added, etc., but in the ingrediants, it says 'concentrated' about 2 or 3 times.?) Anyway, do I have to have the yogart...
  11. Well, I guess I spoke too soon. I have 'D' now. Is this a good thing? Is the grape juice and water cleaning me out? Also, I keep getting an on and off sharp pain in my upper left side, a little in back, underneath my ribcage. I haven't had this since I had mono, but from what I understand, you can't get mono again after you've had it once, right? I was...
  12. Okay everyone, a couple of questions. For one, I can't have eggs, they bother me. Are eggs a MUST in the intro diet? Also, I read on the wesbsite that coconut milk isn't supposed to be tried until 6 months into the diet! That is the only kind of yogart I can make because I am casein sensitive......is the yogart also a MUST..??? What if I just drink...
  13. Well I'm excited too! I'm not really hungry at all these past two days, so I'm going to stick to a lot of water mixed with welches for now. I'll probably have the turkey meat tonight, and that's it. Last night I had broiled salmon, and that's it. I'm just not hungry.....maybe because my stomach is not right and everytime I do eat, I get pains. Anyway, I don...
  14. That's what I do too. So for the next few days, because of time and other intolerances, I'm going to live on broilded fish, water and welches grape juice. Do you guys think this will do until I can get the stuff for the yogart and make it? I don't have to have eggs and dairy right? Also, I have ground turkey meat. Can I eat that? I don't have my book yet...
  15. neither do I , but I just read the safe and unsafe list and you can't have any commercial yogart! Annoying right? Well I can't have any dairy, and I can't make mine either because I work full time and go to school full time. So I'm going to just have juice and fish for the next few days until I get the book.
  16. what does it taste like? obiously not creamy like real milk.
  17. Thanks Meredith! That gives me hope!!!
  18. Okay everyone. I'm joining your SCD club! Now, I just ordered the book online because it wasn't at the Borders by me and it won't get to me until March 14-16!!!! So, right now, for today and tomorrow, I'm just doing a pure liquid diet because NOTHING IS WORKING. So, can you guys just give me a clue as to what I should do for the first few days after that...
  19. I'm sorry to hear that you are living with so much pain! Hopefully A LOT has gotten better though! So, okay, I guess I can just never ever ever eat cheese again. There are not casein free cheese or milk, right? I need to check this out. Thanks for all the info. though!
  20. Thanks so much! I'm on my way out to get the book now! I'm excited! It seems like it really works and that makes my day!!
  21. what is coconut milk made out of ? no casein, right? Where did you get the recipe? It's in the book? hahah, i know so many questions, I just need to buy the book I guess first. what if I just had the juice and water for breakfast the first few days, would that not work? I don't have too much time to make yogart right now and I want to start this A.S.A.P.
  22. Thanks! I'm already looking at it and wondering, okay, I can't have breakfast, or lunch....... I can't have eggs or dairy, what do we do then?
  23. Shoot, nevermind. Answered my own question. Okay ladies, I'm going to join you on this!
  24. okay everyone, I'm going to get this book and begin this diet myself. I'm exhausted of trying to figure things out on my own and find doctors who can really help me. So what is the name and author? I'm going to run to Borders on my lunch break. Wait, is it called, 'Breaking the vicious cycle' by Elaine Gottschall? Thanks!
  25. Wow! So you are intolerant to a lot too. Do you feel completely normal being off of those things? Or do you feel that there are more foods that are creeping up on you that you need to eliminate. And sheep milk and cheese have casein in it? I know the goat cheese does, but a lot less than cow. I really would like some kind of dairy in my diet. Thanks for all...
