Okay, now another question...... do you guys know if the foods that I am intolerant to, besides gluten, I should avoid like the plauge, as well? For example, I now know that dairy gives me 'C' mixed with 'D' and weird nerve headaches. So, should I avoid that like crazy too, even if the only time it bothers me is if I have too much of it, for example, a...

Hi Ev, (Sorry, that's your name right?) thanks for replying. Well I'm glad to hear someone else decided that this might be a little too hard to do alone. That's great that your Mom knew this woman and she also has a child with Celiac. So, now that you know your for sure safe foods, do they stay that way? Because I heard that when you eat too much of the...

Ooh thank you so much!!! I would love to talk more through e-mail, I need all the help I can get! My e-mail is Danikali22@hotmail.com I don't want to diet, but I want to stop making myself sick from overeating....it's like, I get so bloated from just the side effects of Celiac and then I add food, and more food, and before you know it, I'm so tight in...

Thank you Rebecca! Well, I searched nutrition under my insurance company and this is how I found who I am going to. She said that although she does not specialize in Celiac Disease, she has had patients who have celiac disease. Also, how do I know if she is a registered dietician. I already made the apt. so I don't want to call her and ask her, I feel like...
-
Okay guys, I finally made the apt. with the nutritionist, I am having too many problems and my DF (fiance, I think I made that up myself? haha) has been telling me that I need some guidance ever since I found out about gluten. (Way before I was tested for anything). So, I've been having tons of problems this week and was up all night, so he called me today...

ARCHIVED Are We Never Going To Be 'normal' Again?
danikali replied to danikali's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Wow! What an inspirational thread this has turned into! I'm so glad I have found this site because all of you are really helping me deal with my own 'grieving process' and making me come back to reality that this is real, this is forever, and it's a HUGE change, but that doesn't have to mean it's a bad change. I have the power to make myself feel better,... -
ARCHIVED Kraft Foods
danikali replied to danikali's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Well someone worried me, that is why I started this thread. No need to delete this thread, as someone may know what I'm talking about. To everyone: I don't feel 'glutened' after eating the Kraft product, I started the thread as a 'just in case' -
ARCHIVED Kraft Foods
danikali replied to danikali's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Thank you Hez, I'm like 98% positive I read it yesterday, but I know someone said something bad about even their supposedly gluten-free foods. I'm wondering all of a sudden because I just ate life savers fruit chews and then I noticed that it was made by Kraft, and now that I read that thread, it's got me thinking... -
I'm just wondering.....I know that Kraft has many 'gluten free' foods, but I just read somewhere, today or yesterday that there was something wrong with Kraft foods and we should stay away. I can't find that post now, and I know it wasn't under any name regarding Kraft. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Thanks!

ARCHIVED Starbucks
danikali replied to Nashville's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
oooh, darn! I threw it all out, and I wanted to keep the cup. (the ones in the office are so small and I have to keep running back and forth to the kitchen! haha)........well, I guess I know for next time! But I'm proud of myself for not taking the chance on the spot! Before I would have just said, welll....it couldn't be, and then be in trouble. Thanks though... -
ARCHIVED Starbucks
danikali replied to Nashville's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Actually, on the same subject, but different drink, does anyone know about their teas? I'm a BIG dummy because I just ordered the largest one, then left, then thought, wait, I didn't look at the ingrediants! (it was chamomile, but I know theirs isn't JUST chamomile)......so I went back and asked to read a box and there was no clear barley or anything but... -
ARCHIVED Are We Never Going To Be 'normal' Again?
danikali replied to danikali's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
You know Berness, and everyone, you made some good points. My bad days are NOT EVEN A TAD BIT CLOSE TO MY BAAAAAD DAYS before gluten-free. I literally could not get out of bed, and if I tried, I nearly fainted. Oh my gosh! Those days were so scary! I was at a different doctor almost once every two weeks and I kept telling them, I think something is seriously... -
Monica, you said that you are having problems with 'C' again. Maybe it is the milk/dairy products. I know that when I drink milk or have dairy, I don't get pains or anything, but I get very constipated. Then when I go off of dairy, I am as regular as a regular person! haha! Maybe you should try no dairy for a week or two just to see how it goes. It is a known...

ARCHIVED Is Recovery Like A Rollercoaster?
danikali replied to Wendyp's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I don't have an answer for you, but that's an interesting theory. I've also noticed that I feel my best the week before I get my period. (or about 2 days before I am going to get it, I start getting symptoms)......but then again, that's also when I start craving bad foods, and I always try new 'gluten free' things or mainstream gluten free products that are... -
ARCHIVED Necco Sweetheart Candies
danikali replied to teankerbell's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hi Laura, haha, me again. But it must be derived from corn because I eat Neccos, the regular ones and I've never had a problem with them. ...........did you get sick from them last night? -
ARCHIVED Raw Nuts Ok?
danikali replied to teankerbell's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hi Laura, it's me. There might be exceptions, but I am 99.9% positive that raw nuts are fine because they aren't processed or cooked, so unless you have a problem with the nuts themselves, they should be fine. No gluten. -
ARCHIVED Msg
danikali replied to gointribal's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications

danikali replied to danikali's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I'm just sitting here, eating my rice cakes, reading posts and I'm like, whoa, this is an old post.....ANA?! hahahahaha, I was so surprised to see it was you replying to me! haha, I've been looking for your posts even though I didn't know your name! haha.......but both of ours are pretty obvious! lol....too funny -
ARCHIVED Planters Peanuts Ok?
danikali replied to gointribal's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
is Msg in all roasted nuts because I finally just figured out that ALL nuts bother me unless they are straight from the shell, a CLOSED shell. Like peanuts you get at a baseball game. That's pretty much it. -
GlutenfreeAL, that's how I feel too! And someone else mentioned turning into a rabit......that seems to be me too! So far, I can't have gluten, dairy, soy, nuts, caffeine and most alcohol! After feeling healthy for about 2 weeks straight, I decided to try caffeine again. Just plain black Starbucks coffee, nothing in it. About a half hour after I was drinking...
-
I am JUST LIKE YOU Berneses. I do EVERYTHING right, and then I start feeling better, so I take a chance, and there I am again, glutened. For example, I was feeling pretty 'normal' Friday and Saturday, so Saturday night, me and my DF decided to try a gluten free resturant. (Sambuca in NYC). Well, the food WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!! I got gluten-free pasta, and it...

ARCHIVED Urinary Tract Infections
danikali replied to EmilyLMT's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Well I wouldn't completely throw gluten out the window because there are a lot of people on this site, including me, who have had SEVERAL bladder, kidney, UTI's while we were at our worst before knowing about Celiac disease. So, I would like to believe that it DOES have something to do with gluten because now that I am gluten free, my bladder and infections... -
ARCHIVED Are We Never Going To Be 'normal' Again?
danikali replied to danikali's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
You're right, that's true, it could always be worse. And I will admit that when I feel good, I REALLY FEEL GOOD THESE DAYS! I mean, better than ever and so many things really HAVE improved. But when I fall down, it's extra disapointing because I JUST FELT LIKE A MILLION BUCKS and it scares me that I am just being teased. But again, it could be worse and... -
ARCHIVED Are We Never Going To Be 'normal' Again?
danikali replied to danikali's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
hahahahaha, Marcia, that's so funny. "Am I screwed?" That would have been an interesting thread too! Anyway, I know I know, there really is no 'normal' but what I meant was, will I ever be able to live my life, eating the things that I know I shouldn't and be able to move past this? Or will my diet constantly be changing? I know I have never really been...
