Isn't that crazy that they have to put all of that stuff on nuts? All we need is salt!! -
ARCHIVED Roasted Nuts
danikali replied to danikali's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
IN a forum that I posted two days ago, someone told me that ALL dry roasted nuts are contaminated. They did make the point though that not all ROASTED nuts have gluten, but all DRY roasted nuts. What do you think? Hmmmmmm........ -

Good ones! My Step-mom was trying out the diet actually (due to her having Rheumatoid Artheritis) and she just bought Rice Milk and I said, uh oh. Sorry but there's gluten in there, and I showed her the teeny tiny label. Also, the licking envelopes is good too! -
ARCHIVED Roasted Nuts
danikali posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Okay, I recently, as some of you know, found out that I was getting glutened by roasted nuts that I have been eating for the past week! I had no idea and thought that something was really wrong since "I wasn't eating any gluten!" (I def. was!) I went home after I discovered this possible culprit, and all of the nuts that I had were dry roasted!!! The more... -
ARCHIVED Really Getting Frustrated Again!

Thank you so much Patti! That makes me feel a lot better knowing that depriving myself of everything may only be making things worse. My stomach is completely normal today, after having weird stuff get worse and worse everyday for the past week. (I think it also may be those nuts that I've been eating, dry roasted). I think the most frustrating part of Celiac... -

ARCHIVED Sushi
danikali replied to danikali's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Well, I got it today before I got to see any posts. I took that green stuff out from the side of the package (that spicy green stuff).......but when they put it in the bag, everything got tossed around, so before I took it off, there were some tiny tiny tiny tiny specs on the sushi. I tried to take it all off..........am I going to get sick now? I'm scared... -

I agree, and I remember you saying this at dinner when we went out. And the more I thought about it, I realized that the times when "milk" hurt me the worst, was when I would eat it with cereal! Duh! Regular, gluten containing ceral! And then I tried the soy milk which was okay at first, and I liked it so much that I would drink it straight (no cereal-I never... -
HI! Just wondering if sushi is okay if I don't get the imitation meat. I'm starving and going to lunch soon. Since I just took nuts out of my diet (for now) I need something to fill me! Thanks!

May I ask why so many Celiacs and gluten intolerant people have problems with peanuts? I'm staying away from all nuts for a few days now, and I'll add the peanuts last but can peanuts alone really cause stomach and acid problems? Do nuts have acid? And are ALL roasted nuts made with gluten? -
ARCHIVED Really Getting Frustrated Again!

Thank you everyone, so much! Well, I'm feeling a little better today. I couldn't sleep last night at all due to really bad heartburn (like a knife going into my chest) and stomach pains. I kept getting up to go to the bathroom, too. Anyway, for some reason, in the middle of all of my thoughts, I heard my Mom saying "you need something to coat your stomach... -

danikali replied to jkmunchkin's topic in Doctors
Hi! I was trying to make an apt. like crazy with that doctor, but they were never returning my calls! HOw did you do it? But I ended up going to see Dr. Green because I was really sick one week and my fiance's boss knew someone who know someone, etc. to get me into see him the next morning! ARCHIVED Is Anyone As Angry As Me?
danikali replied to puppasita's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Well, if you are gluten intolerant, there is no way you are going to get better with going on and off the diet. That is what I was doing before I had all the tests done and just "suspected" that I had Celiac. If you watch the post diagnosis threads on this site, and as I am learning myself (being still newly diagnosed), it takes a while to really feel completely... -
ARCHIVED Go Smile Toothpaste...
danikali posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hi everyone. Well, I've been feeling so good this past week, except for a couple of little things that I noticed came back, but just a little bit. This weird headache that I get when I eat gluten, where if I touch the right side of my head, even a piece of my hair, I get a sharp nauseating pain in the left side of my head. Well, it's back.......and... -
I have had dreams about EATING gluten. For example, the other night I had a dream I was at a party with all of my friends from high school and there was chicken with breading there. I looked at it and thought, I can't have that, there is gluten on it. Then I found myself eating it and eating it until I stopped myself and said, I just had 4 pieces of chicken...

ARCHIVED Safe Rice Milk
danikali replied to krisb's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I know someone already posted Lundberg's ricemilk, but I just want to add that I LOVE THE TASTE OF IT! I go through 3 cartons a week! Is that bad? hahah I don't care actually. I get the vanilla kind, but the original tastes good too. -
ARCHIVED Bambam's Diet
danikali replied to BamBam's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Nancy, I just bought it, the threelac. How many times have you used it? How quick does it work? I have known that I've had problems with yeast for a while along with Celiac. That over the counter stuff will work for about 2 weeks and then it comes right back. So once you take the recomended dose of this stuff, and it completely gets rids of the yeast... -
ARCHIVED Knee Pains

Okay, interesting. This is really good information. Yeah, I guess I do ROM even though I never knew what it was. It does help to walk......it doesn't bother me practically at all when I walk.........I just bought some glucosamine yesterday but not I noticed that there is soy in it so I have to go back to the store today......But I hope this works. Oh yes! Forgot to add alcohol! Very very bad for me these days. Even a little bit! Think of how you used to feel drinking beer (from the barley). One sip made you want to die, right? Well, these days, that's how I am to ANY kind of alchohol. Hopefully I can have THAT in moderation one day. I'm not a big drinker, never was, and I don't like to drink to get... -
ARCHIVED Knee Pains
danikali replied to danikali's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hi Annette, What is ROM's? I don't know if I was glutened though, that's the thing. My stomach is only bothering me right now because of my "monthly friend" but before that, it was perfect.....plus, I'm only eating safe foods from home, or fruits in a peel from the store. That's why I'm thinking it has to be the citrus fruits. I wasn't eating oranges for... -
ARCHIVED Is Gluten Intolerance Forever?
danikali replied to danikali's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Julie, that's interesting that he said he was "cured"......hm.....I kind of find it weird though that he went to a celiac center and they told him he was "cured." I agree with you thinking that he got the wrong diagnosis in the first place, but I'm wondering what else that could be. Because all of the other diseases similar to Celiac are not curable either...
