  1. How do I know if I'm casein intolerant? I've been going on and off the dairy for a few weeks now and have not noticed any major changes, if any at all.....but on the other hand, I don't want to be sacrificing my immune system only sticking to the gluten free diet but eating casein! I'm kind of scared here because I've had SEVERE depression before, and if...
  2. are there any gluten free and dairy free chocolate bars out there? I looked at DOVE dark chocolate, but they still add dairy. I'm craving it, I haven't had it since the gluten challenge, but I don't want to feel like crap if I have some!
  3. Well I've noticed that some days, I'm okay and can have a normal amount of food. But after about 3 days like that, my appetite is enourmous and I'm craving anything sweet, creamy, chocolate, etc. I hate it because it seems like I am never satisfied on these days. I've never had this feeling so bad until I went gluten-free. I don't know what it is. Maybe I...
  4. Yeah, I'm thinking that some sort of anxious thing was happening because I was getting frustrated that my chest hurt when I breathed in, so maybe that was making the shortness of breath. But right now for example, I don't have shortness of breath, but when I take a deep breath, I have a pain in my chest, like just above my heart, around my breastbone. And...
  5. Wow! Yeah, it does sound like a lot of what he's going through is happening to me too! And I've been gluten free since November, so that's about 2 months or a little over, so I'm sorry to hear that he's going through this too, but I'm glad you shared with me because that means I'm not completely off track! I'm feeling a little better today but I think...
  6. Hmm...that's interesting. I wonder if mine is actually from dairy, could that be possible? I just started adding milk into my diet once a day because I thought that would help me, but then this happened and now I'm off of dairy again..... When are you supposed to get your tests back? I've never been tested for asthma, but I don't think that's what it...
  7. MUUUUUUCHOOOOOOO THANKS from me too! I don't know what I would do without you guys! You're the best! Muah!
  8. Actually, maybe you're right..............
  9. That's really interesting because my symptoms always seem to get a little bit better when I'm smoking, and vice versa, worse when I'm not smoking again......... Well, I'm not smoking anymore, so we'll see what happens.
  10. That's interesting......you heard that quitting smoking can bring on more symptoms of Celiac? Did I get that right?
  11. Yeah, thanks for the suggestion, but I'm pretty sure that's not what it is. I'm actually pretty relaxed because tomorrow I'm going on vacation. And I always think a lot, and rethink and overthink! haha, also, I've had panic attacks before, but it's not that. I know I made it worse when I was stressing about it, but it's there regardless. My chest is just...
  12. Actually, I just looked over the food list for salicylatyes, and I must have this problem! Every single thing in the Bad List bothers me, and I'm having this breathing problem right now which is probably because I kind of overdosed on Pepto yesterday and on the back of it it said "DO NOT TAKE IF YOU ARE ALLERGIC TO SALICYLATYES" WOWWWWWWWWW
  13. Hi guys, Well, last night for like 5 hours, my chest was REALLY REALLY REALLY tight and I had to take very little, frequent breaths. I didn't really notice a difference sitting or standing, but laying on my side helped a little. Enough so I could finally go to sleep. Today, I woke up, and it's still there, but not AS bad. It's not an asthma attack or...
  14. Wow! Thanks for all of the info. I never got an official diagnosis of IC either, but I know I have it because I researched it like crazy for about 4 months straight. Then when I went to see the Urol., she had no idea what IC even was (like you mentioned) and told me that I just have "Irritable Bladder." The same dumb excuse that GI's give when they can't...
  15. Oh, I'm so happy for you Nini! That's great that you are not only feeling better physically, but mentally too with the weight loss! May I ask if you had any food intolerances? And also, when would you say you really noticed that you were feeling like a 'normal' person again (aside from the fibro.).? And what do you think made all the difference...
  16. Hi, I was blood tested for many many many allergies, and nothing at all came up. But, I am also still having problems even though I am not eating gluten. I have read a million times over and over that FOOD INTOLERANCES and ALLERGIES are different and that you cannot detect a FOOD INTOLERANCE through a blood test. That is why they have the elimination...
  17. Wow that's great Shirley! You can everything except gluten now! That's so encouraging to someone like me who also seems to not be able to tolerate a lot of things! May I ask how your allergies were treated? And were they actual, blood tested allergies, or 'food intolerances' that you had to detect through eliminating? It scares me to see how many people...
  18. Wow! You are practically explaining my bladder to a T! Yes, I get shooting pains in my legs before and during my period and I also get a weird, 'pulling' feeling on my urethra. I don't really know how to explain it, but it's not a burning, although I do get that from time to time, but it feels like something is pulling it! I know, weird! I also notice that...
  19. Wow! That's a good one...........thanks! Half of these trigger foods don't even NEED gluten in them......they only make it harder on people like us! WHY WHY WHY???
  20. Thanks Nadia. Starting today actually, I'm doing an elimination diet and I got a journal to prove it! I'm only going to have bananas, apples, applesauce and rice cakes because I am positive these things don't bother me. Now, when should I start adding other foods in? Like in a week? Also, is there anyone else out there with a story of encourgement...
  21. Thank you so much! These are the kind of things I want to hear! Yeah, I would consider you a 'senior' celiac, since you've been off of gluten for at least a year and you know what to eat and not to eat. May I ask why you got off of all processed foods? I am too, except for rice cakes and rice milk. I don't really eat out anymore either except a gluten...
  22. I guess nobody is healed yet? That's scary...........

    ARCHIVED New Doctor...

I just want to say that I'm very happy for you Rachel! You're always trying to help me out with my issues and now you've got someone to really help you get to the bottom of all of this and get really healthy! I think it's amazing also that you have found a doctor that will listen to you, and actually be ON YOUR SIDE, instead of trying to be a "know...
  24. Hi guys, I'd just like to know how many of you out there consider yourself 'healed' but are just on this forum to get new tips, food ideas, give advice, etc. I know they say that everyone is different when it comes to your gut healing and being able to STAY healthy, for a while at a time, but I'd just like to read some actual experiences with this...
  25. When I went home for Christmas, the first thing my Mom said to me when she picked us up at the airport was, "Can you have a McDonalds hamburger?" Yeah, I can Mom. "Really?" NO! "What if you just take the bun off?" (COMING FROM MY MOTHER!)
