natalie replied to natalie's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
THANK YOU CYBERPROF!!! The yorkshire puddings were amazing. My family (non celiacs) loved them. Just like the real thing. I followed the recipe exactly and they turned out perfect first time. I haven't tried the second recipe that was posted, but thanks for the reply. Natalie -

ARCHIVED I Baked A gluten-free Black Forest Cake
natalie replied to Ursa Major's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Whenever I make the Glutino cake mixes I use buttermilk instead or regular milk...it makes it really moist! It may need to bake a little longer though. -
ARCHIVED Bruising While Giving Blood
natalie replied to little d's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Very interesting!! I have a terrible time giving blood. It takes them 30 minutes to find a vein and then it is sooooo slow. They also told me I could never donate blood...it would take too long. I was just diagnosed recently, I don't know if it will improve. -

ARCHIVED What Do You Think Triggered Celiac For You?
natalie replied to a topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I'm pretty sure of my daughter's trigger. She was 2 1/2 at the time. The family was together at my Mother -in-laws for a family birthday. My son and daughter were playing with their cousins and my niece bit my daughter. It broke the skin, you could see my nieces imprint of her upper and lower teeth on my daughter's arm. A few weeks later the vomitting started... -

ARCHIVED Enterolab Positive - Blood Work Negative!
natalie replied to mykidsmommy's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Sorry it has taken so long to respond, I have been away from the site for a few weeks. Just this past week I decided to order the Entrolab kit for my son. He is so tiny for a 6 year old and given his sisters and my Celiac diagnosis well, I want to see what they come up with. After that I may take those results to my doctor and possibly have him looked at... -

natalie replied to Annaem's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Hi, Last year I saw Dr. Michelle Peitzak (sp??) speak at a Celiac conference. She said you should introduce gluten not before 6 months of age but no later than 9 months of age. Hope this helps. -

ARCHIVED Glutening & Your Child ~ A Poll:
natalie replied to dandelionmom's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
1. How often does your child get glutened? Maybe 2x per year if that. 2. How long do symptoms usually last? Major vomitting for 3-4 hours, then sleepy and faint, clammy skin, irritable, stomach and throat pain. 3. Can you always identify where the gluten came from? Usually 4. How do you help them through a glutening? Cuddles, cold cloth, rice or bananas... -

ARCHIVED Celiac Diease And Obesity
natalie replied to Lolabell's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I too am overweight... about 80lbs. I have steadily gained for the last 6 years, no matter what I do it won't come off. My daughter was diagnosed 1 1/2 years ago and in doing my research I was sure I had it myself. I had the blood work, it was negative. I had Entrolab testing done and I was through the roof. My doctor decided to do a biopsy given I have been... -
