  1. Good luck to both you and your son. I'll be thinking of you. Natalie
  2. Thanks everyone, I started the gluten free diet on Friday afternoon. I haven't noticed a difference yet, I made need to give up dairy for a little while. Yes, I thought it was interesting the comparison between Entrolab and the GI doctor. In Canada we need a biopsy confirmation to get tax credits for food, so I wanted the biopsy. I think the Entrolab...
  3. Hi Everyone, Thanks for all of the responses to my post. I think a lot of you misunderstood me, I am not nursing at the moment, my children are 6 and 4 now, but at the time I had trouble breastfeeding. I was just curious if anyone else had the same experience. One post said that some mom's don't realize how much effort bf takes. Believe me, I know about...
  4. Hi Everyone, I have posted in the past as my daughter has been Celiac for 1 1/2 years now. At the time of her diagnosis, after reading the symtpoms, I was sure I had suffered from celiac. The only problem is.... I am overweight, actually obese, so I was never taken seriously. I did the Entrolab and my results were : Fecal Antigliadin IgA 209 (Normal...

  7. Thanks, I will give that a try. Natalie
  8. Hi, This is the exact toothpaste that I phoned about. They can't be sure that any of their ingredients have come in contact with gluten. I asked for a list and there are no gluten ingredients in it. Now I'm not sure what to do. Natalie
  9. Hi JennyC, My daughter has Celiac and has attended a few birthday parties ( she just turned 4). I usually make a cupcake and decorate it with fun sprinkles. I also get a gluten free pizza crust from a health food store or online ( Kinnininick foods has a good crust) and make Allison her own pizza. I usually heat it up at home and take it along. If you...
  10. Hi Everyone, I was looking through the message boards and I was wondering if anyone here with celiac had trouble producing enough breastmilk. I am in the process of being tested for Celiac and I was making a list of symptoms for the GI doctor. My daughter was diagnosed with Celiac at 2 1/2 years old. With both of my children ( who are now 6 and 4) I...

  14. Hi Everyone, Just curious what toothpaste you use for your children. I picked up Colgate bubble gum; called the company and they said they don't intentionally add gluten but they cannot be sure that there other ingredients have not come in contact with gluten. What do you think of this statemtent? Thanks, Natalie
  15. Hi, I live in Ontario and I recently had testing done through Entrolab. My family doctor put it in my file and refered me to a GI doctor. My daughter has biopsy confirmed celiac, so that may have helped. She didn't give much comment on her thoughts of the results. I was off the charts with Entrolab and IGG positive, IGA top end of normal with bloodwork...
  16. I am in the middle of planning our vacation to Flordia and WDW. I booked lunch and dinner reservations for 3 days and I explained about my daughters Celiac. They made notes during the booking of times and then gave me the phone number for each restaurant to speak to the chefs. They are completely accomadating. Apparently they will be ready to serve her all...
  17. Hi, I am also planning a trip to WDW. You could please email me that list of restaurants. Thank you so much. natalie@northland-inc.com

  20. Hi Everyone, We are taking our children to Orlando in May. We have rented a house so I plan on doing some cooking. Are there gluten-free food items accessable in grocery stores in the US (we are from Canada)? What are the best stores to shop at? We will eat the food at disney since they sound amazingly accomadating to Celiacs. Any advice would be appreciated...

  22. Hi, The Keg Steakhouse is a chain in Canada and they are very accomadating to Celiac's. There is a Keg that is on the 13th floor of the Raddison ( I think !!). They offer fallsview tables, which are amazing. We took my daughter there last summer and they were wonderful. Hope this helps. Natalie
  23. Hi I understand how you feel. My 3 year old daughter has been gluten free for 3 months now. The other day at daycare she ate a piece of garlic toast ( the teacher's back was turned ). She threw up the whole evening and night. It is frustrating. Regards, Natalie
  24. Thanks Patty ! I agree , maybe the rest of us will try going 100 % gulten free. My son will be the toughest to convince ! Regards, Natalie
  25. Hi everyone ! I am new here and this is my first post.
