  1. We just got our Colorations Wheat-free/Gluten-free dough!! It is wonderful! It is so much like regualr playdoh! We haven't let Cooper (or any of the boys) play with playdoh the last week or so because Coop kept getting sick from it, so we banned it until the new cane and we could throw out the old. It is so reassuring to see that some companies really...
  2. Glad to see this posted!! My 4 year old has been begging me to make him cheese cake for Thanksgiving and I was wondering about the crust! Thanks for the ideas!!
  3. Marlene... I am very sorry that you are in a tough place right now! I am also sorry that you will not get to stay home. I am also a stay at homeschooling mom of 4(mine are much younger than yours). I hope that things will turn around for you with your health and healing. In the mean time..I wil be thinking of you and your family! Dallas
  4. I am wondering how you clean to make sure you are getting rid of those little crumbs and the like that like to linger around and CC things! I am worried that we just aren't being as diligent in ALOT of ways to keep things clean enough..including little hands. Any helpful advice would be appreciated!! I had a moment yesterday where I could just hear those...
  5. That is true..I just was hoping that he might let me know id he was going to look into it a little more...maybe they will it is late and it IS a complex topic!! Here's hoping!!
  6. That is SO interesting that you should post on this...my mom is in the process of being diagnosed with DI and I told her that she also needed to get the WHOLE celiac panel done regardless of that the doc thinks! Thanks for sharing your information!!

Wish I could help you more. Thanks Douglas Hackworth WOW..and it took him less than 1 minute to answer me back!!
  8. The kids LOVE them...I have had to hide them!! YEA GLUTINO!!!!
  9. Our 4 year old is our Celaic. I can tell you that our non-gluten-free 6 year old LOVES the Kinninnick "oreos" and he have definite opinions about what gluten-free stuff he likes. We love the Kinninnick brand for donuts as well...they are expensive, but who doesn't like donuts now and then. We also like the Glutino cookies. We also "make" our own pizza...
  10. I want this to be "easy" for us...I agree about not trusting anyone else to cook things...I am totally willing to do cooking for us, I am just hopeful that others will stay the heck away from Cooper's food!! I don't mean that as bad or mean as that sounds!! With that many people, it makes me very nervous! I would prefer that we just stay home...but there...
  11. What a GREAT family you must have!!
  12. axmom3... We has 2 different dxs with our 3 year old(2 1/2 at the time) of chronic diarrhea and another of chronic constipation! So for us this was normal and at the time of diagnosis, or GI said (take this for what you think it is worth) that is is not unusual for kids with celiac not to be able to empty the bowels completely, because of the damage...
  13. I know it is a little early for this but I am a control freak, so I need to start planning early!!! Our family will be at my in-laws for Thanksgiving this year. This is our first gluten-free Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving at my in-laws is a HUGE event with 50-75 people there and an amazing amount of food!!! I am not so concerned about others feeding Cooper...
  14. This is part of the reason that we homeschool our little ones...but I may be mistaken, but I do not think that homeschooling is legal in Germany. (Thanks to Hitler) I hope that you will be able to find a sympathetic ear at the school!! Can you push the school any for more help in this area...would they allow you to take her out for health reasons and...
  15. I am looking for anyone out there that might have Diabetes Insipidus. Is there a "connection" to Celiac?? Thanks in advance!!
  16. Thanks Richard! That is what I thought...BUT...I still wanted another take on it! Thanks for your help!
  17. I am just trying to verify some information...does anyone know the gluten-free status of red dye #3? I have been "told" that red dye#40 is safe but that #3 isn't. Can anyone verify this for me?? Thanks in advance.....
  18. WOW...I hadn't thought about the antibiotic thing before...but it would stand to reason that it could cause a problem!! AND the fact they they "fortify" your breastmilk in the NICU...or at least they did with ours to help with caloric intake.....hummmm...hadn't thought of that one until just now!
  19. Please hear me say that I have no idea if being a preemie is related to Celiac...I would think that is isn't necessarily if you read some of the previous posts. I was just wondering...because our Celiac was born a little early and had a life threatening condition...we should have lost him WAY before birth and his condition is considered a "mid-line" problem...
  20. Thanks to everyone who has posted...I was just curious, and wondering if being early could have anything to do with having active celiac or not.....our last baby boy was 6 weeks early and just the "normal" problems associated with being early. Thanks for sharing your stories!! I enjoy hearing how other got to this point too!!
  21. I was wondering how many here either were premature or have children who were born premature. If so...were there any other complications at birth that you think may have "triggered" the Celiac?? Our son was a preemie...3 weeks early and he was born with deuodenal atresia(which means that his intestines never opened in utero.) We took him home from the...
  22. try: allergators.com jeeto.com cafepress.com/foodallergyids cafepress has a ton...type in food allergies, or celiac hope you find something you like
  23. I am wondering how do the Italians(I think) manage to diagnose their kids with Celiac. Isn't it true that they test them all before they enter school? Do they have a better diagnostic tool than we do here in the Americas or is their diagnosis rate as "low" as ours? Do their insurance companies refuse to insure them?? Anybody??
  24. Thanks so much for your insight! We still feel so new to all this and this being our first follow up...I just assumed (duh on our part) that the doc knew what he was doing!! I will sure be glad when our GI gets back... Thanks again for taking the time to help us!!
  25. This was a follow up with his GI...well one of the drs in the office(ours is on sick leave) He has already been diagnosed at the end Dec. '05. I just thought that if we know he has celiac...then that should have been what we were checking on....I mean if a CBC and a LFT didn't show anything BEFORE he was diagnosed...why are we looking at that as a marker...
