  1. it's not so much that the studies have been disproved as there have been flaws revealed in them either due to the methodology and testing criteria used or the presentation/interpretation of the data (or a combination of both)... I haven't looked too much into these studies but have seen various info relating to flaws in the studies (I think there were 5 or...
  2. by the way, you all are out of control with the posting in this thread .. this thread alone has more replies than every other sub-forum on this board except for 3 of them... given enough time, I'm sure they'll be overtaken as well... this thread will probably keep growing too because I've seen a lot of guests viewing this thread in the past month or...
  3. I'd like a copy as well... I'll pm you my email address... I don't know either way, but I wouldn't be all that surprised if non-GMO corn was permitted to be labeled "organic" under USDA organic standards... I'd like to think that isn't the case, but I know the USDA organic standards are a lot more lax than they should be in a number of aspects....
  4. I haven't had writer's block for a while... it's more like brain block... the symptoms which I've had the most difficulty resolving and which affect me most on a daily basis are neurological and cognitive... writer's block has nothing to do with an inability to think and process information, just an inability to creatively think... my problem is simply the...
  5. just to add to what carla wrote... that's standard practice for companies in the entertainment industry... and understandably so even though it makes things more difficult for people trying to break through and get their ideas heard... if they didn't have this in place, they would be subject to getting sued on anything someone sent them that even remotely...
  6. I'm doing okay, thanks for asking... the balance symptoms I had upon starting the ABX went away after the first week... but it's been a little rough at times the past 2 weeks with headaches, getting more easily exhausted, and increased brain fog... I've stripped my diet back down to the basics for a few days, cutting out my "treat" foods like potato...
  7. I posted mine on page 977... here are my results: IGG first and IGM second 18 kDa - - 22 kDa - - **23-25 - +++ 28 kDa - - 30 kDa - - **31 kDa - ++ **34 kDa - IND **39 kDa IND IND **41 kDa +++ + 45 kDa - + 58 kDa + - 66 kDa - + 73 kDa - - **83-93 - IND
  8. I've been feeling some exhaustion, likely attributable to the ABX, the past week... I've had more trouble getting out of bed in the morning and I'm starting to think I might need to sleep an extra 20 minutes or so... I've been a little hesitant to increase the amount of time I sleep because I generally feel worse the longer I sleep (or too little sleep) but...
  9. I saw someone mention baseball, gave me a laugh... I think most of the Rachelville females would know bball is basketball though... I started playing ball again this year for the first time in 2 years and have been playing regularly for the first time in probably 4 years... wasn't sure how starting antibiotics would affect that... first week was rough but...
  10. certain insurances cover the CD57 test... it's done through Labcorp so I think all Horizon insurances will cover the test... I don't know what the out of pocket cost would be..
  11. I forgot when I replied to your last post, but I saw you mention in that reply and this one that you think mia should see an LLMD and start treating the lyme... I had thought mia was one of us taking ABX for lyme... is it just me, carla, and laura? as for this post, I agree... mia, a test result of 26 is not only way below what is typically described...
  12. rachel said most of what I would have said about the cd57 test... the paper I got from my LLMD about the test had this information: "In my experience, those who do not have Lyme, or those who are cured of their infection, typically have counts above 180. However, in the chronic Lyme patient, CD57 counts are usually well below 60." your number of...
  13. for any of you looking for chicken to try, I recommend considering Kosher chicken... Kosher meats are the only meats I eat that aren't organic as Kosher law prevents the usage of antibiotics and whatnot in the first place... my mom and my sister are Jewish and only eat Kosher meat (my sister's stricter about it as my mom will eat meat out at a restaurant...
  14. that describes me for a while now... I can't stand the heat anymore, certainly gotten worse in the past couple years... interesting about mercury vs. lyme in that regard... however, I have had Raynaud's since high school and my fingers will frequently get numb and lose their color if I don't wear gloves (even sometimes when I do) during the winter... it...
  15. not quite everyone... I've been a night owl as long as I can remember... probably the number one thing me and me ex-girlfriend argued about actually... she would fall asleep a half hour into a movie at night and then she would get frustrated after she got up early in the morning and I still wanted to sleep for a couple hours... as for how I feel in the...
  16. jenny, do you have health insurance? if you do, you should be able to do a number of tests through a standard doctor... you can have your blood tested for vitamin levels, hormone levels, serotonin, etc. as well as thyroid testing... you may find some levels that could benefit from supplementation and improve to some extent upon boosting any deficient...
  17. I think we have a skewed definition of lucky on this thread... somehow, I'm guessing most of my friends wouldn't consider being able to eat a bag of plain potato chips that lucky ... but I don't hesitate to mention I can eat the Kettle chips after I start listing the few foods I do eat and I start getting the "that's all you can eat?" look... I know...
  18. am I the only person on this thread who eats potato chips? I see chips mentioned every now and then and almost always in a negative light... my diet for the past couple months has literally been meats and veggies, with potato chips as my "cheat" food... I only eat Kettles plain chips (only ingredients are potatoes, sunflower/safflower oil, and salt) and...
  19. Jenny, Rachel pretty much summed up the thread... I wasn't one of the original posters in the thread, started posting in the thread a few months ago after some of my symptoms hadn't resolved despite being gluten-free, df, sf for over a year with a number of different diets within those parameters during that time... most of us have a number of food intolerances...
  20. happy birthday rachel! and try not to stay on your phone all night... wouldn't want to end up with a few inches of swelling above your ears on your birthday
  21. Bev, thanks for posting about the person you know who had lyme for a few years with neuro-lyme symptoms and whatnot and has gotten better... always encouraging to hear these cases...
  22. I've developed a bad short term memory over the past couple years so I've had to learn to compensate for it... my basic trick across the board is simply putting something physically where I know I will come across it and acting upon it when I come across it... there's probably a number of things you do every day in your morning routine, and you can simply...
  23. while this is completely true, I still think things could potentially get worse in at least some ways when standards are introduced in the US for gluten-free as zansu said... at least if we adopt the codex standards being used in some countries in Europe, which looks to be the way we're likely to go... while I understand that a minimum measurable amount...
  24. rachel, a few days ago I saw you asked about the correlation between the cd57 results and the severity of the lyme symptoms... I think my result of 60 is representative of how the lyme is affecting me (or at least was before I started the mino) I certainly have an active infection that I feel is strongly contributing to my neuro and visual symptoms...
  25. I've been taking some supplements regularly for a while... CoQ10 as a migraine preventative, multi-vitamin, DHEA, and probiotics, which I doubled while I was taking the mino but probably won't double at first while restarting the mino at just once a day... others I've taken at times but nothing else regularly recently.. my LLMD recommended an immune system...
