  1. I searched a little on this board and it looks like the Tylenol caplets are gluten-free, just want to confirm that... and that they're dairy free, soy free.. thanks
  2. thanks... I actually already got tested for co-infections, which came back negative... on my initial visit, I got tests drawn for co-infections through one lab, the CD57 test through Labcorp, and the Western Blots through Igenex... the LLMD I'm seeing is definitely experienced.. had her recommended to me from 2 people... as you indicated, being in NJ does...
  3. yeah, I'm relieved... I wanted the tests to come back positive, not cause I want lyme persay, but because everything seemed to be pointing me in this direction as to why a lot of my symptoms, particularly neurological, haven't resolved as well as other symptoms with everything I've done with diet and whatnot in the past year... it made sense to me that I...
  4. IGG first and IGM second 18 kDa - - 22 kDa - - **23-25 - +++ 28 kDa - - 30 kDa - - **31 kDa - ++ **34 kDa - IND **39 kDa IND IND **41 kDa +++ + 45 kDa - + 58 kDa + - 66 kDa - + 73 kDa - - **83-93 - IND
  5. well, it looks like I'm officially joining a number of you in the Lyme Club... got my test results back today and sure enough, I tested positive for one of the Western Blots (the IGM)... I tested positive by both the Igenex standards for the IGM as well as the CDC standards... I actually tested either positive or Indeterminate to every one of the 6 double...
  6. a few random things: I realized the other day that some random symptoms that I used to get are gone, at least for the time being... throughout last year as I switched my diet frequently, tried different foods, challenged foods for testing, etc. I was getting these small, annoying, sometimes painful bumps near the tip of my tongue... almost like big tastebuds...
  7. you are right, generally speaking... but as is the case with most of this stuff, it can be different from one person to the next... many people with soy allergies/intolerances are able to consume soy lecithin without adverse effects but others seem to react to it... I personally strictly avoid it for now as I seemed to react to even small amounts of...
  8. I agree with Rachel... being that you have metal of some form in your mouth, if you are tasting metal to the extent that it wakes you up and you are also having negative reactions while taking it, I would be cautious... I also don't know if it's feasible that it could be pulling any metals from the bar, but I would try to look into it... are you seeing...
  9. I got a cell phone later than most of my friends, not til I was just out of college... but since I got one, I'm not sure that I've used a regular phone (aside from work) more than a handful of times... I don't even have a house phone where I live now and probably won't get one either when I move in a few weeks... a part of me knows it's probably not...
  10. Rachel, I hope you don't take it that I'm trying to knock the LED testing or question its validity... I was just posing some questions that I had after reading about it on the one website... I try to learn as much as possible nowadays about how all these different types of testing and treatments work... but I'm not ignorant enough to think I can call into...
  11. I read the first link (the comprehensive naturopathy site)... first, I have to say I'm not that informed on exactly what homeopathy entails.. I want to learn more about it when I get a chance as the more I learn about it, the more I realize I don't know much about it.. as for this specific treatment, it seems rather abstract to me, but then again...
  12. donna, the other test for mercury that I couldn't remember is a test for at least certain types of porphyrins... I don't really know anything about the testing, just that they look for the presence of certain porphyrins... you can google porphyrins and mercury and get plenty of information.. I think UPPA (urinary porphyrin profile analysis) is the testing...
  13. the tetanus shots do have thimerosal... it's the TT (tetanus toxoid) vaccine in table 3 on this site: Open Original Shared Link unless you know otherwise about a specific vaccination, I would also assume that all adult vaccinations contain thimerosal... I'm sure some adult vaccs don't have mercury but the CDC only agreed to take the mercury out of pediatric...
  14. I went to both a LLMD and free bioset consultation last week... I got a few tests run for lyme, one for co-infections, one for the Igenex western blots, and one other test for something else relating to the immune system and lyme if I remember right... most of the testing was actually covered upfront by my insurance.. I was also given cat's claw to try...
  15. I've checked out some stuff on lymenet the past month or 2... I see what you're saying but I'm just trying to familiarize myself with lyme disease, different treatments, etc... it's funny, when I went to reply to this post, your avatar didn't have your kids, still was the same avatar you had before... I was going to mention that and when I hit reply...
  16. happy birthday carla... I was reading some lymenet posts over the weekend and read a post that reminded me of what you said regarding your lyme situation... saw the name was sixgoofykids and the location was ohio so I'm assuming that's you, right?
  17. my diet changes every couple months... as of now, I'm on a diet where I've eliminated all of the foods you listed and pretty much just eat meats and veggies... I've managed to stabilize my weight while being on this diet for about 3 months now although I eat quite a lot during the day (6-7 meals per day).. I guess there are a number of questions to ask...
  18. I agree with carla... I don't think the test will be beneficial for you... many of us who choose to test with Enterolab were either gluten-free prior to blood work or never had positive blood work... that in itself will probably hold as much weight, if not more, than any Enterolab testing for most GI doctors... I think if you pursued some different GI doctors...
  19. I didn't actually know it was the highest rate ever documented for a state... just knew it was the highest rate of the 14 states in the recent study released... but I'm curious how high it would rank compared to the other 49 states had the study encompassed the whole country... any data I've seen which references all 50 states hasn't had NJ quite that high...
  20. a urine mercury test would only be a good test if there was an acute case of poisoning or I suppose if the chronic exposure was high enough and consistent enough (though I'm not sure this would really be possible to go on in a person's body for a significant duration of time without causing ridiculously negative effects as well)... either way, I don't...
  21. NJ doesn't actually have the highest rate of autism, just the highest from that 14 state study... I want to say that Oregon and Massachusetts were 2 of the states right at the top from a 2003 compilation of data using data from the Fighting Autism website... this is all speculative of course, but I don't think the reason the rates are lower in...
  22. I plan to get the lyme test done on Tuesday... I have the kit from Igenex and have an appt scheduled with a LLMD that was recommended to me from a couple people... I'm assuming I'll get the blood drawn that day and then get the results within 2-3 weeks... I'm still up in the air on where I stand if I do test positive... I don't want to go on antibiotics...
  23. I think this is now the 3rd medication my sister has been on long-term that has been pulled off the market... I think I remember somebody posting on this board about others using zelnorm a few weeks ago in relation to some health issues they had... can't remember exactly what the post was about, whether it was about heart or chest pain or not...
  24. I have also become very interested in autism over the past year as the more I have learned about my situation and what's going on with my body, the more I have come across autism as a result.... from the Gluten-free Casein-free diet to candida to leaky gut and multiple food sensititivities, autism pops up everywhere... when I was trying to order the 1...
  25. as a sidenote (well, I guess technically everything's a sidenote in this thread since it started off discussing corn), there's an additional form of mercury testing I learned about the other day that I wasn't familiar with... I contacted a practice by me that does mercury testing and detoxification (almost exclusively for autistic kids) and they told me they...
