  1. This restaurant advertises it has celiac friendly options so we decided to check it out... I highly recommend it and it was so awesome not having to ask for a separate menu or to explain in detail what celiac was. There were little symbols designating gluten free, vegan, vegetarian. The food was excellent and you can log on to "the river 93.9" and order...
  2. Hi my sister has been really suffering with this problem too, although she's been gluten free for 2 years now. She jokes that she looks pregnant! She's started drinking green tea, one of her friends suggested it, and it's definitely helped. I figure it's worth a try. Good luck!
  3. I've tried a bunch of the gluten free pantry stuff - the brownies are amazing, the pie crust is great but a little crumbly, but who cares? The ginger spice cake is awesome, I added shredded carrots, and walnuts and frosted it with cream cheese frosting. I also made chocolate chip muffins with the muffin mix and they were awesome too! Its a great line of...
  4. They kept telling me to take fiber and freaking metamucil too!!! My c was soooo awful and my stomach was bloated and distended and my doctor just kept telling me it was IBS and it took months and me finally bawling hysterically to get a referral to a specialist. Celiacs have different symptoms and doctors need to be aware of that! Demand that your doctor...

  9. Hi I live in Holyoke and go to school in Northampton. There's plenty of gluten free stuff around here. Lots of restaurants are pretty informed about celiac and gluten free. There is a natural food store called cornucopia right in downtown Noho but it's sort of pricey but there's Whole foods and trader joe's real close in Amherst. Let me know what other...
  10. I have had several UTI's and yeast infections and now my new doctor who is trained in both Western and Eastern medicine is suggesting its "candidas" possibly systemic. I've been reading about it a lot and that would make sense - does anyone else know much about this?
  11. I AM SOOOOOO DEPRESSED!!! I WAS SURE I COULD EAT THOSE - I EVEN TOLD MY SISTER SHE COULD EAT THEM.... SHE'S GONNA BE SO PISSED WHEN I TELL HER----AUGH! HOW ANNOYING! THANKS FOR THE INFO THOUGH.
  12. My sister was diagnosed as gluten intolerant about two years ago and her symptoms were so different than mine that I never even thought to check that out until a year later. However, her symptoms were awful - she had arthritis in her hands so bad she would cry and she was always in pain, at 24 she had already developed osteoporosis - sorry I can't spell...

  14. Hi, I wish I knew more about the particular area, my family lives in the city of Rochester, but if you get a chance to get more into the city you should sooooo go to Mario via Abruzzi's - they have a website -- but it is amazing food ---- the best gluten free pasta dinner I've ever had! 16. My fiance went to Canada a few weeks and got me La Messagere- it's excellent and he likes it too, although at $13 dollars a six pack he is not allowed to drink it. I highly recommend it. The stores that I called around western mass and western ny said Bards Tale was exploding, etc. but that it was very popular and they were all hoping to get more! I found...
  17. Hi I know this is a topic somewhere on the message boards but i couldn't find it. I'm not sure if this is a repeat question or not, but I was reading here about people being able to go off some of their meds since being gluten free. I'm almost at one year of gluten-free so I thought I should try to lessen my dose of paxil - I have gone about a week of decreasing...
