  1. I too had one done. I was nervous before hand but it was fine. I never knew when it was gone. It was really helpful to the docs.
  2. I used to get laughed at because I could eat something and 10-15 minutes later my stomach would be "growling" so loud everyone around me would turn and look. NOW I know it must have been gluten.
  3. That sounds like the ones I made but I added freash garlic and basil. I love potatoes. (Thank goodness)
  4. Thank you so much for all the help. I am so glad I have someone(s) who can answer my questions.
  5. Being new I do not know what the difference between celiac and celiac sprue is, can someone tell me? My dr. said I tested positive for celiac sprue. Thanks
  6. I called my Dr. this a.m. to ask about Allegra and Singulair and he said go ahead. Does anyone take these?
  7. I was on predinsone for a week and gained about 5 lbs. But when my younger brother came home from a 15 month tour in Iraq he became very sick and ended up on a ventilator. He made it through, thank God, but was put on a high dose of pred. for a year. He put on almost 90 pounds. He has since been weaned off of it but still has to loose about 30 pounds...
  8. Of all the things I've given up the last 4 weeks, Monday will be a month, the one thing I miss the most is pizza. It doesn't help my neice who lives with me works in a...you guessed it... a pizza parlor. But I am so thankful to them because they are actually looking for ways to make me my favorite type of pizza. I miss it but I feel better so that is more...
  9. Being new to all of this I had no idea about cc but it explains so much. I have tried so hard the last three weeks and every once in awhile have a reaction when I know it wasn't me. Also I had no idea that insomnia could be caused by this. No one has been able to tell me why I can't sleep. Thanks so much. This site is so wonderful when you have no clue...
  10. Our favorite way is to place the chops in a baking dish, pour a large can of frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed over them, place apple slices over them and bake 30-35 minutes.
  11. Again it is so good to know that I am "normal" when it comes to celiac. Since I have only been on this diet for two weeks I have to keep a daily journal of everything I eat, my BM's and my weight. I can weigh one thing when I get up at 6 a.m and by 8 pm weigh 5 pounds more. Even though I am eating less than ever. It doesn't make alot of sense.
  12. My husband and I went to a convention in another part of our state this weekend and ate lunch today at our favorite Outback( even before I knew they had glutten free food). I asked for a gluten-free menu and our waitress was wonderful. She herself has celiac and asked about how severe I was and told me she would do whatever she could to make sure my dinner...
  13. Every time I come here I am amazed at the similarities. I have been hypo for years. I used to freak out the RN's at the place I used to work when I would check my sugar level and it would be in the thirties or fourties. It is better now that I eat regularly. I an only two weeks into the celiac diet but I usually have a banana for breakfast, a salad for...
  14. I love my 3 kids although they have all moved away I still talk to them at least twice a day---each. I love my "Other" 4 kids who shared my home with me over the last twenty years and that I still see or hear from daily. I love the kids who call me "Aunt Jenny" even though we share no blood. I love my 13 year old cat Berkley. I love the way he purrs...
