ARCHIVED Annie's Naturals Salad Dressing
GravStars replied to GravStars's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Cool, thanks. I wish they made their Goddess Dressing gluten-free (contains wheat-based tamari I think), because that is absolutely the best salad dressing I've ever had. -
ARCHIVED Annie's Naturals Salad Dressing
GravStars posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Annie's Naturals makes both gluten and gluten-free salad dressings. I have the "Organic Green Garlic Dressing". It says gluten-free on the back. I've only been gluten-free for a few days, just wondering if anyone knows about or has had CC issues with the gluten-free brands. I wanna make sure I've got everything covered... -

ARCHIVED Enterolabs Test Accurate While gluten-free?
GravStars posted a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I was wondering how Enterolabs stool testing can be accurate up to 6 months or more on a gluten-free diet, while the standard diagnostic blood tests are not? Do I have this right? -
got it... i was at personal picture instead. thanks

ARCHIVED Rollercoaster.....
GravStars replied to Smunkeemom's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
i don't know, but it seems that some people go back and forth for a while after going gluten-free, maybe its just part of the healing? i'm on day 3 (i messed up before) and i don't feel any better, but then again i don't know if this is what's wrong with me. i almost hope it is, if that means feeling well again. blah -
I was going to add a nice picture to distinguish my online appearance a bit from the dull, pictureless tedium of grey/no avatar, and it said: "Sorry, the board administrator has not enabled your permissions for this part of the control panel." Am I not special enough yet?

ARCHIVED Fake Paper Cuts
GravStars replied to Lister's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I read that in a Canadian study of 500 different vitamin brands - determining how much of each was absorbed - Centrum scored 7%, so 93% of Centrum passes right through the system. As far as I know the best vitamins are the more expensive ones from health food stores. I've been using Solgar, which is around 9 or 10 bucks for a 30 day supply, and most others... -
ARCHIVED Some Symptoms Diseapering
GravStars replied to Lister's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
hmm, i just tried the spit test (even though i didn't just wake up) and almost right away there are mucousy strings floating around in the water and its turned cloudy. my symptoms seems to match up more with gluten intolerance than candida though, but maybe i should looks into this. -

ARCHIVED Are Essential Oils Glutenfree?
GravStars replied to SColor's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
true essential oils are either distilled (using steam in a vat) or expressed (squeezed, cold-pressed). cheaper, inferior oils ("fragrance oils", not 100% pure essential oils) might involve solvents, though i don't know if they'd be gluten-based. i'm not an expert, i just got this from an aromatherapy book. so i would think pure essential oils would be gluten... -
haha. seriously, i don't understand someone who would intentionally feed you something that makes you sick for your going away party. that makes absolutely no sense and seems kinda sick. you could always bring a box of ex-lax and give it to her, explaining that if you're going to eat the food she brought that she knows will make you sick, she should...

After hearing Quaker rice cakes could be CC, I bought some Lundberg Rice Cakes the other day - they say gluten-free right on the package - and they taste great, much better than Quaker.

ARCHIVED Looking For gluten-free, Cf, Egg Free Cheese
GravStars replied to TCA's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I used to eat this Gluten-Free Mac & Chreese I'd get from Earth Fare - I wasn't even gluten-free at the time, I just liked it. I think it was called End of the Road or Road's End or something with Road. As for Vegan Cheese, like someone else said if it says VEGAN then there's no casein, lactose or anything animal. Some of those Soy and Rice cheeses... -
ARCHIVED Enjoy Life
GravStars replied to Lister's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I have tried several of the Food For Life Breads, and while the Brown Rice is good, I have to say the Millet Bread is the best of them I've had. Just add some butter/butter substitute and honey, and yum. -
maybe you should just explain it to them, then it wouldn't seem rude unless you just don't want to. you could always keep it simple and just say you have food allergies and you get sick whenever you eat out. i have assertiveness issues too, but i try to be straight up, even if people think i'm weird (and i am, so its cool).

CVS Pharmacy Ibuprofren.... I don't see any gluten-sounding ingredients. The starch is corn starch. But I'm not totally sure what some of these things are (stearic acid?). Is Ibuprofren generally safe, or does it depend on the brand?

ARCHIVED Bob's Red Mill... Cross Contaminated?
GravStars posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I read on another post that suggested someone was getting glutened from Bob's Red Mill gluten-free mixes... anyone else have this problem? I am trying the diet to see how my symptoms respond, wondering if I should avoid Bob's stuff. I have some of his gluten-free Hot Cereal here. To eat, or not to eat, that is the question...? -

ARCHIVED gluten-free Foods/products List(s)
GravStars replied to GravStars's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
