  1. OK, maybe there is a list somewhere on this site, but I haven't seen it, and my head spins from reading too much sometimes. Right now I have no money to purchase lists/books with lists, so I'd appreciate any links to free lists of gluten-free products. Thanks!
  2. Spice World Minced Garlic (comes in a plastic jar) - garlic, water, phosphoric acid. No gluten ingredients but wondering if its known to be CC?
  3. i have a lot of trouble with anxiety. although i've only had one acute panic attack (i thought i was dying and/or going crazy), i've dealt with generalized chronic anxiety for 10 years. although i've always been shy. i'm undiagnosed gluten-intolerance/celiac and have no medical insurance so i am giving the gluten-free diet a try. with my other symptoms i...
  4. i used to smoke every day, years ago. it made my anxiety worse, so i'd say yes it could be an effect of the green. if i smoke or drink now, i feel like crap. especially if i drink. pot just magnifies my anxiety. although last time i did some it was also easier to control the anxiety. weirdly contradictory. but i avoid intoxicating substances now. i don't...
  5. hi. tai chi is pretty hard to learn well from a videotape or book. a teacher is really the only way to go. i took a tai chi/qigong class for a short while. i got into qigong a few years back and hope to get back to a class soon. it's much easier to learn qigong from a video than tai chi's more complex forms. some good videos: A.M. CHI FOR BEGINNERS Open...
  6. i'm undiagnosed but suspicious too and just put myself on the gluten-free diet. i have many of the same problems - persistent bloating, underweight (130, 5'11", 30 yrs old) - unfortunately i cna't pass it off as being pregnant. i have read a lot on celiac and apparently symptoms can be all over the map, or none at all, so i'd say yes yours could be celiac...
  7. i've read that lipton soup mix box and i wouldn't eat it based on the ingredients, problem with gluten or not. lots of controversy over msg. i don't think its safe for anyone
  8. y/w and in yoga, it shouldn't matter how far you can stretch, just that you stretch as far as you can, and relax into it take care
  9. lister, a lot of what you're experiencing is simply anxiety. i am undiagnosed celiac/gluten-intolerant but my symptoms fit so i am trying the G.F. diet. but i have dealt with anxiety and all its related symptoms for a long time - 10+ yrs and it has made me extremely dysfunctional. anxiety CAN be caused by gluten, but it could just simply be anxiety too. the...
  10. just curious, how long into the gluten-free diet before you started to feel better, was it gradual or more immediate and obvious improvement?
  11. it COULD be anxiety/worry/panic. i have a thing sometimes, not so much gasping for air, as a quick inhalation that jerks me awake, right as i'm about to drift off. but if it's sleep apnea, that would be different i think (not sure what apnea is caused by). consciously relaxing and breathing with your abdomen (deep belly breaths) before falling asleep might...
  12. i know you're freaking out about everything, understandably, and whenever i get too anxious about my various problems i have to remind myself to take it one step at a time... you got the celiac blood test, so now all you have to do is wait for the results, and based on that, take the next step.
  13. that's my understanding too. but my reflux is odd, i get a burp-like regurgitation of food into my throat sometimes, but i never get heartburn or pain in my stomach or esophagus, althougth sometimes acidic food bothers my stomach. and i never taste acid in my mouth, but maybe i wouldn't have to for it to be there. the tooth transparency thing is obnoxious...
  14. i'm new here too. when you create a post, there are "Post Options" below the type box - the one that says "Enable email notification of replies?" that's the ticket
  15. there's another product called "Earth Balance" - its like Smart Balance, but it tastes a lot better and melts and spreads easier - its Gluten-Free and Non-Dairy/Lactose-Free/100% vegan (says all this on the tub), non-gmo, non-hydrogenated oil, no artificial ingredients. it might be a little harder to find but they sell it in the Natural Foods section of some...
  16. you tested positive for a wheat intolerance, but negative for celiac? so wouldn't that mean all gluten isn't a problem, just wheat, so you definitely at the least shouldn't be eating wheat, right?
  17. ok, about 6 years ago I noticed that my front teeth, starting at the tips, were becoming transparent, like the white thickness is disappearing leaving a thin transparent effect. like you can see the white pulpy part, but like its receding from the tips almost (?). and all my teeth feel kind of unusually sharp and craggy, so maybe erosion is happening all...
  18. does anyone know if Mother's Natural Caramel Rice & Popped Corn Cakes are gluten-free? the ingredients are: brown rice, corn (with germ removed), honey, molasses and natural flavoring. i'm wondering about the natural flavoring. i believe they are made by Quaker, which also makes me suspicious about oat CC. also, anyone know if Arm & Hammer Baking...
  19. hi just the other day while doing some celiac/gluten research online i stumbled across another forum (on another website) where a mother said her child was tested through enterolabs and it came back "normal". unfortunately i don't remember the forum or which test was done. i understand skepticism about enterolabs for the same reason but consider it a good...
  20. i am seriously considering going gluten-free for about a month but i keep making excuses to myself, like "nah, i don't have it, it's just anxiety and reflux and ibs and so on". but i take it seriously in that i definitely want to find out. it just seems to make sense and add up in so many ways. my diet is mostly gluten-free (& healthy) anyway so it wouldn...
  21. I'm curious as to how many of you with celiac or gluten intolerance had chronic anxiety as a major symptom. And also, was the anxiety noticeable right after consuming gluten -- or was it just generally there most of the time. My anxiety is almost always present to varying degrees, but I haven't noticed it responding immediately to what I eat. Thanks!
  22. Hi everyone, I just joined up here and thought I'd tell a little about my situation and get some feedback. I have not been diagnosed with Celiac or Gluten-Intolerance but I seriously wonder sometimes if this could be the problem with me. To begin with, when I was a child (I am told) I had some chronic diarrhea or something along those lines and my parents...
