ARCHIVED Exercise & Losing Weight
Warrior Woman replied to Turtle's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
The whole 'walking burns more fat' thing is a game of numbers. When you calculate out the percentage and actually calroies burned, it is a different story. the higher the heart rate, the more actually calories and fat calories you burn. The body does burn a higher percentage of calories from fat when involved in lower intensity cardio exercise. BUT... -
Being a celiac and eating gluten-free isnt the only 'diet' that shuns grains. Paloe Ciet, Atkins, Low Carb. There are a lot of people out there that think grains should not be eaten. There is research out there that says health and height was affected once humans started haversting grains. The world in general would be better off laying off of the grains...

ARCHIVED Has Anyone Tried A Colon Cleanse Product ?
Warrior Woman replied to marciab's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
the colon cleanse is a load of crap! There is nothing stuck to your colon. there is nothing to get rid of that a good dump wont take care of. It really is a waste of money and for some dangerous. None of those things are tested or have a peer review to qualify them. Not only that, you can bet if there was really something stuck to your colon or any... -
ARCHIVED Anyone Want To Throw In The Towel?
Warrior Woman replied to NiqueP's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
You dont mention what it is your eating or what your workout is. Are you eating too many carbs? Are you eating enough lean protein? Are you getting enough good fat to feel full? Are you getting enough nutrients? How much fruit and veggies are you eating? Are you taking a multi vitamin? Just because you are eating gluten-free doesnt mean it is healthy... -

What does non-celiac gluten sensitivity mean? How is it different from celiac? I am confused and need to know TIA Lorraine

I dont understand the NEED to meet with the doctor that runs the lab. I have never met any doctor in charge of the labs. I dont see how this makes a difference. The doctor's office has a contract with a lab and that is where it goes. Or you go to one of the lab's offices and they do the tests themselves. I just dont see the need to meet the doctor. And...

I was wondering something about teeth. One of my pointy teeth has always felt pourusbut since going gluten-free, I noticed that it appears to be getting smooth like the other teeth. Could this be because I can once again absorb calcium? Or could this be because I am out of my mind? TIA Lorraine

ARCHIVED Ibs Leads To Other Diseases....
Warrior Woman replied to danikali's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I HATE doctors and doubt if I would help them if they ran by on fire! I just got my blood tests back and they are negative. The blood test I FORCED him to do- rat bastard (RB) This was the thrid doctor I saw over this. #1 RB said I should eat more fiber w/o asking how much I already eat which is a lot. #2 RB took a biopsy w/o blood test so I stopped... -
What is disturbing is the fact that the doctors do NOT have to report the statistic for the outcomes or results. Are people losing weight? Well yeah- you cant eat anything!! Are people healthy? No one can anser that honestly. They can say X number of people went from being morbidly obese to normal weight so therefore, all those risks involving obesity is...

It may appear that it is unfair and sucks- well it does suck but there isnt anything that is going to change the facts at this point. But dont thnk just because you have celiac life is over. Just dont eat gluten- and things remain the same or get better. You may have symptoms that you didnt realize were symptoms (You didnt say why they did a blood test...

ARCHIVED I Am Not Sure If I Can Explain This
Warrior Woman replied to Warrior Woman's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
thanks fo rthe replys- I cant say that there are noises, but more of a movement inside of me, like carrying a child or alien ready to pop out (Although this one didnt come over the border) There isnt pain per say except that it is uncomfortable sometimes really uncomfortable And the last time I was gluten-free and went thru this, I went to yoga and... -
ARCHIVED I Am Not Sure If I Can Explain This
Warrior Woman posted a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I have been gluten-free for three days. During the 'diagnoses' phases I went gluten-free for two weeks and had the same thing happen to me. This is going to sound weird- It feels like something is moving inside of me- as if I was with child (I was once but not now that is why I compare it to that) but the movement feelings are higher, were the rib cage... -
The parent company of the cookking magazines like Cooking Light has a website: Open Original Shared Link The search engine allows you to search on gluten free- and there are over 400 recipes! ARCHIVED I'm Running Out Of Thing To Eat : /
Warrior Woman replied to klemmen's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hi Check out Dr Fuhrman's Eat to Live book- his way of eating is basically fruits, veggies, nuts and beans. He is pretty down on grains but thinks a few times a week is OK if you want to. His book has some recipes as well. You can also have a phone consult w/ him. I havent yet as I wanted to get all my testing done. He also has a website but most of the... -
It is amazing how much they DONT know!! This last doctor was nice enough, but DUDE!! WHY DO I KNOW MORE THAN YOU ABOUT CELIAC?!?!? GOD, FLIPPIN IDIOT (said with the Napolean Dynamite tone) This is my second day being gluten-free and started feeling better last night. This morning I woke up w/o the usual stomach pains/nausea. And that is good enough...

Thanks to all for the words of kindness and support- I too have a daughter and am worried that I could have passed it on to her. I also have siblings and am worried my niece may have it. Because it is genetic, I wanted a final, authorative test I could bring to my family to force them to test as well. But in reality, I dont think that would do anything...

I went to my thrid gastro doctor yesterday and I am done. The fisrt doctor decided I was not eating enough fiber, gave me a paper with a list of foods that are high finer. He never asked how much I ate- which is a lot. I left w/o making another appointment The second doctor set me up to get scoped immediately. While I was waking up, he told me he took...

ARCHIVED Breakfast, gluten-free, Low Carb, High Protein, Ideas Needed
Warrior Woman replied to VydorScope's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
If you can do the eggs- this is what I do EVERY morning: 1) in a glass bowl (about 2 cup size) I pour in frozen corn, peas, broccoli, asparagus and spinach (yeah all of them!) and microwave it for two minutes to heat it up. If you try and cook the egg w/ the frozen veggies, there can be issues like the egg not cooking all the way in some spots. And if... -
ARCHIVED I Want To Stop Gaining Weight
Warrior Woman replied to jaimi alderson's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I am still waitng to be confirmed with or without celiac- I am on my third gastro-doctor. But after my biopsies, the idiot (aka 2nd doctor) told me he was checking for celiac. I never thought that a possiblity. So when I checked into it- I thought 'yeah, this must be it- the reason for all this illness'. For two weeks I stopped eating gluten. In those...
