ARCHIVED Anyone Know What This Could Be?
indyceliac replied to Phila's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Pancreas. It can cause ALL those symptoms. Especially the itching..which gallbladder does not. Other tests u can get are an MRI, or CT scan. Theres even a more specific test where they inject dye and can look for blockages in the bile ducts...i forget what its called. But u should definitely pursue it. Drs will send u home if you aren't deathly ill... -

indyceliac replied to Alicia M's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Isnt this interesting. I was going to post about this but figured it was just me. Ive always had a problem with dehydration also. Cant tell u how many times I had to go to the hospital when I was pregnant because of dehydration-which would induce contractions. Still, no matter how much i drink (and i really hate water..but force myself).., I still tend... -
Polenta is a great way to use cornmeal and can be served in many different ways. Its basically cornmeal mush. When i was a child we would eat it instead of pasta...with sauce and parmesan cheese on top. Delicious! You can also pour the leftovers into a baking dish let it harden , cut into slices and pan fry..and make another meal out of it the next day...

ARCHIVED What's Your Blood Type?
indyceliac replied to barilla's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I am B+. The most common blood type is O, followed by A, B then AB. Positive being more common than Neg. So if most celiacs are O, its probably only because O is the most common blood type. -
ARCHIVED Answer To Inquiry From Enterolab
indyceliac replied to Ursa Major's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hi Ursula, I dont know about Enterolab...but about the blood tests...mine came back negative also..but my biopsy was positive. I think its 20% of us test negative from the blood work. So tell her it still doesnt rule out Celiac! -
ARCHIVED New With Questions Not Diagnosed Yet
indyceliac replied to a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
You should get tested then go on a strict gluten-free diet...dont bother to wait for results. And yes, its perfectly safe during pregnancy...but consult a nutritionist if you need to..to make sure you are getting the proper nutrients. Ive been overweight all my life and have always had symptoms....drs didnt want to test me..you have to insist on it sometimes... -

ARCHIVED Should I Be Tested For Celiac's?
indyceliac replied to eden-arteaga's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
MY GI had refused to test me also, because I was overweight....so eventually i found another GI and insisted on getting tested -they had to do another endoscopy anyway..it came back positive and validated everything I had suspected. I think its preferable to have a positive diagnosis, IF you can get it....just for your own mental sake...but not necessary... -

ARCHIVED Going Numb/tingles
indyceliac replied to Lister's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I used to get tingly feeling in my arms and legs...and then i started taking sublingual b-12 pills and it went away the next day. But also, anxiety can definitely cause what you are describing. Try not to worry over every symptom and being overly aware of what your body is feeling....it just makes it worse. -
ARCHIVED High Blood Pressure After Starting The gluten-free Diet?
indyceliac replied to cebarnes's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
my bp actually went up at first also...but i think it was because I was eating a lot of processed gluten-free foods and sugary/salty crap to make up for feeling deprived. But I got over that...more fresh fruits and veggies and lean meats...bp back down. -

ARCHIVED Gastroparesis After Diagnosis With Celiac Disease?
indyceliac replied to cspafford's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
What is your diet like now? I would stick to a very bland limited diet. Have you had an xray of the small intestine to make sure there isnt blockage or inflammation which is causing the symptoms of gastroparesis. Having constant nausea is horrible...I hope u find a treatment that works soon! Good luck. -
Does anyone else have very sensitive skin? My blood tests were negative....but the intestinal biopsy was positive. My kids do better gluten free so they will stay that way..regardless of any tests. Follow your insticts. Remember doctors are only "practicing medicine". -
hypothyroid here too..took going to the endocrinologist to get a correct diagnosis. GPs are useless. I take synthroid.
