  1. Hi Barilla I am interested to hear responses to this as well. I've been dx with Raynaud's so I get cold waaay too easily and my body then over reacts. ok, I am about to get very convoluted: I found out about Raynaud's and went to the Dr. to ask about it. I learned that Raynaud's can be related to Lupus so I had to be tested for that. The Dr. gave...
  2. I like your avatar moongirl!
  3. Oh boy! there is a lot of good vegan junk! There are Tings (like vegan cheetos, my omni husbands is very fond of them, you dont have to be veg to like them). Have you heard of Soy Delicious? That's a really good replacement for ice cream (for people who are able to eat soy of course). I am not sure if it is gluten-free; I have not checked yet, some...
  4. Neat! Thanks for the heads up. I am pretty much booked all June, but I would love to be in the loop just in case I can go. Go Central MA!
  5. these are 2 of my favs: Sit on your knees with the ball in front of you. Make a fist and put your fist on top of the ball. Now roll the ball out and take your body with it, you want to end up with your elbows on the ball and your body straight and long from your knees to your head. Hold for 10 seconds (or work up to holding for 10 seconds) Then bend...
  6. I am vegan, too and do not plan on adding cheese or meat to my soon to be gluten-free diet. No way! I feel so much better all around since becoming vegan. You are super smart to realize eating the same thing everyday will not a healty vegetarian make. Experiment. Just think of all the things you CAN have. ANY vegetable, soy, tofu, rice , rice pasta, quinoa...
  7. mmmm. . .lara bars are divine! I just found some dehydrated food packs for a trip this weekend. I picked up a beans and rice pack and a bean hummus pack so far. The packs are good and really lightweight if you are going to be lugging stuff around and want food quickly. Quinoa packets might be good to bring, too, kind of like instant oatmeal packs. You could...
  8. no way. . .I have been able to predict the weather since I can remember. I used to crawl into my mom's bed in the middle of the night and ask her to rub my foot/knee/leg. I was told it was growing pains. I've stopped growing and it keeps happening! On one hand it's nice since I know when to bring a jacket, it is also handy to know I am not such a nutcase...
  9. SO TRUE!
  10. I am so glad I found you all before I have to start on the diet. I will know to avoid what I proably would have picked up. I would have eaten the Quaker cakes. Thank you!
  11. You all rock. I can honestly say I am less nervous from hearing all of your positive experiences. I trust people who have gone through it more than the docs who perform it. thank you!
  12. Hi everyone, I am a newbie here and in MA. Live near worcester, work closer to Boston.
  13. Thank you very much for the reassurance and welcome. Good. I don't want to remember swallowing a tube. I am pretty sure I'll have something interesting to yell at the doctors, I dont trust myself to be sedated I shall appologize in advance. How big around is the tube? The size of a drinking straw, a pixie stick. . .? As far as the DH, the GI...
  14. I am new to this forum as of today and I am going in for an endoscopy/biopsy this Thursday. Please share your experieinces. I don't know what to expect and I am so paranoid of needles/medical procedures. I had my first IV ever (I'm almost 28) when I was in the ER treated for dehyration many weeks ago (and therefore got checked out for celiac disease after...
  15. I am vegan, have been since 1.1.06. Before that I ate fish and otherwise was ovo-lacto veg. I agree with Shai. You can eat junk and be vegan and be VERY unhealthy or you can have a balanced diet and be super super healthy. I have seen a lot of my sinus troubles disappear as well as less tummy toubles thanks to veganism. I feel really good actually. . .(in...
  16. I've seen a lot of marmallows with modified food starch in them. I would avoid them eating out unless you can see the ingredients. Sorry you felt yucky!
