  1. Happy to help, so glad you can eat at Bertucci
  2. Hi Gemini, That's really good news! Great to hear you are enjoying the gluten-free carry out! Yum! Which ones do you frequent? I'd love to pass on the compliments if you don't mind. Jen
  3. Hey there Brett31em That's gross if you were served and ate regular pasta. Very scary. And good luck figuring out once and for all if you have celiac or not. I'm near Framingham, too, and there are a number of restaurants that I think would do a much better job. I work at the Bertucci's headquarters and there's one right on Rt9 in Framingham. We have...
  4. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  5. I just had my baby boy 3 weeks ago. The hospital was awesome and didn't kill me. I planned on alternative food sources and people bringing me food, but we didn't need it. They had gluten-free bread. I was nervous because it was toasted and asked if it was toasted in the regular toaster, they checked and said it was done separately. I'm vegan, too, and I had...
  6. Also. . congrats on your pregnancy! I am 19 weeks now and certainly had constipation in the beginning. Eat prunes or drink prune juice. It helped me out a bit and then the problem resolved in time.
  7. I agree, smells very much like spam. It's a first post. With that said, flax seed (as with everything. . .in moderation) should be perfectly fine and even beneficial for you and your baby. Here's an article stating things with omega-3's are great. Open Original Shared Link
  8. My dietitian gave me a sample of cereal called "Perky O's". Not too shabby! There are plain, apple/cinnamon, and frosted flavors. She also said don't try oats while pregnant (I'm 15 wks). Bob's Red Mill claims to have gluten-free oats, so I asked about those and she recommended waiting until after giving birth. Millet and quinoa with apple/cinnamon...
  9. My dietitian told me to look out for seasoned rice. It contains a vinegar that is not gluten free. Enjoy your trip!!! I would love to go to Japan!
  10. Babycakes on Broome Street has is a wheat free bakery. Lots of stuff is gluten free, some stuff has spelt flower so just be aware of what you order. And. .yes, it's Kosher.
  11. I am a fan of the "Rainbow Light Prenatal One" vitamin. Congrats!
  12. Hi Deergirl and all! Thank you so much for the links and I hope everyone dealing with low D levels starts absorbing soon! I will read all the info on the links soon. Also, just went to the Dr and asked about the D levels having to do with fertility problems. She said D only had to do with bones. I spent most of my life dealing with Dr.s who are not always...
  13. I like Rainbow Light's "Prenatal One": Open Original Shared Link Looks like a very safe dose of Vit A and they guarantee that they're gluten free Oh and you can get a good price for these at Target, and every once in a while Whole Foods has them on sale.
  14. I am excited to try the Oxford Spa! Also. . .Wagamama has a celiac friendly option that are very delicious. One in Gov't Center and Harvard Square. Open Original Shared Link J
  15. Well, I must be unusual. Had some blood work done and found out I have very low vit D. It has been just a a bit over a year since finding out I have celiac disease and going gluten-free. Probably still malabsorption. I have even been taking calcium that has built-in Vit D. Now I am taking additional supplements per doctor's orders. The low vit D is the...
  16. Just wondering if a Vit. D level can cause a miscarriage. I know vit D has to do with calcium absorption but that's about all. J
  17. Look for "wheat free tamari" sauces too. Tastes great. I pack a tiny nalgene bottle of it when going out for sushi.
  18. Here's an awesome blog that shows photos and recipes of her kid's lunches, packed in something that looks like the laptop lunches system. I am so jealous. Open Original Shared Link
  19. oops. . .sorry. I repeated myself, I should have checked the links the previous posted copied!
  20. There are a couple restaurants in Bar Harbor that I LOVE! 1. Havana is a Cuban restaurant. . .VERY YUMMY. Speak to someone before you go or even just when you get there. Never had a bad meal and the bartender makes the most delicious mojitos. 2. Eden cafe is also delicious and very accommodating. The above places are only open for dinner. Grab...
  21. Don't get the fries!!!! (Sorry this is an old thread, I am catching up) There is a KnowFat very close to our place. I went there very hopeful I could eat fries. I know they are not fried with other items. Heck they are not even technically fried, but I do remember them being SO good. I asked the very nice worker to please get the ingredients of the...
  22. SWEET. I heard about this from a buddy. Plan on trying it out on Cinco de Mayo.
  23. If you visit Bar Harbor. . .go to Eden Cafe and Havana. YUM!!! I think both are only open for dinner. They both change their menus often. I have gone to both places without calling first and both were VERY accommodating and delicious!
