  1. Ugh....This was one of the longest weeks I've had in some time...and I need to blow off some steam! My parents were here since Wednesday. They come to see their grand-daughter and it was also her b-day this weekend to boot (today actually....4 years old already.) **The whole time, the whole house was gluten-free. My parents are going that way as...
  2. Okay. My poor dog is sensitive to certain things in food. Imagine my surprise when we found a dog food labeled as gluten-free. Thought we'd give it a try. Upon reading the ingredient list I find BARLEY!!!! We e-mailed the company, and this is the chain of conversation that followed: Us: Just wondering how you can claim that the dry dog foods...
  3. As monarch...should you not be using the Royal We? "We must attempt to punch things up?" Just asking... It has finally stopped raining here, but it is so foggy this morning that I can barely see across the back alley. Well, I suppose I should get off my backside and get going...have to go buy someone her first bike. (I can't believe my dd turns...
  4. I have been since the very first episode. They film it it in a town not too far from here, and we drove down to see the set. It was very cool. I think this show is so phunnie becasue it SO true to life not only here in SK but in most of small town anywhere. Busy week, and I just got caught up and am glad to know that 0% is a good thing
  5. Perhaps he should just go out and buy a sports car like every other guy who's trying to compensate for something. It's bad enough that we all get this garbage in our emails. Well, g'night sillies.
  6. Amanda, Thank God you guys are okay. I can understand the shaky nerves after that though. Hope you managed to get some sleep after all that. So this week, I am so mad at my neighbor I could spit. Since the beginning of spring, he has had a robin's next above the light fixture near the back door to his house. We have enjoyed watching the birds...
  7. I have the same problem. As soon as I get some gluten in my system, we can tell right away. It's almost like most of my higher reasoning is switched off. Drives my wife crazy, but we get through.
  8. Cool clown Emily. I wish I could do stuff like that...not an artistic bone in my body.... Hope every one south of the border has a psafe ans psilly long weekend.
  9. Amanda, I feel your pain, and my heart breaks for you. I've gone through much the same thing in recent times myself, even to the point of finding a suitcase. When you love someone that much, it is excruciating! I only pray that he snaps out of it, or if it is the meds, talk to his doctor soon. I agree with the advice you've gotten so far. I think...
  10. We have a SONY as well. It is very user friendly and takes great pictures. We took it on holidays, and have pictures we will cherish for a long time.
  11. We MAY be in the area for the Psillies Psummit, but we'll see. If DW can get the time off of work then maybe. DELL may make some of the best computers IMHO. We have a desktop AND a laptop from them, and they both work VERY well and we've had no problems with either. I had my DD at the dentist for the first time yesterday, and I was amazed and proud...
  12. That may be true, but he is well trained by now I'm sure....where I work, they are all student
  13. Good Morning all, SO much catching up to do when you miss a day....guess I'll have to try not to do that anymore. The idea of a get together sounds AWESOME. Wife and I LOVE to travel, so it could be a good road trip. Today is gardening day before i head in to tell those silly pilots where to go. We bought some roses and a new lilac tree yesterday...
  14. Happy weekend all...weather here is gorgeous and I am going to go spend some time outside...hay fever and all. Commands Her Own Way And for those who were wondering, I hail from Moose Jaw, SK. Although I think I should campaign to have it called Middle of nowhere town. What do you all think?
  15. Yes, my Kira has a black tongue...and is more than happy to use it on anyone who comes to visit. It is the one feature of Chow's that we LOVE...so unique. I wish all my fellow Silly canuckians a safe long weekend. Talk to you all soon.
  16. Elye, My puppy is a 3 yo Chow Chow named Kira. She's more like a big clumsy bulldozer though. I think she thinks she's a cat and doesn't know she weight over 50 lbs. She runs around the yard at full speed 'zooming' with the wind in her face. Try to get her to take a walk or chase a ball though, and she looks at you with this "forget it" look...
  17. Morning all. No funny stories this morning...just enjoying a rare day off from work and my second cup of coffee, and watching our puppy 'zoom' around out yard like a crazy person. Hope everyone has a great day!
  18. Can't help you there....I leave that up the the Vet, but thankfully I've never had to deal with it. I've posted here before, but have been fairly inactive on the board for some time.
  19. Good to know I'm not the only one who woke up to rain and grossness outside. Tried to convice my DD that a skirt was going to be too cold to wear to 'school'. Hope all you mommies had a great Mother's day.
  20. We use Bromine in our Hot Tub. Our supplier said it is easy to switch back and forth, but some people can be/develop on allergy to one or the other. We were also told that even if the chemicals are balanced, it can cause itching etc in some people. To switch, if you choose, just start using Bromine or other sanitizer or stop using the chlorine. ...
  21. The herb roasted chicken with baked potato and slaw. And you can sub the BBQ sauces (All but the beer one) for the regular chicken sipping sauce. THat's what I usually get anyway.
  22. I too had to have my tonsils out because of them, but that was Pre Diagnosis. I was in my late 20's and the doctors did not know how to get them to stop...chronic tonsil infections though usually means they have to go.
  23. We've just had DD at the doc for the third time this year for the same thing, and stupid ear infection. he's finally talked about having tubes put in, and we are thinking about it. The question comes from when he said she seems to be producing a lot of extra mucus, and this is leading ot the chornic ear infections. Has anyone out there heard of excess...
  24. We've recently come back from a cruise, and since many people here have had good-great expericences with different cruise lines, what about putting together a Gluten Free Cruise. Specialty cruises are done for various groups all the time...why not for people who can't/don't eat gluten for whatever reason? What do you all think?
